A frame doesn't care of your weight, except ofcourse you're way off the charts. Then maybe durability in the long run might be an issue.
If you want a proper bike fit, don't bother about those XS,S,M,L,XL frame sizes. Look at the ETT instead. That will dictate how you will fit the bike. Different brands, different geometry. So your result may vary. Also, nobody can tell you what size bike you like to ride. It's very personal. Some peeps like it slightly larger, some peeps like it small. Based on your height, I think you're inbetween sizes (S or M). |

Acid dips are used in the process of anodizing. Ofcourse it depends on the grade of the acid I presume. By sanding off the the paints from your frame, you're risking of thinning the material more than acid dip. So if acid dips are ok for aluminum, paint stripper, which is a mild type of acid is safe for paint removing from an aluminum frame.
You'll risk of burning your hand and legs with the paint stripper more than risking damaging the frame. Both DIY and hardcore way is given. If you still wanna thick skulled bout it, just sand it smooth and paint it up to whatever color of your liking. |

QUOTE(majorsinbad @ Jul 4 2012, 01:58 PM) Given a choice ...I would have liked to use Arch EX ...but when I bought the wheels (second hand) ...it came with Alpine ...and the owner is almost as big as me ...and most of his bike were using Alpine ...and he kaki Kiara also ... Alpine and Arch is of the same internal width IINM, the only difference is the durability. You ride regularly with LYN otais and LEMBUs, so I thought it would be better to get something more durable. Ya know... To avoid the issue like the pix you posted on the SLR If I really have to change both There's no problem with running Arch at the back while front's using Alpine mah rite? Alot of mat salleh also does that. The new EX series sudah masuk KSH meh? QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Jul 4 2012, 02:37 PM) |

Logging trails are deeply rutted right? Also pretty steep in the dense jungle. Kinda dangerous IMHO.

As Chamelion said, refer to page #1, lots of good infos there. A HT means HardTail. It's refering to a bicycle with only a front suspension, the rear has no suspension.

Putting in a 50mm stroke shocks on a Trance will net a 5.5" travel instead of the normal 5" travel.

GIANT has FOX OEM them some custom length shocks in the RP series. IINM, the travel of these shocks are 7.25" (i2i) x 1.75" (stroke). There are some peeps out there that replaces the stock shock with 7.85" x 2.0"
Assuming that the Trance has a 2.85:1 travel ratio. Using a 2" stroke shock will net another 0.7" (18mm). On the pro level, Adam Craig did it with a coil DHX http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/pro-...anced-sl-27012/ But then this guy is crazy. He recently rides a 29er SS on the WC where other opponents all riding gearies. He also wears normal pants rather than gaypants too. Oh... Using a piggy back shocks will also render the water bottle cage useless, as mentioned in the link above. |
