Say, is the AS1M for non-Bumi closed like forever? I opened with RM1k 2 years ago and was never able to add to that due to quota filled.

Walked into Maybank 3 times since, always get turned away. Kinda pissed off lol

You're very lucky to have the passbook, some people don't have at all.

Why don't you try at Pos Malaysia or ASNB branch, they normally will give a try for you smile.gif

Thanks mate, will try either the branch or Pos Malaysia.

Yea after opening the book, I heard others couldn't even get it. Massively regret just opening with 1k when I had 10k in FD. Oh well... Nasi is become bubur tongue.gif

When as1m open for subscription, a lot of people have doubt. Some people spreading negative rumour about the fund. The "famous" one is the 4% p.a dividend rate doh.gif shakehead.gif

and maybe they look at the prospectus saying the fund manager "may" make it having sale charge.

but now, no more units left. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

however, 1 thing i must say, the risk is still there.

Xtract from ASNB website

Saiz Tabung ASW2020 : 17.945 bilion unit.

The above unit differs from 16.615 bil unit as per latest Master Prospectus  rclxub.gif
*
Fund size increased exactly by 8%, but I don't think
aSW will declare all 8%, due to:
1) the initial 16.615 bil approved fund size, there are some unsold units hold by fund manager as buffer.
2) unsold bumi units. ( from time to time bumi units are avail for this fund)

i had the same notion too. but the bank manager convinced me otherwise... she's quite helpful

actually bank managers will be very helpful once they know you handle large sums of investments. the branch get a percentage from the transactions and they can hit their sales targets. of course you'd have to purchase some of their products (loans) to keep the healthy relationship going... nod.gif

In d Prospectus, the manager have the right to impose up to 1% sales charge
It is up to d manager whether they want to xercise the rights

Well, i am also hoping for a higher dividend to be announced for ASW2020 although I dont have the account for ASW2020..

Because if higher dividend for ASW2020, it also meant higher dividend for my AS1M.. haha.... rclxms.gif

Or they just announce 5.6% pa return. The rest carry forward to the following years. The chairman's favorite words: "we in fact made an 8% gain but due to the xxx we will bring forward the x% of divided to the next financial year....", same script over the years, just copy and paste by just changing the year.

Just kidding ok...

I agree about the favorite words..

It is the top words which always been used during the declaration of the dividend..

Well, i am used to it already as long as their dividend is within my expectation, i am okay with their favorite words..

take not that 2008 is not even the real hit.... but is effect after GE and slight crisis....

historical dividend on 97/98 can't be obtained excluding ASN, ASB ( earlier existence )... ASB drop .5, however ASN increase 1.0 after 98...

but both of them did drop after 08....

haiz...

BTW, i am chinese too, but how come i don't know what is Chan King Yoong Yow? Can type it in chinese character ?

The person / parties spreading the rumour are the one putting more money there (bcoz wanna eliminate competition for the available units)

There's risk in every investment, the only difference is how much / high smile.gif

Not every bankers are like that, You're very lucky to have her.

Normally those with "VIP" or "High net individual account holders" would get some special treatment at banks. When the units are open for subscription, they would get their transaction first (even the 1st person in the Q need to wait for some time before transaction would be done). Banks famous Quote for all those waiting in Q "Sistem tergendala sebentar, Network connection problem, Sistem jem"
