if earn the same dollar to ringgit in States, it's only need few months worth of saving to get the ultimate dream bike compared to Msia salary with years of saving...

I can buy a Ti bike or two with a month salary in the states.. I need 2 ~ 3 months salary in my to get the same bike, before considering shipping cost from US.
if you are working as an expat there.. with basic living costs covered...and salary straight into savings... i believe it is do-able.. but as a US citizen... i doubt it...
it is the same when my friend went to singapore... raving all the crap about singapore cars being so cheap compared to malaysia and stuff.. and he will own a fancy car so easily with his 7k SGD salary...
end up.. he couldn't afford a car because the car is cheap.. but ownership costs are high...
what we see from external is so often not what is achievable la.. is all i can say...

haha.. tht's considering if you have zero expenditure per month.. uh uh.. why all the Ti bike gave such food feedback, no one want to curse Ti bike or what?
actually... if you read other forums... everyone is cursing Ti for not being stiff enough and flexing under load...
either we have a different mentality or they somehow have swapped opinions... i personally like titanium myself for the longest time.. and there are several grades (2 actually) of titanium... the 3AL/2V or 6AL/4V.. difference in weight and stiffness...
i prefer to go all out and get the 6AL/4V frames

Just do It, think too much is an obstacle.

how much is the tax? anybody knows?
as with malaysia... anything written in black & white can easily be over ruled by a person with authority....
QUOTE(Confession @ Jul 19 2012, 05:17 PM)
Maybe can try ask seller to declare the bike as "racing bicycle". Anyone tried before ?
a legal seller won't do that... i tried it a lot with ebay sellers and they don't want to do that as it can get them in trouble...
QUOTE(joonming @ Jul 19 2012, 05:22 PM)
can declare as gift, high chances to escape.
so is gift... quite a lot of online sellers are not willing to do that..
you might as well put it as RMA return shipping... at least it does not sound like a con job so much...

sorry..can anyone tell me why road bike not subject to tax?
that is anyone's guess.... i think because MTB is for recreational (they treat it)...i roughly heard something like that before.. .not sure if it is true...
