if you ask me, i only see the kernel and android version. other than that, i don't bother. i'm a good person to ask. the grandmaster Lingch (now RAZR user) will be the correct person to ask, so try to join our TT in early Aug when he comes to KL!

so what sort or ROM are you currently using?

are quardrant benchmark a reliable measuring of how good a ROM is?

I'm looking at using this phone as a main one as migrate from an SE W800i.
All this while(2years back) I'm reluctant to use this Defy as a main phone mostly because its a touchscreen(I'm oldfashion) and I hate lags/slow respond when touch on its screen.

I rely alot on wifi/3g/gps.

If there's a ROM you would recommend, what's your call?

just bought a defy from mudah second hand user, after test few day, its ok, then test water resisitant

i found the phone is not water resistent, i just pun in a cup only
the camera become blurish kapur alredy
then some of the key cant be press alredy

wat to do?

The DEFY u bought already repaired by non-authorized technician.
Probably, the technician forgot to put back red circle rubber around defy body. The red circle rubber is the most important part to prevent water entering inner part.
Anyway, try drying ur defy by put it into an air-tight container with rice in it for few days

i'm using MIUI 2.4.6, but i think you can use the WIUI 2.4.20 which i think is not bad as well. I try to stick to MIUI or WIUI until CM9 becomes stable. Also, i absolutely love the dialer on MIUI/WIUI which i think is the best (among ALL the smartphone ROMS, iphone included).

Does WIUI work with green lens? Since my defy is now being use by my other half, long time din't play with it. Its on Cmiui 2.2 i think. And she keep complaining the camera sucks.

Not like it does not work. Just the quality is baaaddddd...

i think generally, the Defy camera sucks. everything mostly taken a bit dark. need to adjust it, and also a lot of noise. i would say, the weakest point of the phone

Its not that. Its just that the camera cannot focus at all. My first defy was a red lens. Was pretty happy with the camera. Can focus. Can macro. After getting a replacement phone from brightstar, which is a green lens, then I'm facing tjis problem.

Hmm just installed this ROM, google market seems to be missing

download gapps.zip from there and install it from recovery

why don't u try the MS2Ginger Rom with 720p recording/playback and widescreen capture...the pic quality is considered not bad..
