QUOTE(writeprotect @ Oct 23 2012, 06:52 PM) Hi brotan or all sifu, Im not really clear abt this BT. From the 1st page link given for the standard chartered bank. I saw if i make rm3k BT then i will need to pay rm231*12mth So total of payback is only rm2772.. Is it just that? Or there any other charges? i just dnt beleived it. BT rm3k then payback only rm2772 only in 12mth?sorry for noob q Just worry of any other charge. Added on October 23, 2012, 5:53 pmFrom my understanding, 231 is the interest charged (7.7% effective rate), so total 3,231 to be paid back within 12 months. Over there stated fixed monthly installment, so you need to pay 269.25 monthly for 12 months. Btw, still better check with scb if you want to take the bt.

QUOTE(writeprotect @ Oct 24 2012, 06:24 PM) Hehe at least i want to understand how does it work? Hehe What @Titan_Gunners is saying is that if you don't understand it yourself and your understanding is based on what other people is telling you then please stay away from subscribing to such debt. (Which I agree) You need to understand yourself what you are getting yourself into and shying away from advices given by non-professionals - they at least need to come from the bank that you are signing up with. Now ... this has nothing to do with we are not sharing with you ... this is a practical and sincere advice for you. (in case anyone from my fan club decides to flame me for my statement.)

It is incorrect to use RM 231 x 12. Your monthly installments is NOT RM 231. Yes, there will be other charges IF you do NOT pay according to schedule. regarding the bank islam balance transfer details
Valid Until : 31st Dec 2012 (Note : Called the bank. CS said you just have to pay min 5% of the outstanding balance transfer amount for that month. But on the final due date of the BT duration (6 mths, 12 mths or 24 mths), you must clear all the outstanding or you will be charged normal cc interest
If let says I want to BT 5k for 1 year (1% per year=0.083%), each month i only pay 5.083% of the outstanding?

Received a call today from StanChart for their BT promo. 6 months - 2.99% 9 months - 4.50% 12 months - 6.99% Not sure if this rate is applicable to everyone. May call SCB to ask if interested. On the other hand, was offered 6.88% p.a. and 1% upfront fee for HSBC Cash Installment Plan. Unused credit limit for your HSBC credit card can be converted to cash (credited into any bank account in Malaysia) at the above rate. http://www.hsbc.com.my/1/2/personal-bankin...H_CH_A_HSBC_CIP
