Guys anyone been under Mr siva nair from ftms for P6 revision? Would like to find out your opinions and possibly hear about his teaching style? Does he talk non stop/focus on theory/engage the students often by asking questions/etc?

QUOTE(hrevijay @ Apr 21 2013, 10:45 AM) Why do people on this thread continue to post new queries on issues that have already been discussed to death countless number of times. For christ's sake, please learn to use the thread search function at the bottom of the page. Who's question are u referring to? |

I searched previous threads finding some info on Choon Kwai Fatt's revision classes but seems like I can't find what I'm searching for. I want to find out his style of teaching. Does he revise the whole syllabus? Does he engage the students or just talk non-stop? Etc.
Finding the right revision class for P6 currently. Edit: To be more specific, I'm looking at Siva Nair and CKF's revision. Undecided which to go. This post has been edited by nick67: Apr 25 2013, 06:44 PM |

QUOTE(Dreamx @ May 9 2013, 11:05 PM) hi all, i have checked my exam docket at myacca, the photo inside is very small and not clear (photo before crop), will that cause any problem? or it is alright as the information correct? Don't worry about the docket, since it is what ACCA provide you with.and for the calculator take into exam hall, can we use fx-570ES or only fx-570MS allowed? this is my first attempt for acca exam (other papers clear by exemption) and quite nervous now, thanks for any help Any calculator is fine as long as it cannot be programmed (i.e. anything that helps you gain an unfair advantage is not allowed) QUOTE(MindBlank @ May 10 2013, 10:52 AM) Anyone sitting for F4, F7, F8, F9 revision classes from any lecturer... any tips given for this June 2013 sitting???? Can share? I think each lecturer has his/her pros and cons. See first post for recommendation. I think any papers can be self-studied, given enough effort but would advice for you to go classes for at least F5 and F6.Just want to ask who is the best lecturers in KL town for F5, F6 and P1??? This papers can self study or not? QUOTE(oOoproz @ May 11 2013, 04:20 AM) I plan to self study for P1 and P3, and only go for extra or intensive class b4 finals.... Is it ok to self study?? Hope you're not talking about it for this sitting. Like I said above, it's possible to self-study any papers if you work really hard and put in enough effort. Based on my experience, I would say P1 and P3 are among the easier P level papers to self-study, because they are mostly theories and I don't find them being too technical. But if you can afford, why not go for class? |

QUOTE(junggle @ Jun 1 2013, 01:05 AM) F8- dead. Not really sure what procedure to give Good luck man..Think you need it. Both also difficult especially P2.P2- dead. Can't finish the syllabus. The syllabus is so big!! Focus on current issue. Usually Q4 is (free) easy marks. QUOTE(pherac @ Jun 1 2013, 08:32 AM) I'm sitting for P7 and P5 this sem. Don't worry about P5. It's not as difficult as most people make it out to be. Just do your best!Am okay with P7, am just worried that I might not write enough to score the points. Am very nervous about P5.. This is the first time ever in my ACCA course I have no idea how to tackle a paper! QUOTE(kelvinlky @ Jun 1 2013, 06:00 PM) Why die? Relax man. F5 and F9 shouldn't be a problem. Mostly calculations based which should be relatively easy to pass. How much have you prepared for those 3 papers? |

QUOTE(mika90 @ Jun 7 2013, 10:48 AM) how to prepare p1? i read through whole text book but still not able to answer all the past year question You read through but cannot answer? Firstly do you understand the concepts and whatnot of the syllabus? Even if you don't, you should be able to answer some based on memory work.Read the PYQs and see how they present the answers. From there, you should be able to get an idea on how to draw your own answers and apply what you read. This post has been edited by nick67: Jun 7 2013, 11:39 AM |

QUOTE(keeting89 @ Jun 7 2013, 07:16 PM) This round p6 is doable.. If I'm not wrong they only penalize you once. Meaning only first figure would be wrong, and the examiner would have taken into account that the other wrong figures are caused by the first one.I want to ask if there is follow thru marks given? i mean first part figure wrong, the subsequent figures will different too.. Anyone know this? Yeah, P6 was very doable. Everyone seems to think that. But I think I messed up my paper |

He sits down and do calculations all day from my experience. and sometimes i don't get what he is trying to say.also want to know their teaching styles, attributes and weaknesses as compared with other lecturers. F4 Corporate and Business Law CL(2.2) Viknes (KBandar) Sanjeetha (KSA) F5 Performance Management PM(N/A) Ian Lim (Elitejaya) Andrew Pang (KSA) Low Chin Ann (KB) F6 Taxation TX (2.3) Alan Yeo (KSA) Andrew Kok (KSA) Low Chin Ann (KB) Wong Paik Wan (Elitejaya) Siva Nair (FTMS) Thank you..... Alan Yeo's class also quite boring the way he teaches. Andrew Kok is not bad. At least he talks clearly. |

QUOTE(frodo baggin @ Jun 8 2013, 11:08 PM) Yes it does work Have to agree with Mr Jay here. You may very well be able to pass with a miracle.P2 you need to do well on the ethics question + Q4 + consolidation, chances of passing can be high. Gamble it by just taking a few standards and consolidation + hedge, who knows you could get lucky. Hope that helps. |

QUOTE(frodo baggin @ Jun 11 2013, 11:10 AM) Good luck for those going into P2 today. I guess this will make the pass rates significantly improve for the F level. But it makes me wonder how will they fare when they advance to the P level where it's all written and much more difficult.Guys I just saw the Dec 2014 sample papers for F level, all of them will have 20 MCQ worth 40 marks. The balance is written. I suppose this would make ACCA F level much easier and very comparable to degree, since the usual scare for doing ACCA is that it is tough. The juniors will probably benefit a lot. On F7, I had a student that only studied Q1 - 3 and pass 67 out of 75 marks. He later failed P2 many times since he was focusing only on the computation side of F7, not the standard side. The calculations alone would allow you to get 50 marks. |

QUOTE(Grevade @ Jun 12 2013, 04:46 PM) Should I take ACCA concurrently with my degree, or claim exemptions and then sit for last 5 papers? Huh? Assuming I do have the time to study for both and have above average intelligence, which method would be better? Assuming you have above average intelligence why not just do ACCA directly? It's faster and also a higher qualification than a degree. Usually people who takes the degree route are "playing it safe". This post has been edited by nick67: Jun 12 2013, 06:46 PM |

QUOTE(Grevade @ Jun 13 2013, 10:18 AM) Because I am under a scholarship. They don't allow to take ACCA because it is not a undergraduate program. Oh I see. I was under the impression that this is your choice. I would say it is better to focus on your degree first and after that you could do ACCA part time while working (which would be taken into account for the 3 years working experience requirement) or spend 1 year to do the professional course full time with the available exemptions. I feel it's a waste to do them both concurrently since you would be eligible for the exemptions after the degree anyway. About my comment that degree is a "safer" choice..I meant that in comparison to the relative difference in difficulty between obtaining a degree and ACCA.
