Thanks for telling , last time I use before singapore proxy , really fast but now it seem like blocking streamyx ip. Even 219.93.175.68:3128 it's still a bit slow compare to singapore proxy.

QUOTE(Criptonox89 @ Oct 15 2006, 10:55 PM) the speed while using proxy is even slower than without using proxy..... That depends on where you are. For me, using proxy is always better than direct connection (for now). If direct connection is better, I will definitely use it but as it is.....

QUOTE(andrewL @ Nov 5 2006, 05:20 PM) i just put in the ip. address and port no. in utorrent client and its done? does it work since im using wifi router? It is working but you may get the same speed, lower speed or higher speed. Also please don't forget to do portforwarding in your modem/router if you have not done so.

QUOTE(mun88 @ Nov 7 2006, 09:37 AM) can i put proxy for d-link DSL-500t?? if yes how to put?? I don't know about d-link but my aztech does not have any place to put in proxy. Most software including browsers, torrent clients, antivirus applications, etc., etc. have a place for you to put in your proxy settings. Just look for it. Even when I have set the proxy for my antivirus application, I always have to look for it because I forget where the settings are. Which particular software are you using that you want to use a proxy?

QUOTE(mun88 @ Nov 7 2006, 09:37 AM) can i put proxy for d-link DSL-500t?? if yes how to put?? You don't actually put it into the router's settings. If you want to surf the internet with proxy, go to Internet Explorer. Click tools, internet options. Select the "connections" tab. Click LAN settings and select the option to use proxy server. Enter the proxy's IP address and port. The similar concept applies to firefox, bittorrent clients and many other internet related programs.

Getting Started

|
Its not modem/hardware based to configure proxy... its using under your browser i.e, Internet Explorer or any other browser. Basically, software based to get it working.

surfing the net with proxy is only fast if the cache is in the proxy server. otherwise, it's just an additional hop for the connection headed.

QUOTE(~Rogue~ @ Nov 11 2006, 07:08 PM) ermm...dun quite understand!!! You configure it in your softwares such as IE, not in your router. QUOTE(~Rogue~ @ Nov 11 2006, 07:42 PM) wats the different of http 1:1 and those socks4,5.......?? and anyone got some good proxy for bt? Proxies are not meant for BT actually. Those socks 4 and 5 are protocols. Technical details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOCKS

You must be one of the lucky ones who can use BT using proxy. Makes no difference with my BT whether proxy or non-proxy.
Which proxy did you use for BT?
