Hmmm just booked my hotel in central hong kong smile.gif Now air ticket confirm and hotel is confirmed. I will be staying 8 days 7 nights in the same hotel i guess if i go to macau also i will go at morning come back at late night since i found out hong kong macau ferry is operate 24 hours.

My hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Peak Tram Station and a 5 minute drive from Macau Ferry Terminal. Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center is a 10 minute drive away so worst case i take cab from Hong Kong also won't be that expensive right?
*
Fare table

First 2 kilometres (or any part thereof) HK$20.00
Every subsequent 200 metres (or any part thereof) and every period of 1 minute waiting time (or any part thereof)

Not sure what are the rate for mid-night.

If you are into cosmetic stuff (Sasa / colourmix / angel) - survey the prices in Macau before buying in HK. My gf found that Macau is slightly cheaper.

We spent quite alot as we did alot of shopping and bought alot of souvenir so it might be hard for you to estimate. Food are generally cheaper compared to HK as well.

HKD:MOP - 1:1.029

If you spend a day there don't be bothered to change and yes if you use HKD they will return change in MOP. Just bring small notes (50 / 100) and keep as little as possible.

those that you need to take off backpack is the buzz lightyear space mountain but you can hold it in front of you (if not mistaken there is a storage area)

for the toy story u shaped ride, you can hand over to the assistant, they have shelves for it

Can actually request them to give back the change in HKD. But you can always used it next time if they indeed give MOP.

My 2 days 1 night there encounter no such issue, all was given back HKD

The first must try in Macau?

猪扒包 - 勝利茶餐廳 [MOP18]
Attached Image

I found this on a book and prefer this version compare to the ever famous 大利来. Meat was deep fried, not oily, tender and juicy! Not to mention 大利来 version is MOP30 each. A whopping MOP12 more than this shop.

椒盐鸭舌 - 老记 [MOP110]
Attached Image

Gf tried this few years back and we went around for almost 90 minutes before locating it. A must try for me especially if you like 鸭舌 because even for me who never understand the wonder of 鸭舌 enjoyed it. Good news is that they have an outlet in Venetian.

P/S: we saw quite a number of table ordering their wantan noodle - seems like a popular dish but we were too full to try.

haha trust me its good - i nvr enjoy it but i love this dish. They deep fried it first before frying. Awesome dish to go with beer thumbup.gif

Another thing was the attitude of Cha chan teng in Macau - we only ordered the pork bun MOP18 for 2 to share they nvr make noise about that. In HK they always have this minimum spending per pax. wink.gif

Cab from HK Central to Convention will be about HKD25-35 range, daytime, with minimal jam.

Otherwise, take MTR to Wan Chai exit A1 (HKD2-2.40?) and walk over is the best on cost & time. Yes, need to walk a lot in HK.

Tram will stop 1 street further away (Johnston road), HKD2.30 per ride, maybe not worth it and waste time, but can see streets, people, buildings if you manage to find a good seat/view.

Another way is if you take ferry from HK Central to Tsim Tsa Tsui ... on the way back, take the ferry to Wan Chai. Just a stone throw distance away from convention centre.

Depends, is it during peak lunch/dinner hours or not ? hmm.gif
If off-peak hours, you sit there long long chit chat also can after your meal/drinks, as long as it is not full.
