If I'm not mistaken McD set is ~4000 won lah..anyway still cheaper than those traditional Korean food restaurant wth avg 5,000-6,000 won.. The 4,000 won Ramen only in one of the restaurant I frequented during my few days stay there in dec 2010 haha.. Hard to find anything at 4,000 won actually except McD or cheaper option, buy those cup ramen in 7-11, GS mart/Family Mart..that way cheaper or just eat kimbap...I see lotsa Korean just order Kimbap during lunch too..poor man food
*
Talking about food, was wondering that when you said your budget was RM800 for a 4 day trip, what did you have during your stay?

I calculate for myself 6 dinners, 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches - RM486. Coz never been before and based on blogs & reviews, price is around 2k won till about 15k won. I guess, i budget around RM30 per meal just incase, if can save more of course will do so, will frequent those small small eateries...... biggrin.gif Hard to say which food is nice or not but i absolutely love korean bbq (pork), kimchi soup and bibimbap. tongue.gif

I think the korean bbq will be the most expensive one in my case. Maybe just have it for 3 nights enough LOL.

I just reposted..I found out why liao..Too much fake shoppings in Beijing  blush.gif  biggrin.gif

Well for Japan, after I done my bit & piece of research, also will not cost much wan.. I'm thinking only bring in RM300K for 3 person bcos from my calculation, we only need ~ RM800 nia for whole duration of my nxt trip haha..I just posted my Japan budget at the spending RM10K for Holiday" thread. I still kenot brain why ppl can still spend so much but no matter how I try also kenot reach RM1K per pax wan  blush.gif  biggrin.gif
*
For my JP trip, usually if say makan + transportation for 1 week also will not reach 1k. If say include shopping and high end makan confirm can be more than that.

I'll try to google on where to change from USD to KRW coz the rate here crazy, 2.95 for 1000won.... my fren say in lowyat plaza for shop owners 2.8. Still very high... their buy back is 2.52!!!! Difference is alot leh incase i got balance to change back.

Actually i live in klang n work in shah alam. Maybe i'll just go n change at the currency shop near my office at 2.95. Driving down to KL, parking and my time also cost more than the 15cents. tongue.gif Will change max RM2000 nia. Live or die will use this much only. Balance come back only change back. *Confirm got alot balance left la* coz won't be doing much shopping there anyways. Maybe just 1 or 2 souviners nia.

Hi all,
Im going to SKorea next week.
Im using MAS, but isit true that MAS flight to korea is really bad?(no TV at seat, bad food, etc)..
*
Depends on which fleet you are using though. You should probably call MAS customer service to enquire.

Well, I am ok travelling with comfort but my husband always want some luxury during travelling. He said, he work his ass off all his life. So when he travel, he wants to spend money. biggrin.gif

Unker stimix once commented about the air craft. AA is better than MAS. But couldn't remember which destination. Either Taiwan or Japan?? Cannot remember anymore.
*
I also like comfort + luxuries but then.... If i really travel like your hubby's style, I think 1 trip also will cost me at least 6k for a country in asia and 15k for a country in europe (total max 7 nights stay).

I buy outdoor activities product that can last long so that I don't have to buy again. I am an avid fan of outdoor activities person. I need a robust and durable gear that can last at least 4 yrs.
*
Agreed....

I'm happy that I got my Osprey Transporter 60L. Just started using this yr (Jan & Mar trip). It's really durable so far.

I think it's the other way round. Can only use for MAX 4 person.

Thanks for all the replies. Appreciate your help.

Btw, anyone here went to the Carribean Bay before? Was it good? Do you think there's enough time to go to both Everland and Carribean Bay in 1 day?
*
I also used the online ticket voucher to get discounts for foreigners.

I've never been to carribean bay before but for Everland, if say the queue is short, 3/4 day is enough. IMO, it's a disappointing park because since i've been to tokyo disneyland and tokyo disneysea, the difference is like 360degrees.... Not 100% well maintained for everland and the rides are all kinda boring..... plus the place kinda smells of old humid wood. Sorry!

aint Disneyland's ride mostly 'kids' ride? Tarzan,Toys Story,Flying Elephant,Alice in the Wonderland? thats wad i got from HK Disneyland.. Tokyo one totally different? whereas Everland got animal ( im animal freak  laugh.gif )
*
I've never been to Disneyland HK but perhaps all Disneylands are the same?? But DisneySea in Tokyo is totally different, it's one of a kind in the world as there is only 1 DisneySea. I don't feel that it's very 'kiddy-ish'. However, I do hear ppl telling me that HK Disneyland is not as great as the other Disneylands.

The animal part of Everland is just 1 park. The animals look really sad though when I was on the Safari..... Sigh...

Nothing to shout about on Disneyland HK. I wasted my RM150. I only spent 2 hours there and left. The place is really very kiddy-ish.

Have you been to the one in Tokyo? I guess I will definately SKIP HK Disneyland if I ever go there again.

Anyone has visited Seoul during summer ? Is it really hot and humid like Malaysia or worse ?
*
It's actually kinda humid in Winter already..... I believe that during summer will be hot and humid.

Actually KL humidity is minor - around 50% only.

Tokyo itself is 89% that time i went (last yr in Sept). My god, after 5 mins walk, sweat like nobody's business. I've never sweat so much in my life!

Cost is depending on how many days you stay, what type of accommodation you take. Shopping money is vary depending what you plan to buy. If you are Muslim, you must prepare to spend a little bit on food. If not, you can bring your own canned food/maggie mee and eat out occasionally. Like us (me and my sisters), we only eat out twice because food is too expensive. 1 set of meal in Murri Restaurant cos us KRW15 thousand per person.

In my opinion, the only thing worth to buy in Korea is cosmetic and K Pop stuff beside souvenir. The rest, too expensive.

Don't go with tour package. THey only bring you to shopping places. Go by yourself is better. You can do what ever you wan, where to go at your pace of time.
*
Now that you mentioned it, only I realised halal food is so expensive!! And I keep telling my friends that food is cheaper than japan but then again, i'm a non-halal eater.
