in all that happened in the short span of time, i am particularly happy to hear that the owners said they can compete with anyone in the transfer market

hope they can prove it this summer..buy 2-3 1st 11 + 2-3 young potential (16-19 years old) players

and emphasized on technical ability..apart from Suarez, we sorely lack this kind of player rolleyes.gif

I think you guys should hire Andre Villas-Boas... make Chelsea regret their decision to fire him.

“We have the resources to compete with anybody in football.”

can't say i am surprise with the recent backroom departure except for the medic/science dr. I read all these as an acknowledgement our last transfer business have fail to deliver the result.

one more thing, when mgmt hv to say in public the boss is still in charge, the sign is not good.

no one can tell what will happen btw May and Aug but look to me like someone might hit the reset button again this summer.

yeah. no point changing the manager at this point of the season where there is nothing much to be done in the league (at best we might finish in a europa slot), and winning the FA cup means nothing much in terms of $$$ aspects... another exciting summer for all reds fans

Obviously the owner is not happy to spend big bucks on flop players.
Werner has expressed the dissatisfaction on player investment in his interview.

I doubt the manager has the balls to touch the reset button. laugh.gif
IMO, the manager still has a lot to explain to the owner on how to handle the deadwood (ship it out at cut-price or turn it into charcoal). laugh.gif

For now, FA cup is the concern.

Apparently Brukner doesn't see eye to eye with Kenny. Not sure what the actual reason is. But i have to say i thought he's done some decent work here, we've not have that many injuries over the last 2 seasons. We brought Aqualani up to full fitness only for him to start playing else where regularly. If i recall correctly, Carroll came back from his initial injury a lot sooner than predicted. I wonder tho if Brukner gave the go ahead to play Lucas week in week out until he got himself injured.

not a funny joke but for us Reds, the most exciting time is during the off season where all the action happen. u know what, i've been a Red for over 20 years now. My faith remains strong despite going thru all this. Its not easy getting poke even by my Everton friend these days but somehow i manage to dig in and stand firm with my club.

I don't care who the striker is, who the manager is, who the physio is... i just hope what shite happens now, those with the power to decide make the right choice.

now, i need to retrieve back to my cave and meditate. I need to pass some power over to the players for tomorrow.

i agreed.. but it seems his failure in the transfer market is more than success.. i tried googling comolli sacked by tottenham and the news says that comolli was sacked because of the reason i said earlier

thats the way it goes in football, every manager has its flop player. even top manager, ferguson, wenger, even our own rafa benitez.. its up to board to accept or punish the mistake...

yea. for every hit there is probably 3-4 flop. a flop is also relative. I just feel the investment during the transfer just don't add up to here we are now in the league table.

Venky was reported to buy Rover for just 20mil. we got a player tat is more than that. 1 player vs 1 club.

He may be able to identify talents to a certain extent, but he's valuation of players hasn't been terrific. Like some of you guys said; football is a business nowadays. You gotta be economics enough by buying 'potential stars' at very 'reasonable' price.

Newcastle has been making fun of the likes of Man City, Chelsea and us for the past few seasons.

If the owner still need to hire a DOF, they should seriously look into one of the Newcastle scouting team.
