To enable WRITE permission on external sdcard:

Requirement: rooted device with CWM installed

Follow this LINK to download the fix file, and copy into your phone sdcard

-shut off the device and boot to recovery (vol up + power)
-select install update from zip file, let it run and reboot
-test: copy a file such as picture from your DCIM folder into your exStorage

Hi,does that mean gamedata for hd games like from gameloft n fifa12 oso automatically save on external sd card, not internal storage?or just movie n photo?
Thinking wan root device for the write to sd card feature...

nice screen but whats so special about it?

facts remain, apps in adroid is not as good as appstore

but i guess you dont read my post properly.... wheb you say shitty list.....if you were refering to list of apps in my post....then those were androids.....

but anyway, i didnt regret getting the tab 7.7

for those who are contemplaying between tab or ipad, do test both of them and reallly look at what you really need

Apple has their strength but then, so does Android..
But Apple steadfast in their point of view that the world shud do things their way is their Achilles heel..
Their lack of a 7 inch tab is a major disfavor in my opinion..
I am enjoying reading once again cos of the lightness of this tab as opposed to holding a 10 inch tab for long periods of time as I didn't attend the shaolin temple of weight lifting.. Lol
Having said that, I find some of apple's education apps is wonderful for my kids..

Having a choice, having a voice, makes allot of difference for I too want a semblance of control on the way I live life..

You do not need root to do such
And we do not encourage users to use crack pirated Apps
Android apps generally cheap average us2 only
Support developer n refrain from such cheap acts

I was going out and getting myself the tab today then saw this.
13. HONEYCOMB limitation you cannot write/copy stuffs onto external SD card from tab itself
Root it and overcome this limitation by editing some system files

huh? so if i plonk in my 32Gb SD i can't save any files into it? Then how do you do that?
Thanks.

then what does the root do?

Rooting allows you admin rights to phone file system. Rooting will allow you to install apps that need to access file system eg
- Titanium Backup : Full backup and restore of apps n its data. If you use MyBackup Pro - rooting will allow you full restore automatically not one by one selection
- AdsFree to eliminate those nasty ads popping out
- install fake telco apps so that you can access more free and paid apps - eg market enabler or marketaccess
- Root explorer example so that you can edit system files, eg editing permission.xml to have ext sdcard able to be written in phone
- Install Clockworkmod recovery : do full rom backup plus restore, flash kernel, flash rom, flash modem etc

To root or not is entirely up to each user. Put it this way, rooting will enhanced your Tab usage with much more additional features - it is unleashing the hidden power of a 3000 cc car behind the 2000 cc car engine

Your hard drive must be FAT32 format and you need additional power for the USB harddrive ( some do not have such features). I have tested up to 500gb drive only

ROOTING can never and will never damage your Tab. NO files will be deleted. It is a very extremely safe process. The chance you will damage your tab is I would say one in several hundred million. Just make sure your Tab is at least 50 % charge before doing it
Rooting will still allow auto OTA update provided you are still on official rom. If you have installed a custom rom, you will not get OTA updates. Only way is to flash back using Odin in PC a official stock rom
Refer my blog how to root - it is extremely easy - a no brainer I'd say

That USB adapter is only a card reader
Your USB harddrive must have a additional power port to have it being charge while in use. Not all USB harddrives has this feature

Using ADW Ex as launcher will immediately improve UI slickness and smoothness

This is only to provide additional power to charge the Tab using external power pack. A better choice would be the
30pin Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 P1000 To Micro USB Plug Charger Cable Adapter - google for it in ebay
I am using it now

You do not understand me - your USB hard drive must have a power port to charge it to use it with the Tab ; if it doesn't have than you cannot use it with the Tab

Rooting will officially void warranty. But as L have always say Samsung Service Center ( my past 5 experience ) dealing with them never bother about phones/tablets rooted and even flash with custom roms . Warranty is still processed FOC
And I always said all these tricks to hide your root/flash is useless as if the tech wants to void your warranty, he will still know your previous rooting/flash records by accessing some hidden system files
You need a ext sd card to have rooting done
You flash back a official stock rom using Odin in PC - you will lose root and CWM ( if you have installed )
