It has more mature styling which suits my taste. The drive is much better than the old one. Seats are more comfy than the old one too. NVH also better. Thanks.

Coming Soon: Civic 2013I know some of you say that the 2012 civic actually looks better in person, but I couldn't help hoping for a more refined version for 2013 model. Fingers cross. QUOTE As we've expected for a few months, Honda will update its Civic for 2013, just one model year after redesigning the popular compact. It's a response to criticisms, including ours, over the car's lackluster handling and cheap interior, though we still recommend the Civic for its roomy cabin and comfortable seats.
The criticism fell on receptive ears. John Mendel, head of American Honda, acknowledged the missteps in the Civic's quality late last year. Honda says the Civic now has "interior and exterior refinements" for 2013.
What exactly are they? The automaker remains mum.
"This is the only info we are going to release," company spokesman Chuck Schifsky said in an email. "Our plan is to hold a media briefing regarding the changes to the Civic for the '13 model year close to the on-sale date late this fall."
The Civic's downfalls have done little to stop sales, which are up 23% through May with slight dealer incentives. Naturally, we'll detail what’s changed once Honda releases more info. This post has been edited by chrishung: Jul 24 2012, 11:33 AM

I too went to the show room to find fault with its quality issues as mentioned on the US car talk websites. But, I couldn't upon closer look and test drive three times. Turned out the 9th Gen Civic is the best seller in its segment in the USoA. It even outsold its 8th Gen model. Thanks.

For sure they will come out new design but that one would be like early 2013 for us market and i think will only come malaysia by mid of 2013. After i tested, i think it does well enough as i driven the 8th generation before too...i still think the new civic is more pleasure to drive...of course not the look. But i believe look is always very subjective, as different people have different perception and judgement.

Meaning, if we buy now, this model will become slighly older by one year, and the RSV will also drop slightly. It is still a 9 Gen model. Unless one's talking about full model change in 10 Gen Civic which is like 5-6 years' time cycle.

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Feb 4 2012, 10:59 AM) Just ignore and reject this 2012 Civic. Its totally crap to me and many ppl worldwide. The Malaysian version of the new Civic will launch locally in the 2nd half of the year. The main reason for this is to push off old stock before the new facelift arrives. Those who dont know will rush to buy the Civic without realising that in 2013 the facelift will arrive in Malaysia. This would mean big loss of resale value for those who buy the 1st gen 2012 model. So please dont fall for this trap!
Honda planning 2012 Civic facelift after only 8 months after worldwide criticisms Current version criticized for deficiencies in design, quality, drivability & poor braking
By Tom Krisher
ROMULUS, Mich. — Honda is scrambling to revamp its Civic just eight months after a new version hit showrooms, and critics say it’s an admission that the compact car fell short in quality and handling.
The facelift, to come by the end of 2012, is rare because new models aren’t usually overhauled for at least three years. Honda executives say they are trying to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive small-car market.
The new Civic was panned by critics when it started arriving at dealerships on April 20. Consumer Reports magazine said the new Civic was less agile than its predecessor, and its interior quality was worse. The magazine refused to give the Civic its coveted “Recommended Buy” rating, saying that the braking distances were long and it suffered from a choppy ride. The car’s sales dropped to fourth among U.S. compacts from May through November.
The previous Civic, which came out in 2005, was known for its sporty driving, high-quality interiors, lack of noise and excellent braking, said David Champion, senior director of auto testing for Consumer Reports. “The new one seems to have fallen apart in those areas,” said Champion, who thinks that Honda cut costs with the 2012 version.
Honda also recalled more than 1,000 of the 2012 Civics because a fuel line could leak as a result of a manufacturing error.
Honda has told dealers that a reworked Civic will arrive before the end of this year. The car’s sticker price starts around $16,000, and a base model with automatic transmission gets 32 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving. Its price and fuel mileage are about the same as its competitors.
American Honda President Tetsuo Iwamura said yesterday that the company will improve the Civic’s drivability, but he stopped short of saying exactly what the company will do to the rest of the car. I guess this posting is in line with what was said earlier: http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2012/07...-specifics.html

naturally , there will be a facelift probably in 3rd quarter to late 2013 for US market ,but nobody knows the specs and design yet , even honda themselves.
as long as the sales and demand for civic is good , which it is now ,honda would not dare to be too adventurous.
many automobile journalist have under estimate the liking the real buyer has for this latest Civic . they just blah blah and blah . maybe they adore the Civic so much
