put me in the list as an owner....

nBeen using gt7.7 for a lil more than a week, below is my opinion:
- web browser is bad, i like how safari performs in ios, nothing in the market can beat safari
- flash video is laggy and mediocre at best
- widgets implementation is great, having all information i need at the forefront is awesome
- gorgeous screen
- not so good on battery life but probably to my usage as im on the internet constantly
- finding apps in the market for tablets is a paain, as mostly are bloated phone apps
-photoshop touch is an awesome app
- movie player implementation is awesome
- productivity apps are adequate

Overall, now i understand the difference between ios and andriod, as i owned both, android is not for the masses, business men do not need all the customizations it can gives, nor they have the time to explore the tweaks and tunning required to get the best out of the device, time is precious and good performance out of the box to cater business needs is still not android

The browser is buggy but it could be due to honeycomb so ill wait for ics to see if will change anything.

One of the reason i bought the tab, but however, i found out that it is a little better than ios....

What is really a flaw inthe tab from business users perspective, at least for me, it is buggy at providing the essentials, namely information retreaving....

The portability of this tab is very critical to me as i travel alot and i am loving it, so they got one thing right, the memory card slot is godsent but i dont want my browser to crash on me every now and then, i dont want to watch a video on a buggy flash interface that does not respond very well....

All in all i am okwith the tab, the shortcoming of it does not superseed its advantages although annoying

brando may have it....google for brando, i bought a ultra thin back case and a tpu case there...

On another note, anyone know how we can force the tab to display 24 bit color, the issue is that if you have a wallpaper with a lot of gradient, you will see the color banding due to the fact it forces 16 bit color mode.

Apps without rooting can force 24 bit display as I found out when I've installed a live wallpaper which have the option to force 24 bit color mode and it is heaven and earth difference....i'll update with pics soon.

Apps like angry bird are being force to use 16 bit hence the color banding and many more apps are like this. What is the point of having a gorgeous screen and yet displaying 16 bit color mode...

just solely for the flash support?

Coming from a past ipad user myself, I would say please consider the following:

Out of the box:
The bad:
1) Cannot write to external storage in the tab itself
2) Good AMOLED display but force 16 bit color mode on alot of popular apps (unless the app does force 24 bit (888 RGB), this is Samsung fault if i am not mistaken. here. This really bothers me but still livable since I dont play games that much.
3) Laggy Touch Wizz Launcher
4) The suction cup marking on the screen, almost all the tab 7.7 will have this issue, particularly if you like dark background and white text and do reading in the dark. Refer here. Although it doesnt bother me
5) Flash pluggin is overated in android, I would usually turn it off as it is buggy and always crashing my tab. I prefer safari implementation in iOS.
6) Whatever people tell you, ALL browsers for honeycomb and ICS are still behind safari.
7) Some good quality apps / games is not compatible with the tab.

Now, for the good:
1) Bad item 1,3 and 7 can be rectified by rooting / custom ROM or using different launcher
2) File transfer to memory card is still better than ipad even without rooting
3) Apps integration with OS is better than iOS
4) Good built quality
5) Better media playback thru 3rd party apps
6) Can act as a phone if you want albeit a little bulky and funny...

In my opinion.
Out of the box, galaxy tab 7.7 has it flaws which some can be rectified using apps and via rooting and custom ROMS.

I wouldnt recommend if you prefer simplicity and ready out of the box tablet such as ipad and do not like/ want to root your device and customize stuff.

I use my tab as an entertainment center when I am on the run and I am always on the run. So it fits my purpose, will it fit yours?

You can have an OS that is fully integrated like skype and others (that is my opinion of fully integrated).

Alot of Apps in appstore is much better than in google play and it is very easy to find ipad specific or iphone/ipod specific/ work on both ipad and iphone apps.

It is a pain in google play and you need an app (tablified apps) to find and even then it is not extensive. Adding to the frustration, is that after searching you found out it is not compatible with your device.

The only app that I could think off that are better in Android than in iOS are the following:
CNN app
Photoshop touch
Movie players
Music players
File explorers
Cloud storage apps
Widgets

The rest are almost an outdated version of its counterpart in appstore...

nice screen but whats so special about it?

facts remain, apps in adroid is not as good as appstore

but i guess you dont read my post properly.... wheb you say shitty list.....if you were refering to list of apps in my post....then those were androids.....

but anyway, i didnt regret getting the tab 7.7

for those who are contemplaying between tab or ipad, do test both of them and reallly look at what you really need

So, anyone here got any idea for a proper sleeve for this gt 7.7 tablet either neoprene or padded but really nice design.

I am using the ones that I have for ipad. Its a Marc by Marc Jacobs and CK. Marc doesnt seem to have anything smaller for smaller tablets. Neither do CK

The tab was not design to run 1080 anyway plus unless you zoom in, you wouldnt know the difference.....I go for 720p mkv and it plays buttery smooth.....

not that i am aware of, just use a debit card which can be your ATM card as well...it should work
