Hello all sifus, a small sharing from me in starting my Arowana hobby after two weeks of research and hunting for equipment. Finally everything settled down.

I got myself a 5 inch SHB gold with red tail as per owner from Next Aquainnovation in Kepong for RM250.00 as a start up.

Currently i am placing my baby in a 3.5ft white tank with 2x Blue+White LED light (default light system in tank set) for 24 hours. Hopefully my baby dragon will grow into something beautiful in long run. I am planning to move it into a 6 ft tank after 1 year. I am feeding my aro with longkang guppy fry because it refused to eat red worm sad.gif .

I set up a feeder fish tank for quarantine purpose before i feed them to my baby arowana to reduce risk in disease transmission.

My tank consist of
1 x SHB Arowana (RM250.00)
2 x Pleco (RM10.00)
1 x Gold Lampan (RM5.00)

Allow me to share the cost of all equipments that i bought for those who curious in start up their hobby biggrin.gif

Arowana tank (Temporary)
3.5ft tank set = RM 950.00 (comes with 2 x led light, cover, cabinet, tank and filter system) Fyi, i removed the default filter because i prefer canister filter.
EJet canister filter 3368= RM 140
Thermometer = RM 3.50
Small air pump = RM 10.00
Air stone = RM 0.80
(Sixty Two Marine Aquarium-reasonable price for all sort of tank size)

Water Heater 200w = Rm 28.00
(Xian Leng Aquarium Shah Alam)

Feeder Fish Tank
2 Ft tank = RM 31.00
Top filter with pump 1200 L/Hour = Rm 28.00
(Cheras Aquarium)

I'm no sifu but just a beginner as you but curious if you do a full bacterial/Ammonia cycle before you introduce your Arowana?

market price varies depending upon golden covering area on the head. but generally price will be above rm 1k.

FYI. golden head can lose their 'golden head' if not taken care properly.

Thanks, will try to take another video, the fish currently recovering from ammonia poisoning, blackout during weekend and the tank-mate lampam and kelah dead turning the water into smelly soup like.

He is luckily survived after 30% water change for 4 days everyday.

Even some of the scale drop and the eye blur2 on both side.

Now with heater at 30degree and water change every two days to recover.

Hi guys.. need help from the sifus here... I just bought an arowana from a supplier, claimed as 24k crossback golden arowana.

attached is the videos of the arowana...

my confusion is, i can see that even the level 6 is already showing the gold frame, but why is that the body have a kind like horse shoe... been doing some research online and i found out that is similar to banjar red (with horseshoe)... can it actually be a banjar red instead of crossback? unsure.gif

im currently putting the arowana under bright light for tanning... but switched it off and change to normal light while taking the video so it would look clearer.

can the sifus here verify my arowana... and am i being conned? unsure.gif

Hi sifus, is this setup suitable for my baby xbgh aro?
Bottom, back, sides i use white paint spray outside of the tank.
Only front use white bg sticker.. does it count as WTT?

Quick question..i have a 5" plus RTG..and i read a lot about tanning makes the fish color become darker and RTG no need tanning..but will a normal 20w white light count as tanning light? The light on for 24hours and my fish seems happy, wat i worry is will the light become 1 of the tanning results later as i dun wan my fish become darker and losing shines?
*
RTG no need tanning... eventually the crossing and shine will come. Normal fluorescent light will help faster the process.

Sorry to tell you this Aro is just a low grade cross back not 24KXB claim by the seller.
