soak the phone in slighty warm water (40-50C) to dissolve any salts if you use it in sea water. normal scuba diving trick. never just soak in normal temp water.

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Mar 10 2012, 12:18 PM) Went for offshore training few days ago. During the helicopter underwater escape, people start taking videos and snapping pictures with their sgs 2 and iphones. I was doing the same thing, its just that when the chopper submerged, I went closer to the pool, submerged the phone and continue recording. Suddenly you become the center of attraction, people wanting to see the underwater actions. I even gave the phone to the instructor to record from a better angle and it turned out quite ok. And that's how the defy roll baby!

the MIUI US updates are all mainly v4 updates and no longer V2.3 so it's either continue using or update to v4, but with v4 currently not finished, i think i will stay with v2.3 WIUI seems interesting though, but anyone can upload a screen shot of their ROM? i particularly like the MIUI music and dialer, so any change in those 2 will really bug me

seems to be a picture of Mango Launcher? Saw the Lumia yesterday at Pyramid. Pretty solid and nice phone, but too bad running Mango. Not to say that it's not nice, but i like to customize, and i hate the dialer.
And unlike Android, i cannot change the dialer...but overall, pretty solid phone with nice colors on screen. Mango itself is pretty ok as well, but too bad customisability is zilch, and no community support, unlike Android!

can i interchangably use MIUI and WIUI? meaning i flash to WIUI, then flash back to MIUI? i dont clear dalvik and cache when i upgrade MIUI versions, and WIUI and MIUI are from the same MIUI roots.
anyone can do a comparison of MIUI vs WIUI? mostly UI stuffs and other notable difference?? i mean, things like WIUI faster la, better looking lah are very subjective. But things like Dialer? Home Launcher?? stuffs like that ARE different.
been staying with for more than 6 months....LOL....itchy itchy to try new stuffs, but stable CM9 has been too long coming!!

I think you should be using cm7 since you're likely green lense. The CM9 only if you're on red lense or defy+

WIUI GB running ok, but i actually lost some icons. had to use Titanium to freeze and defrost to get the icons back. dunno why. i didnt want to wipe data as i need to setup everything again, and if i'm going that way, i might as well try CM9 first.

I doubt with the current volume of sales for moto phones, Motorola will give another distributor to handle

i think MIUI no longer updates Defy, so i did grab the latest copy of the ROM before they took it down. Hope the XDA people will get the CM9 running stable so can migrate over, but i guess will be tough without the T9 dialer. best feature in the MIUI ROM that i dont see any other smartphone ROMs having, not even iphone or Windows Mango

my phone decided to screw me up and almost got me late to work for my first day in new job. then it had to act all funny and suck up all the battery. by noon, it was 20%. i ended up flashing MIUI 2.4.6 ROM instead of WIUI latest ROM. older tech, but more reliable

QUOTE(adie82 @ May 17 2012, 01:14 AM) wierd!... waht WIUI version u use? me never encounter that problem... overnite only eat around 5% WIUI lastest version 2.4.16 i think! Wiui latest 2.4.20. Anyway, like long88 says, lazy to flash. As long got stable ROM, i'm happy now. No need ics also never mind, but if cm9 can have stable version, I won't mind. Probably using this phone until end year minimum, then see what android goodness next year

well, you might just wanna try flashing it since it's like gonna be end of life for your phone. you might just extend your phone's life by using a custom ROM. it's not THAT difficult after all...and the result will be amazing!!

i would say, a new one is still ok, or a second hand one with new batteries. phone still great after 15 months, but battery lifespan can see shorter liao. probably can hit my 2 years usage minimum for phones, but i guess another new battery, can drag the phone life to 3 years, or at least until backside itchy for new phone la.
it's a great phone for it's price and durability, but with 1GB RAM everywhere now, looks like it's the new standard for apps usage rather than 512MB.
