just to say my agoda booking which i've done on last sat was posted today with transaction date 24th march (saturday)..

but i swipe with visa card instead of amex though....for fear the transaction will not be dated sat...

got the normal 6% agoda whole year promo + 1x TP which is equivalent to 6.5%, if amex also 7.5% so still ok la..at leat i'm sure i can get 6.5%

not sure whether using visa/amex will affect the date it transacted, or just random luck...



edited to say:

just remember, the 6% is on before tax, while if amex 5%, it should be on after tax...

so..the diff is more that 1%, if one wants to be more calculative

All my expenses is transacted and posted on the same day all these while, except online transaction like agoda.

Coffee bean card? U mean Starbucks card? If so, I tried. Yes. U get 5% and 5x TP.

Any transaction u used on weekends with Amex will always get that. Unless the transaction date was recorded on weekends. Thats not something we can control.

Just remember that the agoda deal, the portal shud be the one thru maybank. And it will show u the price after the 6% discount during the payment, before u completed it.

If u dun see it, it means u Wun get it. Make sure u see it.

no probs.. i got this info from some1 else too (dunno izzit from here as well).

i tried using the normal agoda portal (not thru Maybank) and it seems doesnt work (not showing rebate). it always appear to me Maybank one feels a bit weird. so i would prefer to use the normal portal.

and even after i booked it thru maybank portal, even though it showing in maybank portal in my "previous transaction", it's still not showing that in my the normal portal..until about 10 minutes later. i guess it need time to propagate from maybank portal to the normal portal.

the last i called them, they say for amex, it's not allowed to pay by phone.

i've already stated in earlier post about this.

once i tried the registration in the maxis portal, it will tell it's successful.
but i cant see the info from the portal (not sure whether i actually shud be able to see it)
receive sms say auto-debit is successful
called CS to clarify, ding ding dong dong, say amex cannot register as pay by phone
asked them to cancel the auto-debit by amex

yesterday, 1st time all my expenses in a day (weekends) can be done by amex

movie(ocbc buy one free one, so it's exception)
lunch(pasta zanmai)
watson
jusco (for swimming gear & beach wear)
carrefour (normal groceries)

feel good!!

I think it's less common to get epp 0% for Amex than visa/mc. Somemore if installment, u r not sure u will get then monthly installment always on weekends to get 5%.

Or epp is paying merchant full amount then installment to bank? I'm not took sure. Cos I never did it. Haha

The payment of rm50 is the gst offset la. Else why u get that transaction?

Din check the message. Was a bit annoyed. I should have gone to the one I always go near my neighbourhood.

Anyway, I'm not ranting coz I din manage to save one or two ringgit. The fact is, I always feel good whenever I'm able to use Amex on weekends. So, no feel good yesterday =(
