Haha..yea, been having a hard time looking for other running shoe brands here in Kuching besides Nike & Adidas. End up sticking with Adidas to date.  sweat.gif But if not mistaken, Lea at Satok has updated Asics with Kayano 18 and DS Trainer 17 if I didn't recall wrongly. Just that price too high for me. But I've gotten my Adizero F50 2 there too while nowhere to be seen at the other branches, Sawarak Plaza and Riverside. Weird. I've even asked why the other branches doesn't have it but the store assistant didn't know how to answer. hehe. Now I'm counting the days to ENR2012!! Looking forward to it.  biggrin.gif

Hi guys

newbie here, do you guys know where to find Nike+ Sportband?
*
just to let u know...the wristband works with a sensor tat u attached to ur shoelace...the sensor runs on battery...if the battery runs out, then the sensor is end-of-life...needa get a new sensor costing around RM70++...cannot change the battery.. smile.gif

i'm currently used pegasus+ 28, so far so good. i like the cushioning and the stability. for 10k+ run, ok ler, if u have more budget, asics gel kanayo 18 is much better in cushioning and stabilty.

now funding for my next running shoes, gel kayano 18 flex.gif
i used the Nike+ SportBand, and now i'm on my 2nd sensor (but no longer used SportBand)...the 1st sensor died after 1year+...

mind u that the sensor quite cheap compare to Garmin Footpod which cost me Rm240, but the bright-side, can replace the battery.
*
ok. The sensor is the reason tat is holding me back from getting the wristband.. sad.gif wonder if got cheaper sensor tat can work with the wristband.. :hmm; hmm.gif

started off with 1.5km in 2006. was an obese guy.. gradually increased till about 3.5k till i successfully shed my excess weight.

continued running that distance until finally last year took a big leap to participate my 1st HM - SCKLM. trained hard and completed slightly over 2 hours.

found passion in running after participating the running events hence now trying to do at least 6km each session. will increase distance as i develop speed or if i find a running buddy tongue.gif

Well i too use my iphone with an armband. i link it with mapmyrun and time and measure my distance and time.
data plan is needed but then it doesnt take much of ur data plan. it just needed to ensure the map can be displayed.
I tried running with airplane mode and it works for the GPS just the map was not loaded nicely. you can see the squiggly line of ur route.
thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  tongue.gif
When is the registration open?? i clicked it and nothing also. tongue.gif.
looking forward to this.
*
oic. so it requires some data too. nod.gif nod.gif

android user has proved that it does not require data as well smile.gif .. I believed that different apps have a different settings such as the "mapmyrun" that require data to load the map, I have used the "micoach" and the "nike+" which totally do not require any data to track ur pace and distance. The idea of these apps follows the GPS tracking system in the car which does not come with any preinstalled data, what it requires is the satellite signal.
*
oic..so it all depens on what aplication tat one uses rite?..some application requires data while some don't?...so Nike+ and Micoach for android doesn;t requires data?.. smile.gif

pls help to confirm.smile.gif

Nike+ currently only available for iOS but if u only require pace and distance, "Micoach" for android works perfectly for what u needs if u have turned on ur satellite signal.  biggrin.gif
*
so just turn on the satellite signal and the data plan could be off?.. smile.gif

No, just your GPS. Unless you want to upload your route and workout and pace, etc. There is an option for that but requires data. The rest is all your phone's GPS. smile.gif Take less than 15 secs for mine to say "GPS Excellent". smile.gif
*
QUOTE(wct @ Apr 9 2012, 09:57 PM)
Yes, if u wan to upload ur route etc, I suggest go back home and turn on ur wifi then u can upload without charging ur data plan.  rclxms.gif
*
alrite. Looks like GPS requires no data...i need it for the distance and also the running time..tats al..the route am ok with it cos always running the same route. tongue.gif
