QUOTE(noonies_naruto @ Jun 26 2012, 04:35 AM) u coming from CAT? I'm not from CAT..I have 4months to go for my A-level but I don't know if I should go degree or straight ACCA.From what you have mentioned,ACCA sounds kinda tough.Plus I don't have account basic.Iv been observing a trend where when students were still doing CAT, and everybody were like stars of the show. scoring upto 90% ++, and they think they can aboslutely make it thru ACCA. turns out ACCA was too cruel. And those colleagues of mine were just too ambitious and over-confident. I've got many many friends who were top scorers during CAT, but when it comes to ACCA, it seems like they will be doing it forever. ACCA is only for the strong-willed. I'd be lenient if it was F papers, but P papers is a whole different level. You have to actually plan on practical stuff like how many papers wanna take per sem, how long is the gap between your first and second (and maybe third!) papers, how many hours will you study per day etc. The safest route I'd suggest would be to take degree first, and that will provide you exemption for F papers, where you are left with just 5 P papers. hey, at least you've got your degree. you can always take papers while working. |

QUOTE(SereneAshley @ Jun 30 2012, 02:10 AM) Oh, i was also in your shoes the last time when i finished my foundation studies. I wanted to do degree first but was advised to do acca as its more reputable among employers. Another reason is because the fees were a little bit cheaper as well. lol and of course, the college will always tell u that acca is the faster route but its not always true. Thx for your reply..So you pass all your paper at 1st attempt?I've made my decision and I will study ACCA after my A-level..Hmm...it really depends on what you want. Acca is really not easy, and its not the most interesting course to study as well, so think wisely before you jump in. But if you are sure you want to work in the accounting line, acca is a really good choice. Added on June 30, 2012, 11:32 pm QUOTE(hrevijay @ Jun 30 2012, 05:22 AM) Contrary to what most ppl will tell you, whether or not you dive into ACCA straight out of school really just depends on one thing. . . . . Your ability and confidence in it. The reason I say this is because while majority of those who do ACCA normally do so after completin a degree, it is important to note that there are many who do it straight out of school as well. For instance, I know someone who is midway through and doing really well with only a SPM qualification prior to enrolling into ACCA. It's no easy ride as many will immediately point out, but definitely do-able. It's really comforting to know that I'm not alone. So the real question is. . . . Are you up for it ? QUOTE(terryble @ Jul 9 2012, 01:25 AM) Of coz you can do so~~ I'm also confuse at how people go different places for different lecturers.I prefer going to one place only.BUT..based on my past experience...i advice you not to do so~~ focus on your studies 1st if the situation allows u...u may have the next 30 years to accumulate experience~~ Part time students tends to have VERY high failure rate~~ Added on July 9, 2012, 6:27 pm Try Malvern (formerly known as Kasturi) only need to pay a fraction of the price~~ and get 50% discount if you were to resit~~ but the trade off is that~~you do not has nice library...1st class facilities and fantastic college life~~ it is more like a tuition center~~where ppl come and go after class~~ if u can bear with that~~try it~~ Added on July 9, 2012, 8:32 pm QUOTE(kokming118 @ Jul 9 2012, 01:47 AM) beside Malvern ( Kasturi) can try out for elitejaya (aka orange) they have good and experiences lecturer .. u study at elitejaya? This post has been edited by Starleo1212: Jul 9 2012, 08:32 PM |
