Aiya... why care so much? When your phone got problem, I don't think samsung can detect also. They'd just flash the whole thing laugh.gif

The hard reset method with buttons on FP is not working (volume up + volume down + power). Anyway found this: *2767*3855# to hard reset. It will reset after 10 seconds, so use with care!

(stock rom sgw) connect to kies today and kies notify that there's a new firmware update for sgw. so i went ahead and let it update. kies shows firmware upgrade in progress. the download progress bar went till around 50%, then it went back to 0% with cancel button greyed out. phone then shows in odin mode, custom binary download: no, kernel: samsung !!

there's the green android robot and the message asking not to turn off target device.

was so afraid i'd bricked the phone so i left it that way, after an hour i figure things wont progress so i disconnect the phone and took out battery (since no response from any button).

luckily phone is bootable.

should i continue to use kies update?

Restart your phone and computer. I encountered the same problem too. Seems that windows installed it as new device and caused it to be disconnected. My second attempt after restart everything worked.

exactly what happened to my wifey SGW, tried OTA update, after download it restart but straight went to CWM..

then tried use KIES via PC connection, after download it restart the phone and went to ODIN mode
custom binary: no
kernel: unknown!

and left it for 30 minutes but nothing happened at the progress bar in KIES 0% only.

my wife phone is stock rom unroot but got CWM installed. (just in case she deleted something)

any idea?

Guys i got 1 samsung galaxy W bought last year which have a great battery life, night time when sleep for around 8 hours, the phone idle use around 3~8% battery only.

Recently bought a new Galaxy W(few weeks ago), stock ROM and no software installed yet, its always 16%~20%++ every night idle. Even Factory Data Reset still same.

So same phone same settings (Off Wifi, Off GPS, Off Bluetooth, Off Backgroud Data) already Off everything, Idle 8 hours the new Galaxy W is double battery consumtion of the old one.

Old Galaxy W can play games and listen music a bit, 3 days+ charge once, if totally Idle might be can last 4~5 days? So far I is 3 days charge once with little use.

New Galaxy W, idle no use also need to charge everyday. Anyone facing this issue with recently bought Galaxy W?
