QUOTE(najib_ml @ Aug 26 2012, 08:51 AM) We only have these 4 option to replace engine oil. Just to clear my doubt. SM 5W30 (Eco Friendly) is considered mineral or semi-synthetic?SM 0W-20 (Fully-Synthetic) SL 5W-40 (Fully-Synthetic) SL 10W-30 (Mineral) SM 5W-30* (Eco-Friendly) Just because of the preventive maintenance interval is about 10,000km, better dont use SM 5W-30, SL 10W-30. My concern is engine life and fuel saver. So, I choose SM 0W-20 (Fully-Synthetic) but need to get antiwear additive because this oil antiwear wasn't enough to get 10,000km interval. SL 5W-40 (Fully-Synthetic) was a good oil in term of but this oil will drop my car performance. AFAIK the SC tell me about SM 0W-20 price after discount about RM161 = SC said 5L. Not sure about liter differ in manual said 3.5L.. but he quote me for 2.0L engine. Anyone having information about this? Agree that SM 0W20 has low anti-wear properties, but where can we find synthetic anti-wear additive out there? So far, I know most additives are oil based, thus dun think suitable to mix wiv fully synthetic oil. Correct me if i'm wrong..... This post has been edited by kc_lim: Aug 29 2012, 08:21 AM |

My SA did explain about the warranty coverage and servicing packages when I collected my car. He even photocopied the engine oil brochures for me
Anyway, u can check from... http://www.honda.com.my/sales/parts_lubricant It is given and understood. When u have such a low viscosity lubricant, u will need to sacrifice on antiwear properties, UNLESS they are willing to blend wiv good additives but this will cost the price to shoot up..... |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Aug 28 2012, 04:30 PM) Did u know that the queue for the Hyundai Elantra in Malaysia is now about 3900? No wonder the waiting period is 6 months. Thats nothing lah. After so many months and the q is only 3900? Please compare with the latest civic, just launch and the q is much longer than the elantra. Besides, most of the sales of elantra are for the 1.6 so dont be so happy. |

QUOTE(zweimmk @ Aug 28 2012, 06:49 PM) Haven't get the car yet, only getting this Thursday. What I mean is the rear boot, it is usually all black because it's is fully carpeted, but the top part which houses the speaker, that area is exposed and it's quite unsightly. It's no big deal actually, but it's still a half assed effort. Like you dress someone up and then in the middle of the clothes got a small gaping hole. Oops, so sorry to have missed the important point that you are only collecting on Thursday. Please let us know how the 1.8S fares as compared to the 2.0. I have placed my booking but SA said I can change it anytime. Don't wanna regret this major decision. Any other feedback about the 1.8 from others out there is greatly appreciated too |
