Definitely agree on that. ACCA does have a heavy marketing strategies in place. Don't be attracted by those counsellor. They are merely giving advice. You should gauge your own ability, especially your english standard before enrolling into it. Remember that ACCA might give you a fast track towards your career, but if you continuously failed, you will end up slower then a degree holder.
As for working degree holder planning to take ACCA, do not rush for it. It is advisable that you take 1 to 2 papers per semester.
Yes - ACCA is not for those with weak English, but at the same time I have seen students with really weak English pass the paper.
If you cannot understand what is being taught in the class in English - best solution is to do something else. A degree may not be better since most of the Degree's have a 4 time fail kick out policy.
In that case, I have seen more students being kicked out of the degree after spending a bomb since their effort is low or English is poor.
The sad part now days is that most of the Uni's out there are printing degree's out without any care about the type of graduates they produce. Not to say that those that pass ACCA are any great also - some of little control over their language and usage of foul language that you would think that these are not professional but barbarians. Majority should have learnt the importance of professional behaviour and acted correctly.
Peer pressure is higher now days compared to before due to existence of social media, which seems to spread news - good or bad without consequences taken into account.
I would recommend those in this forum to re-look into their facebook posting and comments - whether there is any way you would be contributing to others stress and pressure.
Enjoy studying - don't make it into a rat race to see who comes out first.
