Food is standard 3 times KL...Just minus 3 zero & X3.. For eg..A bowl of ramen = 4,000 won = RM12

ashcrimson, work or study? I wasnt that excited when my boss told me about it. It was either Brisbane or Seoul. But I guess Seoul is better than Brisbane?! Oh well. Whats done is done. Everything is well-prepared. Just waiting for the time.

If I'm not mistaken McD set is ~4000 won lah..anyway still cheaper than those traditional Korean food restaurant wth avg 5,000-6,000 won.. The 4,000 won Ramen only in one of the restaurant I frequented during my few days stay there in dec 2010 haha.. Hard to find anything at 4,000 won actually except McD or cheaper option, buy those cup ramen in 7-11, GS mart/Family Mart..that way cheaper or just eat kimbap...I see lotsa Korean just order Kimbap during lunch too..poor man food

LOL. Never been to OZ, only NZ. So I'm not really sure if the place is ok or not. Sorry if I offended OZ fans, I'm not saying OZ is bad etc. What I meant was culture wise.
Been to US, UK, Neds etc. So being surrounded by white ppl is already a norm. Even my boss also a Kiwi-an, a rugby diehard fan.

So for me, going to Korea, Japan is like a breathe of fresh air. I'm not really an adventurers type of guy. I'm very much a geek.

Talking about food, was wondering that when you said your budget was RM800 for a 4 day trip, what did you have during your stay?

I calculate for myself 6 dinners, 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches - RM486. Coz never been before and based on blogs & reviews, price is around 2k won till about 15k won. I guess, i budget around RM30 per meal just incase, if can save more of course will do so, will frequent those small small eateries...... biggrin.gif Hard to say which food is nice or not but i absolutely love korean bbq (pork), kimchi soup and bibimbap. tongue.gif

I think the korean bbq will be the most expensive one in my case. Maybe just have it for 3 nights enough LOL.

Pheww.. I found my old posting when my expenses to Seoul still fresh haha..check this:

QUOTE(stimix @ Dec 17 2010, 08:15 AM)
OK since you're on budget similar to most of ppl here..My recent trip of 6D4N can be used as guideline. I EXCLUDE hotels & air ticket bcos already paid in advance. You can prebook hotels using the link on 1st page (innotel, hostelworld or agoda)

Wth the AAX tickets & hotel excluded, I changed ~RM2170 cash into Won (well to USD 1st thereafter won). Yesterday, I changed back the whole US$218 available and got back RM680  rclxms.gif So total spending only ~RM1500  rclxm9.gif AND this was for 3 persons!!  smile.gif  (Avg exchange rate at 2.85)

Rough idea of how I spent my RM1300 there (for 3 pax)"

- T-Money 33,000w X3 but got back 3600w X3 at the end of the day. (~RM260)
- Daily food for 3 X3 (Brunch & dinner - some meal simple convenience shop kimbap & drinks  blush.gif ) ~ 12,000w X2 X3 X 4 nites (~RM820)
- Souvenir, entrance tickets, Taxi & etc  ~180,000won (RM520)

Honestly after comparing this Seoul trip and my recent Beijing/Tianjin trip even worse. I spent RM1800 there! Brought in RM2K and only managed to changed back RM200..

The only explanation I can think off was...In Beijing so many things to buy- well those cheapo fake products & some last only a week whereeas in Seoul not much things to buy except their food stuff haha blush.gif
