Hi sifus, is this setup suitable for my baby xbgh aro?
Bottom, back, sides i use white paint spray outside of the tank.
Only front use white bg sticker.. does it count as WTT?

Best result you need a fiberglass to WTT the Aro.

Good luck in your grooming up a xbgh.

Sifu, WTT still works if i use this setup right?
Is it ok to use a 18w lightbulb that is equavalent to 100w?
And must I turn the lightbulb on 24/7?

Thanks alot for replying! rclxm9.gif sweat.gif biggrin.gif

I no Sifu...just a fish hobbyists like everyone here.

As I know...u need a fiberglass tank to get the best WTT result. Normal fluorescent light on 24/7. Add the Arowana Vital vitamin.

I think that's it. Hope other can contribute their knowledge in WTT.

I think only 1 type Arowana Vital. Expensive 😢

U can get the fiberglass tank at your local aquarium shop.

Update 1 week after put into this tank *sorry for potato camera*
Current size 4 inch
Has a gold spot above the gill (is it a sign of Golden head?)

White Paint sprayed on: Back, Left, Right, Bottom of the tank
White background sticker on the Front of the tank.

Would like some suggestions to improve my arowana grooming technique..

Thank you all. And chrisoys for suggestions! Happy Lunar New Year! biggrin.gif XD

Hi folks,

I would like to start a whole new tank with a new aro from beginning.

I've plan to purchase:

- 4ft x 2ft x 2ft tank
- Filter
- Heater
- thermometer
- Oxygen pump

Hope all sifus able to answer my questions:

Do I need circulator for aeration?
Do I need a larger tank for long run? I think to get Golden Xback or super red

What is full bacterial/Ammonia cycle for a tank?

btwn, what is PLJ?

Sorry i'm a bit noob here.

If you are looking at long term here is your min requirement:-

- Xback tank 5x2x2 , Red tank 5x2.5x2.5
- Sump tank filter
- Quality sump tank water pump (Eheim or Fluval)
- ACDC air pump
- Invest in quality Bio Media (Eheim & K1)
- Tanning light

Let your new tank run it min 2 weeks with some Lampam fish. Add some beneficial bacterial for speedup the cycle process.

I think that about it.

PLJ = Protruding Lower Jaw
Usually is due to genetic or not enough feeding.

Hope above help. Good Luck!
