RM260 for Adizero Ace 3 ? Thts cheap... how many percent discount is that ? I used Adizero Ace in 2010... finally retired it a couple of months ago after 400+ km, & the outsole came off edi.. too much running in the rain maybe... I ran 2 of my 1st half marathons in it, after that it became my 10K shoes, then my interval/tempo shoes... it didn't last that long for me... too heavy perhaps.. me.. not the shoes.. tongue.gif
*
any other shoes that you would recommend for budget of RM200++?... hmm.gif now i have the ADIZERO ACE 3 M on my radar...any other ones?...i dun mind to spend a bit more as long as it is good protection for my feet and would allow me to run half marathon. smile.gif

pls help to advise me on it sifus.. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif icon_question.gif

shoes that is suitable for underpronation running style notworthy.gif

it's possible to find adizero aces for under rm200 if you look hard enough. i have seen some selling at al-ikhsan and studio r for 199 in the past few months. another option is brooks, some models like green silence and launch will be in the 21x to 23x range after discounts.

personally, i would prefer to get my overseas friends to bring in shoes for me as the prices in m'sia are hella marked up. eg, i got my aces from taiwan for under rm180, same with green silence from the US after conversion. an asics nx2 would cost nearly rm400 here while rm400 would get you 2 pairs in taiwan. sorry for the OT smile.gif
*
oic..so it seems that better to get it from overseas?..but i dun tink i can do tat as i dun reli trust a shoes till i try it on... smile.gif

anyway, the adizero ace is good?... thumbup.gif brooks?..brooks silence?..will check tat out.. smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

any other recommendations?..RM200 to RM300....dun mind to fork out extra RM100 if its gonna b more durable and protect my feet better for half marathon.. smile.gif

the 1st thing you gotta note about ace is that it's a lightweight trainer, so it might not be suitable for you. however, it should be fine if you have a light footstrike. in terms of performance, it's quite durable but not that flexible.

as for brooks green silence, it's actually more of a racer. i wouldn't recommend it unless you have good biomechanics. it's quite cheap in terms of cost and quite flexible too. however, it would suffer a bit when it comes to durability.

the brooks launch is also a lightweight trainer, but better cushioned than the ace. i would rate its durability as the best of the 3 while still being quite flexible. the price is a bit higher than green silence but should still be within 240 after the 30% discount.
*
hmm.gif hmm.gif that mean the brooks launch is much "cushinoner" than ace and at the same time much durable...AND also in the lightweight category?...isn;t this a better deal?..not?

if this is true, the the Brooks launch is top of my list.. tongue.gif

pls advise me on it as i'm a total noob on it.. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

some shoe may not suitable for you.
get professional advise base on ur foot and weight or else ur getting into injury if wrongly pick....
and u need Vaseline to prevent blister if require....
*
hmm.gif if that is the case, then its quite hard to chse base on brand?..so best is to try it on at the shop and if its comfortable and within budget, that would b the suitable shoes?..any advice on tat assumption?.. notworthy.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

my piece of advice is dun buy on brand and price, buy on comfort and injury free.
choose the right 1 rather than perfect 1..vaseline for me not so effective, got 1 kind of powder quite useful to avoid blister..forgot wat's the name dy..

*
sometime there's just too much choices around and quite hard to pick..so thought tat maybe can ask suggestion from sifus here for a one-type-fit-all shoes to get. tongue.gif

and within budget of cuz.. tongue.gif my budget is around Rm200-300. Do lemme know if there's a good one around...

i did come across Adizero Ace at RM330..very light.. smile.gif good one?

ya..,i know tat...coz i face tat dilemma too...
adiddas not my cup of tea, dun feel the shoes is specific for running (my opinion only)
i've tried NB, Nike, asics, brooks...,for me my standing would be
asics, brooks, NB.
asics is excellent in gel cushioning, but a little heavy and weak built in sidewall
brooks is good all round performance, but the gel is more to hard type and thin
NB is sturdiest build of all n tough very good to use as training shoe, but cushioning is complete useless

if u prefer cushion feel go for asics
if u prefer performance Brooks
if u wan cheap n tough shoes NB

200 - 300 can get very sufficient shoes from all these brand i mention already,
because tis budget belongs to entry level so no problem with those.

*
alrite..thans a lot for the information. Will check out asics..since i believe more cushioning is better for the feet?..no?... hmm.gif

Do you guys experience any pain at the side of your lower abdomen while jogging?

I get this sometimes while jogging, its unpredictable. Really messes up my jogging. sad.gif

Is it because of me not breathing properly while jogging? Taking shallow breaths?
*
u mean side stitch?..yes i do...get it from time to time..guess must b my old age.. sad.gif cry.gif

Is there a way to avoid this?
*
i did come across comments or article advising about timing breathing with 2 breathes every 2 steps...but its not practical for myself... (maybe taqts y i still get side stitch tongue.gif ) some said tat more practice and incidence of side stitch will b less frequent. smile.gif guess practice makes perfect...

oh ya..sprinting to catch up with the group and then slowing down will lead to tat too...advise is to run at consistent speed...can try and see how it goes... smile.gif

Hey, is it proper for runners who just started running purchase a very good brand of shoe? A very good brand of shoe as in 300+ like that kind of shoe..

I mean, since we are new to this why dont we buy a normal running shoes first and then after that upgrade to a better ones as time goes.

I think this issue was discussed earlier on this thread..
*
it all depends on individual..i'm sure u won't be happy if i tell how to spend ur hard earned money rite?.. smile.gif so,can't reli say whether its proper onot...

some people likes to buy smth tat would make them feel proud ( AND its not to show off)..some people just wanna invest in the best tehnology.. smile.gif

up to individual. smile.gif

Lea Centre in Kuching do carry Asics but I can't recall seeing NB. Probably need to check it out on your side if they carry Asics too.
Btw, just my opinion that you could probably do with off season shoes on any brands which will be around your budget or less. Grab a pair which fits comfortably and you're set to run. Experience what running brings to you and enjoy the run. The longer you're into running and serious about it, the more your body/ leg will adapt and tell your needs, that's when you start to consider any changes in shoe types and other specifics. As a starter, keep running simple and, fun. smile.gif

lea in Riverside got some asics..but all outdated. all on discount btw.. tongue.gif Conelli in TheSpring also got a few...no discount, but eaqually outdated ones.. smile.gif
