QUOTE(nothingz @ May 3 2012, 10:14 PM) thanks. Wow, and you still passed p2? Damn hero man you. I'm taking P2 this sem and I'm in the same position as you were actually i have wasted a lot of time, by right i could have graduated much earlier if i took more papers (at least 2) each semester. in the end i noticed that i am too slow, therefore i made up my mind to take P5 and P7 together. I could only absorb around 20% to 30% during lecture class, i absorbed most of the knowledge during my study leave. as for p2, i did not know how to do conso during lecture, not even calculating the goodwill. i only have the motivation to study when exam is near, always last minute P2 needs a lot of practice, practise on the revision kit for few rounds, put extra attention on new accounting standards and effective time management. you should be able to pass |

QUOTE(nothingz @ May 4 2012, 09:35 AM) hahaha, don't always last minute. in case of any accident happens, you are done! When you study your P2 did you memorize all the ias (definition etc)? Or just learn how to do the adjustments only?the only formula is keep on practising, be clear on the conso method you use since different lecturer taught different conso method, make it understandable for the marker. of course i never balanced my SOFP/SOCI/SOCF before in ACCA exams conso question will have some notes asking you to make adjustment to the financial statements, if you don't know that part then just ignore it since your SOFP/SOCF will still balance. don't waste time on thinking how to do if you really have no idea. time management is essential because in every question, the first 10-15 marks can be picked up easily. if you wasted too much time on Q1, you will end up not enough time on other questions. if you can pick up more than half of the marks of each question, your chance of passing is increased |

QUOTE(wl7817 @ May 7 2012, 07:09 PM) Hi all, i will complete my CAT in June/2012. And i looking forward to continue my ACCA in Selangor/KL area. Any colleges recommend for me? sunway..classes quite stress but there's ample study space for individual or group study sessions, huge library as well..Also have ACCA sports day and Sunway Uni sports day..p/s: I wish to have a comfort study environment and joy of study(college/uni with sport activity) . I currently studied at PTPL Penang which more like a tuition centre. |

QUOTE(SereneAshley @ May 11 2012, 01:18 PM) Seriously, its just that i can't stand acca any more. its like a high pressure and high stress course, and the fact that the syllabus is so incredibly huge. Also, acca doesn't teach you anything other than how to become an accountant. I feel like i'm losing my soul lol QUOTE(SereneAshley @ May 11 2012, 01:28 PM) Aduh, what you mean wasting away on acca? Yes, it's not easy..but you will reap what you sow in the end..And acca can branch out in to a lot of stuff not just accountant. Paid already just try your best. Who knows you pass in the end? Just take it one step at a time, don't stress yourself. If you feel can't handle 2 papers just focus on 1. Like me, when I did F6 and F7, I had no clue what was going on. I made the decision to drop F7 last minute and passed F6 In Sunway, our lecturer always joke with us, if you cannot take ACCA go MUFY. QUOTE(junggle @ May 12 2012, 10:33 PM) Is doing past year enough for F5?? There are only 9 sets and some of the syllabus never come out before. Enough or not I don't know..but it will sure as hell help increase your passing chances Beside that anyone got any tips for F6?? lol gonna study them one day before the exam. |

QUOTE(Irresistible @ May 13 2012, 12:42 AM) Woah 4 times only and you quit ah? But I guess some people are like that..My friend taking P6 and P7 failed both with 49 marks after that he got phobia for ACCA exams..he couldn't go for the finals even though he already paid for them..Some people just keep continuing on and on for many years. My friend's cousin just passed his last paper (P4) after so many years. He's almost 30 years old. QUOTE(SereneAshley @ May 13 2012, 12:03 PM) Thanks to everyone who gave advice Hmm, from what I heard..ACCA professional papers is on par with masters..But in the working world ACCA graduates would have the edge (correct me if I'm wrong)..But really, just do your best..For the F level, I had no clue what was going on most of the time especially for papers F4, F7, F8. But I took 2 by 2 and managed to scrape through the F level I attempt like below: F4 and F5 F6 and F7(drop) F7 and F8(fail both) F7, F8, F9, P1 Out of all the F papers, you're taking 2 of the toughest papers IMO..Maybe that's why you feel so stressed..Also, exam is nearing that's why stress level increase..I also always feel like quitting ACCA the following sem when nearing exams. Pre-exam blues When I was taking F4 I had decided to quit ACCA just one month before exams because I didn't know a single thing other than the words "offer and acceptance". Can you imagine I scored 0.5marks (rounded up to 1mark This post has been edited by nick67: May 13 2012, 06:18 PM |

QUOTE(junggle @ May 13 2012, 09:07 PM) God!!! Nope..I'm doing P2 I feel F5 is easy but i am just scared of some things i didn't give attention will come out in the final exam ZZzz So you now have already passed ACCA?? Don't worry..Just try your best for both papers.. Since your F5 okay then put more effort into F4. Still have 1 month to study F4 |

QUOTE(junggle @ May 13 2012, 11:54 PM) [CODE] Yea, sometimes it might be a good idea to let go one for the benefit of the other. Like me, take just 2 papers f6 and F7 but i drop F7 and just passed 1 paper that sem actually i'm taking another paper F6 but i've decided to give up because i really feel that i'm short of time. I also hate memorizing stuff. After memorizing somehow will forget then have up memorize again the same things. This post has been edited by nick67: May 14 2012, 07:26 AM |

QUOTE(Janping @ May 16 2012, 11:19 PM) My F5 lecturer starts to teach P5 on next semester, so slightly motivate me to take P5 but again I'm worrying the fact that P5 is getting harder to pass since the change of examiner... Mr. Akhbar? He's quite slack in class which is why I'm considering taking p5 outside.. QUOTE(trendygengis @ May 18 2012, 10:18 AM) so basically p2 is about memorising the IASes right? I planned to memorise the last week before exams. On the other hand i have p1 to worry about as well. =( Woo..last week before exam for p2? |

QUOTE(SereneAshley @ May 18 2012, 04:06 PM) Yea, i'll be doing the same thing as u for revision. Law just has too many things to memorise, gotta remember the case, some more got so many names... Hahaha for f4..I remember I only know a few case law names like Solomon vs Solomon And yea, my lecturer did teach partnership, why? Is it a focus for this sitting? I forgot but are we allowed to write our answers in point form? Added on May 18, 2012, 4:08 pm Lol get off your high horse la...i do not advocate just relying on tips alone but giving students the important chapters to focus on helps a lot. I find it strange how u say this but assert that somehow ''luck'' plays a huge part in whether u pass the paper. |

QUOTE(Janping @ May 18 2012, 07:51 PM) Thanks senior. Currently enrolled for P5, should focus on exams now instead of having dilemma every night for this choice. Lol..I think it's his first sem teaching p5 right? He taught me in T2 (or 3), T7 and F5..Feel he kinda too chilling in class..Added on May 18, 2012, 7:57 pm Yup it's Mr Akbar. I don't know but I enjoyed his F5 classes. Don't know about P5. -___- Should go for every optional papers for the first two lessons and decide? |
