Calm down guys. ACCA is NOT a language paper. It doesn't matter which lecturer has the BEST English. If you have any grammatical error it wouldn't make your point invalid, so long as the marker is able to understand what you are trying to say. They are lenient in a way where they take into account the language capabilities of students from all over the world with whatever lousy handwriting they may have.

I'm agree with you! Ms. Geetha is a good lecturer,! I'm under her before and passed on my first attempt. Her notes is quite simple and easy to understand. Her slang not bad too!
*
Yeah, her English command is very good. As with most lecturers in Sunway. thumbup.gif

And when she sees us being tired she'll take a break and give us general knowledge facts. thumbup.gif

Well if others want to offend for no reason then they will just find a way to whatever we do. And as regards to whatever you said is fine, but we all have a freedom of speech, we would say whatever we like I thought you guys got independence in 1957 then why some of the people here are still not independent or maybe their mind isn't.
Whatever I said was my opinion, and if anyone doesn't like it, please don't even bother reading my posts anymore, or rather reply me in such a harsh way doesn't show a professional behavior.
Anyways I believe we should end this discussion now and focus more on our Exam, which are just approaching. Hope you got a flavor of what I meant and whether I was wrong or your people.
*
Hello friend, I think you may have misunderstood what frodo said. It's got nothing to do with freedom of speech or independence etc. It's about misleading newer students and forumners about which is "the best" lecturers around. If he/she is the best for you, it doesn't mean it will be the best for everyone else, so it will be misleading to others who came here for advice. Stating out which lecturer is the "absolute best in Malaysia" based on your own biased opinion, in your own words, doesn't show a professional behavior.

shocking.gif  Okay but I told that to just one person and even that person didn't bother what I said.
Misleading? What do you mean by that? Okay, I told my opinion and it is up to the reader whatever they wanna think of  doh.gif
*

Haha, I know you only told one person. But that one person will think that the lecturer is best for him/her. Plus it would be seen by other newer members who read the past posts.

For example, I once read that Alan Yeo is the BEST for taxation revision. At that time I believed this to be true. I attended his revision classes, but in the end I was very disappointed. His style was just too monotonous and seems like he's talking to himself. Of course I failed in the end.

That's all that we meant only. Nothing to be angry about smile.gif

Maybe it would be better if you could describe your lecturer's teaching style (Does he engage the students or just reads his texts? Does he focus on theory or numbers? etc). Definitely it would be more informative than just letting us know he is the best in Malaysia. smile.gif

I see what you meant there. I will avoid these kind of quotes in the future and yea will describe everything about the teacher, the way he teaches etc.
I apologize if anyone felt bad or something smile.gif
*
Haha! Good luck and happy studying Sir!

excuse me, may i know any recommended lecturer(s) for F5 ? plsss....
*
I've been under Akbar(sunway) for F5. He's style of teaching is slow and steady. And his methods/formulas are sometimes lengthy, but very easy to understand and follow. Can get a little boring at times, but he's not too bad if you have questions and whatnot he would oblige.

Hi,

I'm interested in doing ACCA. I'm 21 years old and I've done A levels in the past. However my results were poor as I was fooling around too much. Later I did my foundation in order to proceed to degree and got good grades cause already regretted for doing bad in a levels. I did Econs, Maths and History for A Levels, Econs, Business and Accounting for Foundation.

Just to add, I'm currently taking a gap year and holding an unconditional offer from one of the top 50 unis in the world for A&F degree. I plan to do ACCA after degree.

But lately I've been thinking of doing ACCA straight rather than degree.

What would you recommend? Wait until Sept 2014 for degree or start ACCA? Plus, is it better for me to do ACCA in other countries eg SG or UK?

Thanks
*
I'd suggest to just do ACCA straight away. It's faster than going through degree first.

There's no advantage in studying abroad for ACCA other than gaining exposure overseas. The exam questions are the same.

With less than 5days for my f4 exam...what could be the best way to do now to atleast have a slight chance of passing the paper...concerntrated too much on my f5...so worried...advice please.
*
Relax man.

Revise what you know and add value to them. Forget what you don't know. Go through past year Q&A. It should be enough to pass f4.

You can opt for a degree while doing ACCA. Its from Oxford Brookes Uni.

But it seems you already decided to go the degree route first.

This is helpful. Thank you. tho they've done away with the acca card I believe. Website says only need National ID for verification. My heart skipped a beat there. Lol.

Eh can we bring highlighters?
Doesn't specify on docket.
*
Really? The invigilator checked my acca card. Sorry I joined ACCA way back so I wasn't aware its not needed anymore.

You can bring any stationary into the hall. But I suggest not using liquid paper because the script is scanned. Also I generally don't use rulers in exam to draw lines because its time consuming. Highlighters would also not be picked up by the scanner if I'm not wrong.

Just find it easier in terms of reading the question paper and highlighting the case. Good to know that any stationery is allowed in.

And yeah apparently registration cards stopped after July 2011.. Just googled. Lol. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... But I didn't receive any notification or read anywhere about d card when I registered in July this yr heheh

Nervous.

Now I feel old. Haha!

Just relax! Good luck!

Will there be any difference if I take other version of law-related papers?

Regarding the paper-based exams, will I be able to choose to sit in any exam centres I want? As I just contacted some of the colleges and they rejected my application as I am not a student registered under their college.
*
You should be able to sit any of the centre you prefer as you register with ACCA directly.

Finished my P3 exam and just back from Sunway Uni......
Anyway.....all the questions are doable and lots of info have been offered.

Q1 was the "copy and paste" questions from the past year exam - Organic growth, Acquisition and Strategic Alliances+Acquisition with Suitability,Feasibility and acceptability + Diamond.

Q2 was Time Series Analysis, Least Square Regression + importance of Budgeting

Q4 was 4Is from 6I + Marketing mix (But i answer by applying by common sense XDD)
Anyway.....time management is still my weakness and this problem still remain unsolved until today T.T
But I feel my quality of answers were quite nice although missing some marks in every question because of reaching time budget that i sat.

Especially for Q2......i have to recalculate the Time series table and regression table, and evaluate the appropriateness, it is causing significant time allocated to analysis and the easy justification the importance of budgeting i have to leave it blank ----10 marks lost!!!
Hopefully, 70% completion still allow me to pass!!!!
*
One thing I learnt is to never go back and correct a mistake. Unless you are able to complete the whole paper and still have time then only go back.

QUOTE(princess_s @ Dec 9 2013, 10:14 PM)
hi everyone, so i did my paper today and is it okay if i didn't fill in the circle for my question answered on the top of the paper? Like which question to attempt... I just simply circle it lol. Is it okay if i didn't shade the questions attempted? I'm kinda worry now.
*
Should be okay as long as you label the sections etc. There was once I did my paper my answer was separated half on the first page and the other half on the last page. Still managed to pass. So I guess they're pretty lenient on this.
