lol... no such thing, if it is not hybrid, it won't even be below the price of Petrol only version of Jazz. It is either qualified (<2.0l Hybrid) or not qualified (>2.0l Hybrid or non hybrid) for the 100% import duty & excise tax exemptions. No such definition of "Not fully hybrid" in their policy.

and no, our Cronies BN government is not giving us tax rebate, just exemption. still have the cost of AP (god knows how much they charge or "Pocketed" for AP) and 10% Sales Tax

I guess the only reason is Honda Malaysia don't want to kill honda city sales and too "tamak" so mark up higher

- they don't want to kill City sales, especially with the facelift coming (which is quite ugly)
- they have to retain the current Jazz 1.5 customers so that they wont go into rage mode because the Jazz 1.5 value for sure will drop even more.
- they need to bring the model pricing closer back to the Jazz 1.5 so that it wont look awkward with the huge price gap (115k vs 85k)

That is actually quite sad, they should price it lower to encourage ppl to adopt greener cars. Oh well, this is Malaysia, you can never guess when the cronies government is going to withdraw those exemptions...so i guess Honda Malaysia is not taking any chances and try to earn the most of it for Hybrid cars for this few years..

We need change! whistling.gif

It is still worth it, if compare to the Petrol only Jazz counterpart

and not too mention the much lesser tax and duty that have to be paid to our gov to let them live like kings and queens and spend it like nobody business (This is one of the main reason I bought Insight thumbup.gif )

I think we are missing one point. Toyota Prius C can ge 35km for 1 litres so what is the performance for this Honda Jazz Hybrid ? It is a 96K versus 94K investment question.

Go to http://toyota.jp/aqua/001_p_001/spec/spec/index.html to find
out the spec for Toyota Aqua if you got a JP Window installed.

By the way Honda Jazz=Fit in Japan or not but I am not sure because got many variation like fully EV etc,
Toyota Prius C - Aqua in Japan.

According to this site www.honda.co.jp/Fit/webcatalog/ecology
Fit Hybrid 1.3L in Japan has a fuel consumption of 30km/L

Definitely Toyota Prius C is the better choice for fuel efficiency. Otherwise Honda Jazz has a more
stylist look. Maybe Honda Jazz 1.3L (85K) is better for cost performance

if they can achieve 35km/l as claimed in real life that it is a superb investment. The original Prius they quoted 38km/l, but most real life users get around 19 to 25km/l

i doubt Honda Jazz can achieve that in real life situation too.. more of 19 to 23km/l

unless both cars are driven at constant speed of 70 to 80km/h with unlimited supply of battery power, then yes, that is very possible

Added on March 15, 2012, 12:37 pmA more accurate and real life comparison of average fc for Insight, Prius, Prius C and Civic Hybrid... They don't have Fit Hybrid in the States yet.

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?act...=32183&id=31190

From there you can see that all the advertisement here only shows super ideal condition. While in the States they have to show real life average mpg

Update from a serious Honda salesman comparing Prius C to Hybrid
(to be fair to Honda)

Prius C/Jazz Hybrid
Capacity :
1.5L/1.3L
Japan10.15 Fuel Consumption comparison :
35.4/30 (km/L)
Waranty :
3 years on both engine and battery/3 years on engine and 5 years on battery
Battery cost :
12K/7K
Honda salesman said the Prius cannot run without a battery while honda jazz Hybrid still work even without a battery.
Availability :
4.5 months/7 days for silver and green Jazz

but I have not testdrive yet so don't know.

The pricing dissappoinment was created by Honda themselves, just look at the number of ads in Mudah putting the car at 85 to 87K in the same time putting a lot hopes in a lot of ppl including myself...lol

Was ready to get this car for the wifey but now have to cancel plan..

ive check out the car again today.. visit honda to place my booking for crz. Honestly the jazz is worth it eventho priced at 95k, it make sense also price cant be cheaper than the ckd honda city or else it'll create havoc or prob gov dont let it.

but at price with almost 15k cheaper than previous jazz, u still get all the space,.jazz seats tech, 8 airbags, better fuel eco, auto aircond, rain sensor, hybrid tech than previous jazz. i say it is a pretty good deal. I cant think of any car now that kinda range have same spec and all above.

same range ex-

Went test driving the new Jazz since my kelik kept promoting it so much. Actually it's not as bad as I thought. Power is there and we r doing our part for mother nature too. Hehe. I mean 95K for a fully imported Japanese car is a small price to pay. I think need to wait 2-3 months for the car. Heard that they r building a new factory for Jazz to be made locally end of the year. So better get this CBU now. Tempted.

Then I itchy hand and go test drive CRZ. The SA asked me if I know to drive manual or not?! Haha!! Put to first gear and set to sport mode. The car like wanna fly. Cool!! Even managed to tail an Audi A8 during the long stretch. Eventually I lose of course. Haha!! But the car is really good. Just that it's not suitable for me as I'm starting a family soon. So this is out of the question.

jazz hybrid or insight hybrid is just a normal car to maintanence. Just follow the price and won't have any big trouble on this.

Outside shop didn't have any info how to service the hybrid car at the moment but if they have info or the service manual, nothing is impossible.

Added on March 30, 2012, 10:39 am
jazz hybrid or insight hybrid is just a normal car to maintanence. Just follow the price and won't have any big trouble on this.

Outside shop didn't have any info how to service the hybrid car at the moment but if they have info or the service manual, nothing is impossible.

I think i will stick to SC coz wanna maintain the IMA or battery warranty..unless i wanna go exchange K20 inside Jazz later laugh.gif flex.gif

No discount according to the SA that normally new model normally don't have discount but he willing the reduce some of her commission.

Btw, did you buy any accessories, like spoiler from them, worth to buy original or outside?
*
Outside parts i dont have contact or known seller unless fiber bodykit shop. I take all the accessories..but some how i wanna ask the SA whether can cancelled the step garnish & room light..i dont see the point of installing it..better opt better tint or install new security system

booked the jazz, initially wanted the insight but insight in terms of leg room is smaller than the jazz. booked black but SA said earliest can get is end of April. So he offered me the silver instead, getting it this Saturday!

I saw the accessories offered by Honda Malaysia, I think the spoiler is the most worthy. the side step garnish my SA said its stick on like a sticker, better get it outside.

As for Connex, definitely worthy as it offers you peace of mind. If your car is stolen, you will be compensated RM5000 immediately for inconvenience, if it is not recovered within 72 hours , ud get compensated cash RM10000, and then subsidy of RM15000 off your next Honda. Just by loosing your car u'd get RM30k on top of your insured value, and Honda's insurance is quite good. Give you full! Take that money (Connex; RM30k + Sum insured= RM92k= RM122k and u can upgrade yourself to a new ride. biggrin.gif

Heard there were alot of fraud cases whereby they try to make their own cars disappear!

yeah, one of the reasons i change from black to silver, coz fast smile.gif unfortunately no discounts or promo for the Connex (to my knowledge) but good thing is that you can add it to your loan, no need to out fork cash in one go!

i was planning to get an insight, turned to cr-z but i would prefer jazz over insight if i would to buy a roomier car with hybrid tech.. even compared to prius c, that 1 extra paddle airbag doesnt seems to make a big diff lol.. ppl comparing jazz only got 6 airbag and prius got 7! but where is the 1 come from? bottom leg tiny airbag :/

haha right I mean at the end of the day the extra air bag does help I suppose . " depending on the impact" well if the extra airbag will feel much safer for the owner, by all means go ahead with it.

but I think the advantage for both cars is the CBU thingy. If the prius C would be slightly bigger, i would have fall for it as well smile.gif

nevertheless is preference cause there is always Toyota and Honda Fan boys around

Got the car for a week, basically it is city car with quiet engine if maintain below 2.5k rpm, however the top glove box do make some noise due to hard plastic material, the IMA do help at low speed but not smooth when it engaged, better leg room and head room compare to insight. Cheers smile.gif

actually, if you physically count the number of airbags in the car, the Jazz has 8 airbags in total. Dealers advice Honda HQ but they already printed the catalog and brochures in the thousands already!

car arrived showroom and did PDI already. Today getting it tinted and sand blast no. plate to the windows, and registering. Tonight or tomorrow should be out.

Anyway, saw the spoiler on the test drive car, and to me doesnt look good. I prefer it without the spoiler, just my personal taste i guess. smile.gif

Haha, have not taken any photo yet; didn't calculate the fuel consumption yet, first refill 32 liters with 400+ km on the trip meter, all city drive. Performance is adequate for town driving except the auto shut may caused some delay at junction, so i prefer to use s mode with the peddle shifter, Overall it is a fun car to drive and the look is more suitable for ladies. No plan to add cosmetic changes to avoid addtional weight wink.gif

I'm also considering a Jazz Hybrid, but curious on the leg room bit. Is it there is more leg room for the driver or passenger in the Jazz hybrid?

Also just wondering in the audio department if the Jazz Hybrid comes with 2,4 or 6 speakers? Seems like some indicated is 2, while some is 6. Just wondering how many are actually installed? biggrin.gif

Hi guys, thanks for the info:) How's the car going by the way? Hopefully the milegae is up to expectations.

I'm pretty much set on the Jazz with the only exception being is the concern about battery deterioration under the hot sun. Not sure if that will happen though or is a no issue.

Got the car on Friday noon, so far i've clocked about 320km. My consumption so far is averaging about 5.6l/100km, i think it can do better, as i was trying real world driving, driviing about 120-130kmh on the highway.

I think the 5 years warranty on battery should put your fears away, or do like most ppl do, sell your car when it reaches 5 years old smile.gif

I hope it is just wishful thinking smile.gif. Even if tax is re-introduced I don't think consumers will be so dumb as to pay price+tax for 2nd hand when they know the vehicle was registered during a tax-exempt year. hmm.gif

Guess anything is possible. Won't be the first time the resale price of a car goes up due to certain events e.g price hike etc. But i'd give it 50/50, coming from a person that still doesn't own the jazz hybrid (me). Saw quite a few on the road and they look good.

Do you mind to let us know which location you have force to pay extra money on this ? Sabah / Sarawak ?

CBU car for sure need Puspakom check, but I didn't know need to pay this premium fees.

One thing if you have doubt, please contact Honda Malaysia directly and tell them the issue. They will check your name and investigate for you on this. That's tip I can help right now.

I stay klang valley.
I called Honda just now.
The registration fees is giving to runner where help me register my car with plat number ABC1234 in JPJ.
Do you all encounter this? How come extra RM100 to register that vehicle to JPJ where not include in OTR price?

While the inspection fees , Honda Malaysia no need pay. I already call SA to reconfirm.

Full tank, umbrella, carpet and rm250 rebate. Thats all. Honda seems hard to give more. Even tinted also need to fork out my own money.

the rm100, RM50 goes to runner, RM50 goes to JPJ, if you dont want to pay the RM100, you can register the car yourself, thats why it is not listed on OTR price. smile.gif

hello sifu here,I heard that some air cond issues about honda hybrid. When driving with ECO mode on, the air cond will not as cold as normal mode, or stop functioning? Some owners said it the air cond only stop functioning while the car stop and put to N, then the air cond will stop function for fuel saving purpose, is that so?

ps: not bashing here, i'm damn stim jazz hybrid, it is in my to-buy-list now... juz wanna make things clear before make the decision.. hahaha biggrin.gif

not an issue actually, its a feature of the car, very simple to overcome this, if you are feeling hot, just switch off ECON mode or set the temp much lower than the outside temp

ECOTint same with noobling. Coz Honda SC is just beside my house, so anything happen, find them ...

No bodykit .. just don't want to add anything "yet" that might impact fuel consumption.

My baby stroller that can fit into Perodua Kenari is able to fit into this Jazz. I am not sure how big is urs, but you can use relativity to measure.

I go no problem with my older Jazz.
It seems like the newer Jazz's booth is bigger.
btw, not really sure how HUGE is the stroller,
maybe you bring along when visit SA.
if "malu" maybe you can measure the stroller,
then I measure my car booth spacing.

drove the car to singapore on the weekend. 3 hours drive at average speed of 130km/h , averaging 6.4l/100km, overall i really enjoy the ride, not too bumpy, not too soft, since the bottom of the jazz is somewhat sealed up, you dont really feel the wind drag.

since i commute daily from sban to kl, i think i will stick to my eco driving, ave about 5.1l/100km smile.gif

Yup, no spare tyre. Just like Honda stream.
For the tyre repair kit, my sale assistance gave me training..
the steps seems easier than changing tyre.
No place to keep spare tyre, but the jack and tool is there.

can call honda for their towing service ..

I believe the auto lock feature when driving or brake or gear change is not available on jazz. U need to manual auto lock it by pressing the button.

Added on April 26, 2012, 7:49 amthe auto-stop feature is really killing the driving experience during jam. Don't really like the small jerk when releasing the brake to resume the engine, but need to get use to it .. smile.gif

Oh. But after you fix the tyre, how do you pump air into the tyre? eventually the repair kit is useless right. still the car cannot move. Unless go buy a spare tyre. haha

If you put to S mode the auto stop will not function.

u can add yourself in any accessory shop. yup, no bluetooth, but then again if u want bluetooth can just change HU.

Added on April 26, 2012, 2:31 pmi think shud just get use to the auto stop feature, it is designed for fuel efficiency after all. unless the weather outside is bright and sunny, then yes perhaps you do not want the auto stop function.

So if the tint free for you, means super cheap one.

@Quanta & @gid
Jazz Hybrid Cobra Alarm is the same as Insight Cobra Alarm, so you all can enable the beep beep sound.
But for autolock I guess you try to check the Owner manual see if the MID menu is there for owner to enable or not.
For Insight is dun have. Hopefully Jazz Hybrid seem like a premium spec and perhaps have this option.

@Quanta & @gid
Video for enable the alarm buzzer for Honda Hybrid car.

DIY Insight Alarm Buzzer ( Suitable for Jazz Hybrid too )

checked with Honda, the Cobra module in our Jazz do not have autolock function. If you want that feature, you will need to purchase an extra module for that. Not sure how much it cost, but you can check with Cobra.

checked with Honda on this also, only OEM spoiler available, perhaps the body kit that you have seen was installed by a third party. But i feel that this spoiler not very fitting, haha. Prefer the Mugen spoiler instead. Just my opinion.

Honda UK has 1 year or 12500km service interval
http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/partsan...priceservicing/

Honda India has 10000km service interval (claim is through forum)
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-drives-...age-10-a-8.html

Surprisingly, SOuth Africa, the service interval is 15000km
http://www.autoworld.co.za/NewCarDisplay2.aspx?Variant=15201

Hmm why our Malaysia one so kiasu? Is the oil filter that we are using different from other countries?

i thought soo ! wow quite a good research you have there.

if you talk about the weather in India VS malaysia - if india can tahan 15000km i don't see why Malaysia can't

not sure about the oil filter variants for our car.

Let say when jam in highway, so the gear in D, I press break, so light is green, if change gear to N, it green also, is that means both same in term of fuel consumption ?

Another que: I shift to N, pull handbrake, light change to Blue, is that means press break better then pull handbrake?

@nestortcy

the system design to save fuel by pressing brake ( which is green color on your odometer & RPM is Zero). If you pull handbrake and release the brake, then the engine will kick back and petrol start using.

Both gear D and N will be same fuel consumption when you press the brake during the stop.

The engine start/stop causing some small jerk when the engine kick in.
Will it cause any more engine wear/tear since it start/stop so frequent ?
Any way to disable the stop/idle, sometimes it cause some inconveneince and annoyance when we stop to scan and waiting for the gate to open, the engine stop for few second and start back again.

You should go to a couple of branches to enquire. Some may have ex-stock so you don't have to wait so long

Hi, I wanna ask the Jazz hybrid owner, is it true that the car can be driven like a normal 1.3 car if the hybrid function is switched off? Does it mean that the car runs solely on engine without using the battery? Or does it still runs with battery even with the ECON function is off? Anyone can explain? icon_question.gif Thanks!

I have a contact that quoted me the mugen spoiler RM300 and if i'm not mistaken its inclusive of painting & installation

and he also quoted me full set Mugen Jazz hybrid bodykit is RM1950.

This is the contact person Jason: 0122154223, perhaps you can call him to confirm if its inclusive painting and installation.

and these are the pictures that he emailed me:

Btw please add on behalf of my wife's milano red... smile.gif

Oh ok, thanks for the info, guess I'll prefer the modulo spoiler than the Mugen.

The Modulo spoiler kinda makes the car looks bigger, also we are looking to change the front grille and my wife was planning to tint the rear taillights which I wasn't too keen on.

The modulo spoiler is the spoiler in the Silver Jazz picture.

Actually there are loads of bodykit choices for the hybrid Jazz since its no different from the 1.5 Jazz.

time to get out from your coconut shell

This is an era where imported goods are no longer of superior quality. Its all about coast cutting and high profit margin in all industries nowadays.

this is the condition of the rim after 4 days of driving (1 day about 50km with jam @ PG bridge)

I say it is not that bad. Try to observe P2 Alza front rim on the road and you will know what I am talking about.

Nice stuffs, looks like just a simple addition to the front and rear bumper.

Would consider this if its available here, its gonna save alot of addtional weight comparing to the Mugen front and back skirting.

yes by reading the meter on dashboard. I can't give the real calculated consumption yet coz I need 2nd refill to get the calculation right. 1st one gone coz din reset the meter after taking my car from SA.

My objective is to see which petrol is better coz as far as my experience with Kenari, Shell consume more petrol, 7.8l/100km to 8.1l/100km. My Kenari suited caltex or Petronas average about 7.7l/100km and with more power to overtake cars at PG bridge.

So I want to collect data from forumers here.

15K is more than enough for the min 10% downpayment. You will be paying around RM 900 a month if to take 9 years loan with that 15K downpayment and around RM 960 if you were to pay RM10K for the downpayment.

Rates for new Honda car irregardless of which bank is between 2.4% - 2.5%

Myself got 2.44% from Affin Bank when taking the 9 yr loans for both our CRZ & Jazz Hybrid.

5.8L/km is not a really impressive figure for a hybrid. Insight has been reported to be having around 4.8 - 5.0 L/km and i'd expect Jazz to be better because it's lighter by 50kg comparing to Insight.

again, fuel consumption is very subjective, i am getting about 5.0l/100km with mixture of highway and city driving and i'm averaging about 90-100km/h on the highway.

I really not get use don't have the auto lock and always tend to forgot to lock my car when I am driving. Anyone go install the auto lock and will it void Hondas warranty?

If anyone does, how much is the cost, I know the security system is from Cobra, do I need to go back to Cobra?

Possible, throttle must be minimal like stepping on an egg. Try maintaining RPM below 1,500, so far i only got full EV mode at 70km/h

It is normal, how many times = how many traffic light. (no carbon monoxide release "Clean")
start and stop is not using starter any more. no more .. kik hik hik hik.. vroom that hurt the battery.
starting will be turning the engine by using motor.

For those who want to buy Honda Hybrid, please get a Sales Assistance that know in and out of the car.

It is the feature of Jazz Hybrid and as well as Insight. If you feel irritating, you can turn on the demister or change your gear from D to S.

Also I just noticed that my car roll back when auto stop is on. Lesson learn when climbing hill or stop at slope during jam, I always engaged S.

Test Drive the Jazz yesterday... Love it!

But a few queries:

1) Lack of spare tyre - an issue if travel outstation?
2) Air con - if stuck in non moving jam in KL, means air con off? If put on Nuetral and handbrake, air con on?
3) Going on highway 110,120..... will it feel underpowered?

@Quanta

You need to press the brake harder before you release, then your car won't roll back before you start moving. This is call Creep Aid System. Try alone at some small hill then you can appreciate this little piece technology.

I used to drive the petrol Honda Jazz ivtec and swtiched over to this hybrid. Attached is the picture of the mileage from Perak to Petaling Jaya. For me that's a good saving while driving at around 110km/h. My previous Jazz it will come down to almost half tank.

Oh btw, for those who bought hybrid car from PJ between Dec 2011 - Oct 2012, you can apply for MBPJ free parking (3 months)

3) Going on highway 110,120..... will it feel underpowered?
*
1 . There's a kit to fix puncture tyre that comes with the car. The kit has an electronic pump + a liquid sealant. It might look complicate for some.

2. if you don't drive in eco mode then the air cond is still active.

3. so far i've tried that speed in eco mode, but you will have problem overtaking. If you swtich that mode then you can easily overtake. It's using CVT transmission, for me it's smooth.

Visva, since you have owned two different version Jazz so i'd like to ask you something.

During our last test drive on the Hybrid Jazz, I kinda feel that the sound proofing is not as good as the conventional petrol Jazz.

Am I right or my senses are being funny to me?..lol

The petrol jazz was also quiet. But there's little difference, the hybrid was lesser but nothing much to boast about.

Either than that, the steering handling in the hybrid jazz was more lighter. I also prefer the michelin tyre that was fitted in hybrid and i would strictly advice to stay with michelin or higher if you're changing ur tyre since you don't have a backup tyre.

Just curious, did any of you buy additional lock to lock up your car? A few months back in the star paper, it stated that the thieves uses a device to disarmed the immobilizer.

Any locks suggested?

My SA suggested one that cost rm800, the lock beside the gear lever.

You can consider to use brake lock. I am using it with my 2011 Jazz. Look for LockTech. Quite convenient to use and have double lock.

Is that the brake lock where you pull the lever underneath the steering to activate it? If yes, i too used that in my petrol Jazz (2008). However now Honda does not encourage that for the hybrid jazz. Reason given: there was a case after accident this lever actually hits the knee.
I don't know it this was a salesman talk or for real.

Yes, that type of brake lock. It is quite famous brand LockTech. Every car should be the same, no matter hybrid or petrol. I found the lock is quite hidden underneath and it does not really hit the knee. If during crash and the steering collapse until that level, that is very serious already.

Our Honda SA quoted us around RM 350 for the double locks (Taiwan) and can be install at anytime at the Honda SC.

According to her there are two versions, one made in China which is less than RM300 and another one made in Taiwan.

Yep, waited for almost a month since making the booking.

Was suppose to receive the CRZ this week but now postponed to maybe next week coz according to SA, the new batch arrived but still waiting Customs clearance.

And the next Jazz batch suppose to arrive end of this month but there is a buyer who decided to postpone car collection so the SA then allocated the car to us so we gonna get the Jazz tomoro smile.gif , wife is getting very excited...lol

Try to ask Honda USJ since its nearest to your place, otherwise the easiest way to check is to search for SA contacts in Mudah.my

Usually immediate stock is due to customer cancelling or postponing their car purchase coz for CBU cars Honda now only bringing the cars according to the number of orders they received.

How do you get 4.x 1/100km? I'm at 5.4-5.8 usually in eco mode. I don't do sudden acceleration or braking. I drive around 60-70 in city area and 110-120 almost constant or in cruise mode. Is there any special tips to get the mileage lower. I couldn't archive the full crown from the car rating although my dashboard shows green most of the time.

Secondly from here i saw some one posted to charge your battery, put to Neutral and ram up to about 3000 rpm. Is that correct to do? I don't see this method in the manual or did i miss it out?

PROPOSAL FOR AN OFFICIAL FORUM FOR OUR HONDA HYBRIDS.

I do not have the knowledge to build an official forum.
I would like to suggest, whoever is capable to do this, I think is a good Idea to have an official forum for our honda hybrids to have a official forum. Insight, Jazz Hybrid and CRZ. All in one official Forums. This is a good way to communicates, discussion, trouble shoots and ETC...

i did 4.8l/100km once before only. But that involves driving very light footed, aircon temp on auto usually at 25-26C. I avoid using the cruise control as consumption only increases as it will try to maintain at the speed you've set.

For me its possible to achieve that as i travel 120km daily from home to work, 70pc highway 30pc city driving. smile.gif 5.4-5.8 is actually quite decent already for city driving.

That sounds like a good idea to me. At least something to bridge all the Honda hybrid users.

Btw there is no Civic hybrid thread in lowyat?

From my understanding, it will take some time to achieve the full crown. Its something like a lifetime achievement award for driving eco friendly for a long period of time.

I've heard of this before and I was told this is to charge the IMA battery for example if you dont drive the car at all for more than a week. Then again conventional petrol car will also need to be started at least once a week if the car is left without being driven for a long time. So i don't see any big issues with that.

Since its not in the manual so it could be just another hybrid myth? tongue.gif

Hm..but facebook in not so practical.
is it better to have a proper sections so ppl wont have a repeated questions and answers. Easy for reader to search for specific topics.

examples sections:-

-General Discussion
-Engine & Performance Modifications
-Exterior Styling & Bodywork
-Wheels, Suspension & Tyres
-Interior Modifications, Security Gadgets & Other Gizmos
-ICE Cold Modifications
-Technical Discussion and Issues
-DIY Projects

another problem, some work place cant access to facebook, like my ofice sad.gif

If u checked the pressure after a long drive in hot daytime then the reading is not so accurate due to air expansion in the tyres.

Usually its recommended to check/air refill tyre pressure in the morning or late evening. smile.gif

30psi front, 29psi back; but Honda suggested 33 front, 32back which i feel very bumpy
*
I found tyre pressure when I first collect the car is nice, regret didn't jot them down.

After first service this Monday, start feeling dizzy when driving, pressure was the suggested 33 front 32 back.

Search internet "general rule" is a couple of psi more than factory recommendation, trying 35 front 33 back now, which is found from internet suggested for Honda Jazz petrol version with 175/65 tyre, not too bad, but still looking for any better.

I was told that Honda has a retention programme whereby if you have purchased a honda car between 2003-2009, you are eligible to get rm 1000 discount. This has nothing to do with the salesman's discount.

What petrol that most of you use?
For my Jazz 2008 model i found petronas was a better savings. I also use shell ron95, (pickup was slightly lower).
For the hybrid version shell and petronas are like identical interms of pickup and savings. Have not tried other to see.

a basic knowledge
the faster a car can go, the wider and bigger tire require. jazz hybrid is lower horse power, and fuel economy. so a smaller and lighter tire is require to archived better fuel saving.

u can change to 185/55, just u will loose abit of fuel saving and slight better handling.

I see.. but the SA told me actually hybrid is equvailent to 1.5l, with IMA, is that true? I remember I tried to google around before I bought the car and somewhere said the same too.. but I can feel pick up is a bit slow, not sure about petrol version.

no matter what the SA said, the horse power is still smaller than 1.5. A head to head race, jazz hybrid will loose to 1.5 jazz. The whole idea of hybird car is for environment friendly and drive normal to achieved good fuel consumption.

lets put it this way, 1.3 + ima, is good enough for daily drive, out station, or even going up genting. u can travel top speed up to 160km/h or even more than that. so no worries on comparing with 1.5 jazz

Tried the econ mode on a busy highway, bad idea...felt like a sitting duck with all the cars zooming past me. I guess it will be useful only in traffic jams and city drive in the middle of KL.

Yep, realized that yesterday when we were doing the pre delivery car check up with the SA.

I asked her what is the third layer of the tailight for and she wasn't too sure and was looking for the switch. Finally I found out its the rear fog lamp and only the right side contain the light bulb but peeking thru the left side I can see that there is no hole but there's a circle outline.

Shouldn't be difficult to made a cut out on the left side tailight and add an additional bulb if you want to, we did that before for our 2004 Vios taillight, adding bulbs to the center panel.

That's it Energy XM1.. smile.gif

Slippery as in not much grip if I were to apply slight more throttle when accelerating out of sharp bends..

You are right, overall is a good tyre, comfort is there and road noise is very minimal.

Why don't you get the Prius C if you are concern about power. Prius C has 1.5 litre engine with full Hybrid synergy vs Jazz 1.3 with IMA hybrid. Go read up about Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive Vs Honda's IMA and you will find that Hybrid Synergy Drive is way better. I'm not here to flame so don't bombard me please. I am here to share and I believe everyone should at least know the facts before spending their hard earn cash on hybrid car. Prius C is only a few thousand Ringgit more but you get more powerful engine and a host lot more advance features like Smart Key with keyless start.

In the end its your money so if you choose whatever car, the most important thing is you like it.

I tried both car before I made decision, personally, I still like jazz concept and the question I asked is just to understand even better (you won't know 100% of the Car capability before you really own it). I know Toyota is like full hybrid and Jazz tech is a bit behind before I bought but thanks for your comment :-).. I bought Jazz is more towards personal preference.

For Honda dealers, the package is more or less the same for the Jazz hybrid.. choose either cash rebates or free tinting,

Depending on the SA, some will throw in extras such as smart tag or full tank..etc

We opt for the security tint and receive a Honda umbrella and fridge magnets during delivery... tongue.gif

I can say 1.3 + IMA is as good as jazz 1.5l without eco mode.

2 things that annoys me... reverse gear aint that powerful, need to press more to get the power.

Auto stop in traffic situation becoming really annoying. Of course there are several ways to disable that.

Petrol saving is especially when i go out for dinner nearby... it's like my petrol tank almost never reduce...

smile.gif, yep..total estimated range from the display add to be 649km in total.

Prius C looks quite good for the front bt kinda fail on the back and interior. Don't like the steering design as well.

No problem to share info bro.. smile.gif

Looking at the current political scenario, most likely any new policy will be after the elections. I guess it could be retrospectively but maybe just 1 year?

According to my wife Jazz's engine grunt is quite loud as well when accelerating hard going up a steep slope.

Yep, space was also one of the main reason why we chose Jazz over Prius C. The boot space of Jazz is not bad considering that we can fit a baby walker, a light baby stroller and 2 grocery bags smile.gif

That's what the meter indicate but it could change depending on how you drive the car.

First fill up was around RM 68 for 35 liters after taking delivery of the car.

How much for subsequent fill up, maybe other earlier owners can advice you... smile.gif

Tested drive in PLUS highway when balik kampung, 9cents per km for 110kmj to 120kmj

For normal driving to work, it smash 10cents in average.

For me still cost saving abit hopefully the battery cost will reduce in future.

The SA told me currently the battery cost around RM7K and I forsee the price could be lower in the future if there are more and more hybrid users. smile.gif

Can check with you all :
1. After you service the car, do the service center return you the remaining engine oil ? Or they finish use already?

2. I still failed to enable the car alarm sound, do anything success ?

QUOTE(MetalMic @ May 19 2012, 12:03 AM)
Tried the econ mode on a busy highway, bad idea...felt like a sitting duck with all the cars zooming past me. I guess it will be useful only in traffic jams and city drive in the middle of KL.

Drove to Penang from KL twice with Econ mode. No problems to hit 120 km/h easily.

Also no problem to climb the slopes after Jalan Duta, Tapah and Menora Ipoh after Ipoh. Based on 30% KL/PJ city driving and 70% of highway driving for my 1st 1000 km mileage, the fuel consumption is 5.1L/100km. Not bad.

Don't confuse readers. U mean 230KPA and not PSI. standard psi pressure is 32 or 33 PSI.

IF 230 PSI, tire can't take that pressure.

Man, that is a whopping 40psi!.. lol, don't worry ler the tyres wont be damaged so long the pressure are not more than maximum permissible.

Don't think they can do anything about the rattling from the boot board

Am considering whether to get a Jazz Hybrid or a new FL honda city.

In terms of spacious and comfort of the ride what do u guys think? Put aside performance.

Can't comment much since never really sat in a 2010 City before but City FL boot space definitely bigger than Jazz.

Cabin space maybe Jazz is bigger.

Comfort should be more or less the same for both but expect City to have lower body roll.

I guess best way for you to find out is to test drive both cars.. smile.gif

ok..
jazz fully imported from japan, tax free, its a bargain.
check the price of insight, crz or other hybrid cars in singapore. it cost a bomb.

hybrid safe fuel.

honda city fl, local assemble. nothing much to be wow about. but u have bigger space especially boot space. fuel consumption, not as good as hybrid, but better than other cars.

if space and performance is not a problem for u, then jazz hybrid is the choice.

Test-ed drive Jazz and not too bad afterall. The car may look small but as spacious as city inside i feel.

And one thing good is the height. Yea but too bad the boot space is very limited.

Hows the waiting list currently? Any idea?

I took my car last week and by now the mileage is about 2500km due to my frequent travel. Configure to reset my trip A whenever I pump petrol. Now, I can track my fuel consumption easily. For highway, I managed to get 4.5l/100km at speed +/-100km/h. So far, happy about this car.
