Dear All sifu,

Reading from recent post, i got a question to ask
i planning to buy smth which is worth of almost 7k and i need a 24 month installment plan with lesser interest.

i only have a maybankard2 and maybank visa ..

Any idea how to minimize the interest ? which bank interest lower ? should i do balance transfer ?

i done a small survey where currently CIMB is offering 0% interest for 6 month ..... But i need 24 month as the amount is kind of big for me..

BT to Public Bank. I transfered rm6400 to it for 24 months installment. Only 5% upfront charge is imposed. If u transfer 7k, total amount would be rm7350. Monthly installment would be rm291.66. Only For the first month, you have to pay rm291.66+ rm350 upfront charge. You can only transfer up to 80% of your public bank credit limit.

I think that's the lowest interest rate that you can get for 24 months. Bank Islam also offer 5%, but it is charged per annum, so interest would be 5%×7000×2years= rm700.

If you want to do 12 months BT, bank Islam would be the best, as it offer 1% interest per annum. Total interest for 7k would be merely rm70. The only caveat is they don't require you to make fixed monthly installment. You just need to pay minimum amount every month, and make sure you settle everything in exactly 12 months.

For 6 months BT, many banks offer 0%.

I faxed on Thur monring, and haven't received call yet. Based on my exp about 10+ BTs with them, usually it should be same or latest next day.

I see. The email address I stated is given by the personnel who call me to verify my BT application as I left out one credit card statement. He asked me to sent my credit card statement to this email address. I double confirm with him is it I can just email to this address for future BT application and he say yes.

BT MBB and OCBC to AEON.

16 OCT - Submitted BT form to AEON in the morning. Then received verification call + approval SMS in the afternoon.
17 OCT - Appear in AEON online banking
23 OCT - OCBC account updated with payment, but nothing in M2U, guess it's gonna take another day or two.

Is it if I apply for too many credit cards at once will kena rejected? Even if my payment pattern is good?

If your income is RM36,000 and BELOW, maximum can only have 2 credit cards. This is Bank Negara ruling. So you will continue to kena reject.

9) OCBC : 12 mths, 2.88% fee, 0% interest, Min - RM 1k per bank

for the above statement is it still valid?

i read this on their internet today : http://www.ocbc.com.my/personal-banking/Ca...e_transfer.html

it seems like one time 4% for 12-month tenure
