i would think its better to follow standard spec height of 1.5ft or 38cm. you will have less issues with light penetration to the bottom of tank and most plants will grow well with this light distance. ie 1.5ft (height) x 1.5ft (width) x __ft (length)

you have to ask for it. i also didnt notice it at first..
bring together a battery operate air pump if you afraid it will die.

if you can maintain its water parameter, that is. but you said, 2 weeks? what food do you drop for them? based from my experience, otto fries, very sensitive with ammonia presence. try to keep ammonia level to at least 0.25 ppm. for food, i prefer to add a lot of algae wafer. sometime i drop boiled cucumber and sometime grind all boiled cucumber and turn them for a drop of cucumber juice..

another important thing is, do not add any other fish other than otto itself. i do find my shrimp hunt them. even guppies fries too i thing you've failed because your water parameter.. otto fries does not need much more food. just ensure there is enough food for them. force them to starving even for 1 day, say good die to them

for sure, i'd suggest you just using filtered water, and then boiled it for wc. once it cool enough, ok.. im always use this method to minimize BACTERIA INFECTION. or.. if im lazy enough. straight using UV lamp, expose to the water for 30 mins. after that, pour it to that tank.
btw, i think you've failed too because of bacteria infection. even otto is very sensitive. the fries is MORE sensitive.

nope, i think you can substitute it with another cannister filter or using those cannister-HOB hybrid filter like haqos/shiruba/ista maxcare filter.
btw if youre keen on looking it, there is a LFS in SS18 or SS14 not sure which, opposite of SS17 police station, name Pusat Aquarium Wei Koon. Last time i went there, there are selling a lot of weird filters,
and caught a glipse of filter looks like it, but not sure its the same thing ure looking for.

my local pets shop qian hu is moving store. store owner said they are going to deplete the aquatic stocks at 10-50% depending on products. some are the filters / medication / sera (at 10-30% off) etc. the eheim normally already on sales (nation wide including kl also got this offer) also available i think 2213 or 2215 is rm400++.

anyone looking for some hardware can let me know wat u guys wanna check out. a lot of arcadia lights but still expensive... rm81++ for the 4ft lights...

i targetting the 2227 filter... but rm13xx
