Honestly speaking you don't need books to pass F1 F2 and F3. These are the knowledge level papers and you can easily score good it them by just doing some mock exam questions( just google and you will find tons of them). My suggestion is not to waste time on books  nod.gif

but as you know, 2013 format is different, many PYQ is not relevant anymore.
Isnt it?

DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS
If you decide to complete the ACCA Qualification, you will be awarded the Diploma in Accounting and Business on your way to completing the ACCA Qualification.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
You will need to register as a student on the ACCA Qualification and complete:
the first three exams of the ACCA Qualification. These are: F1, Accountant in Business, F2, Management Accounting and F3, Financial Accounting
a professionalism and ethics module called Foundations in Professionalism.

Anyone get this cert? Is it easy to obtain this cert?

ACCA don't issue any PYQ for F1 F2 and F3 so you just have mock exams which are relevant all the time, and the syllabus is not very much changed. In which college are you enrolled in?

If I were you, I'd probably review the P5 past exam papers and sample answers. Have you asked accountant Blofeld regarding this matter? ohmy.gif

Hi Sifu, do you think I shall buy F2-F3 PYQ and text book?
Since there is free sources out there, I am thinking not to buy if it provide the same thing as I need.

Hello guys,

if I just do the PYQ for F1-F3, will I pass?
I dont want to buy the text book because it is expensive.

p/s anyone got PYQ F1-F3 for 2013? I want to buy
if textbook cheap, I buy also.

You're not attending classes for F1-F3?There are no PYQ for F1-F3.Buy BPP revision kit and do all the questions there. The exam questions are sometimes similar to the revision kit..

Haha

Exactly, I would look at the PYQ too.

To me, lecture notes are useless.

Babygirl, what you need are: textbook + revision kit + PYQ.

Practice, practice, and practice...

Practise the same question over and over again....that's the key.

Need help here regardin f3
A payables ledger control acc showed cr balance of 768420. Payables ledger balances total 781200. Which one of the following possible errors could account in full for the differences?
A) A contra against a receivable ledger dr balance of 6390 has been entered to the cr side of payables ledger control acc
B) The total of discount allowed 28400 was entered to the dr side of the payables ledger control acc instead of the correct figure for discount received of 15620
C) 12780 cash paid to supplier was entered on the cr side of the supplier acc in the payables ledger
D) The total discount received 6390 has been entered on the cr side of the payables ledger control acc

Can someone explain to me each situation how to solve this. WHat are the accounts involved?
I always have problem with this kind of questions and my answer is always more than 1 of those. The correct answer is B

Question 2
Which of the following errors should be identified by performing a receivebles control acc reconiliation?
A) A sales invoice of 500 has been omitted from the sales daybook
B) A sales return 45 was entered as 54 in the sales return day book
C) Purchases of 72 were entered as sales return daybook and the individual acc
D) The total of the sales daybook was miscast by 200
Answer D
Sales day book are credit sales but may i know how the accounts are involve in here?
Thanks!
Sry for asking all this simple questions but Im kinda loss because i dont understand the lecturer and got no acc basics

hi. i need some help. i read some info on accaglobal and this is what i understand.

if i have no previous qualification (in accounting), i have to start from FIA, correct? since they no longer offer MSER.

another question, is there any place that offer distance learning or part-time (weekend only if possible) in sabah? (pantai barat area to be more specific, or KK, keningau area)...

i only found one so far, here. not sure got PJJ or not though. and not enough info too.

thanks.

F4 and F6 are straight forward and you can easily score above 75 by just practicing as many questions as possible. F5 is a kind of tough paper, but if you have a good technique and if you have practiced a lot of questions and provided you haven't left out any syllabus area, then scoring in F5 is also not difficult.

In the last examiner meeting for F4 and F6, two things came out (I was there)
1. The examiner for F6 is new compared to previous examiner - so do expect changes. Doing just past year implies that assumption is the past will repeat. If this is valid, you are safe, if not rclxub.gif

2. The examiner for F4 stated that he wants to twist the questions around a bit and use the "trigger word" trap that usually traps the students that read only past year papers. If that is the case, doing too much past year could actually be detrimental.

3. Giving advice is fine but good idea to put a caveat. If your comprehension of English is strong, I don't see a problem with the advice given, but if you comprehension is weak or low, this could back fire very hard. Knowing only the past year tends to lock the mind into a few answers and you may end up answering the past year paper rather what is set for the current sitting - one of the major complaints from the examiner and what is stated in the examiner report.
