2012 Alivio's are yesteryear's Deore. Don't bother with low end square tapered cranks. Minimum go Hollowtech for Shimano. Unless you're going retro highend, then get a Titanium square tapered BB with oldskool XTR crank.

The old Alivio just sucks. The RD's spring tension or lack thereof, makes for a noisy ride and prone to drop chains.

Why 2k bike just need to choose color and size? Simple, a complete groupset of Deore's with brakes oledi cost almost 2k IINM. So if you're a manufacturer, how do you make a complete bike and still make money at 2k pricepoint? Cheap out everywhere lo... IMHO for below 2k, best to go 2ndhand. Atleast you'll get some decent parts in the deal.

kiara 2K still ok. except for one or two sections that had their roots removed. try doing the full loop. 2k,inner loop,apollo back up around the mountain....sure gerenti shiok.

Now, at least can full loop 2k without pushing... He! He!

2k compare to before, it still fun to ride. able to ride for few round with excitement and no worries.

Polygon cozmic 5.0 quiet a good spec n good bike...shud be 4k plus

with 3k budget, u will only get a decent new bike only. if u dont mind, get a 2nd hand bike with 3k budget and u will get a good specs. then in the future only decide for future upgrade or move to other category, such as trail or DH.
