next time you're riding thru kiara and see hikers with parang, throw stones at them. they're the ones keep cutting akars at 2K, magic carpet etc tracks because kaki sakit toe keep hitting on the akar. yea, erosion pokok mati tumbang kat track. then kita jugak have to clean up

Thanks for the honest reply guys. This is what i want to hear actually cause other people keep telling me just to get the bike cause its cheap. i ask em whether can tahan or not they all just say can -__- i actually really interested in DH but normal problem la no money budget only 3k something . i was thinking of getting a HT frame like the dartmoor hornet and fit it with a 150mm fork and just try go learn from that. any advice do u have for such noob fella here ? really appreciated it if u have some.
*
EASY. you wanna do DH, then just concentrate on DH. dont fool around with AM or XC or like that. DH has a different skillset and mentality - so just focus on DH.

secondly, about your budget. ok this is a tough one, but easily remedied. get a DJ frame and invest loads in wheelset. a marzochi DJ fork would do just fine. and a fullface helmet.

here: http://www.bicyclebuysell.com/view_item.php?id=156488

get that, then you can ride DH already. off course there's a reason why a full-sus bike + triple crown fork is required to ride DH, but that's when you are faster and when you are ready to take on bigger jumps like in the AU3 track (3 car length gap). so far kiara, pcp, dsara damai track everything can be tackled with a DJ bike.

before you get the wrong idea of not doin other type of biking, what im trying to say is concentrate on DH and ride XC for leisure or when u need to work on stamina. not ride XC but try try cuba DH. like that both also you wont do. dress like gei in XC then wanna clear a gap with an XC bike. kanot.

Normally for you guys who bought only frame, how much do you spend for the parts? Doesn't matter if low-end or high-end.
*
usually we buy frame to change the current frame. so just transfer from old bike to new.

Hey guys, where can I find Fox shoes? Imitation also fine hehe.

Also, which store carry Merida bikes (Klang Valley)?

The Giant Bicycle store in Wangsa Maju does not have any website is it?

Thanks.

tak yah la fox shoes if you baru start riding. just wear what ever sport shoes you have. then later baru figure out you wanna ride clipped or flats.

fact is: riding DH is godawesomesauce but riding time so sikit. one day spent at kiara from 9am to 2pm i doubt i ride more than an hour. although im a bit sad selling off my demo baby, but the rampant is a good bike. these days can ride 3-5 hours in the trail with probably 30 minutes talking cock at pondok or tokong lah. dulu ride DH talk cock 4 hours riding total time 30 minutes. hahaha

with the rampant can go street riding, go kacau the pedastrian in bukit bintang or can go leisure ride around perumahan. dulu DH bike nak kayuh dekat dekat pun malas.

btw: i have no money to have two bikes at the same time. if i do, no need la jual the demo. the demo is an awesome ride, damn fast damn low can lean like gila babi pun can still ride out.

Dont buy lah that bike. Obviously thats gonna be an introductory DH bike and you'd gonna have a hard time selling it later. My suggestion is to get a DJ bike. Yes, just get a DJ bike to do DH.

You get cap ayam DH bike also no fun. Dah la heavy like shit nak do anything else also cannot. So just get the DJ bike, at least you can do DJ, ride the pumptrack in shah alam or PCP or office trail and DH track in kiara. And when you're bored mad, just pick up the bike and go street riding. What ever it is, just remember to have fun. Its not fun pushing a bike up for 45 minutes then going down less than 3 minutes. Then after all that you cant do anything else also.

Save some cash for a proper DH rig. for 8k you can get a proper complete 2nd hand 2010 Demo 8 or 5k-6k a complete Kona rig.

or

http://www.bicyclebuysell.com/view_item.php?id=157417

is a good deal. If you wanna ride DH / FR you start with an aggressive rig. Aggressive rig will make you learn to not brake all the time, learn to scan the trail 6 metres forward and kena learn to commit to a jump / corner / drop. and aggresive rig = lower bottom bracket so when you fall, at least frame tak kena kotey
