Paiseh... me not sifu. My phone no problem locking. Even can lock at the balcony of my condo unit. But yes, sometimes the problem you mentioned does happened i.e. lots of satellites but it won't lock.

getting more frustrated with my w...battery life sux...straight use on wifi can only last for 5 hours

my galaxy w will use phone mic even i have plugged in headphone....
its just suddenly become like that....
anybody know why?

Mine can stand one day on full wifi + an hour of data outside (go out makan twice a day). Overnight 8 hours idle drain only about 4~5%. 7 at most.

Will use phone mic? What's the meaning? You mean you plugged in a Headset and wanted to use the headset as handsfree with mic on it? Don't get you~

Supposely when anyone inserted the handsfree headphone, the phone will automatically switch the voice input and output to the headphone right?
But my phone now after plugged in the handsfree headphone and the voice input is still using phone mic, instead of the handsfree's mic.

Mine even if idle on data it will drain 2~3% per hour but on wifi it's barely even 1%.
When using, also data eat a lot more
But if 5 hours screen on, keep surfing, then possible. Ya, our phone is small, screen is small but battery also smaller compared to other phone. With other phones, I believe you'll get about the same result too, won't be a big difference depending on battery capacity and screen size. Screen and data is the most battery consuming aspects in my opinion (means 'I THINK SO') Normally I use whole day, screen on is about 3 hours until my next recharge. So if you're looking at 5 hours straight web surfing, keep touch here and there, confirm will die before 5 hours. You can't compare this to tablets (Whether you are or you ain't, just sharing xD). Normally tablet has really large battery, like the 800mAH in Tab 10.1, that's massive capacity enough for it to last 10 hours surfing. I don't think phone can last that long. Never really surf 5 hours straight. I rather do that with my laptop. Never have another phone to test too. This is my first and only android *But I think 5 hours non-stop, not many phone can really do that *

started to have problems with my phone..

the phone is freaking laggy until the point that you cant even navigate properly the menu page or launch an app smoothly.. but after a reboot it will smoothen for a period then the process repeats..

my phone is rooted.. i wonder if this have to do with me using the antutu cpu app but i did change it back to the default setting before i unroot my phone so not quite sure wheres the problem,

i do a lot of browsing i also own galaxy tab and quite satisfied with its battery life..just that its bulky and won't fit my trouser hunting for mugen 1700mah battery now but couldn't find any seller in LYN

That's the problem. Don't expect it to go full on for 5 hours. 1700mAH? Will that makes much difference? Third party usually not that efficient so I doubt it makes much difference Just my 0.02, no specific sources~

Coz the update is quite glitchy. The first attempt, it will sort of like "install" the driver for the phone, requires a restart of laptop then the phone will get disconnected. Restart your laptop and do it again. This process got a bit of risk in it coz it's like being disconnected half way through. But so far no one complaint on bricking their phone or anything by doing so. If everything messed up, you got to find samsung to settle it But i think it won't

Edit: After update it'll still be 2.3.6. The build number is different though. The newest build is DXLC
