agree with reez on jt issue with the england fa. playing and captaining your country is a big honor but at the end of the day, it is down to how well you are appreciated. IMO, JT is under appreciated. he plays in england and for england but he is being booed with every touch he make. this is why i think england will never win any major trophies while their own player is backstabbing everybody that goes against their way.

look at spain. most of their main player played in one team (barca). and there are some which play in their rival team like casillas and ramos (madrid). but you never heard or see these guys bash each other. i am not a fanboy of spain. and neither i support any national team in particular..

One thing though, I don't think pushing Terry's case to July will do anyone any good. Disturb them during their breaks only.

+1..this is what I feared too.. but nevertheless, he has different scenario compared to scolari~ AvB is meant to mould a new, younger , competitive team to last in the long-run, so yea, he will be around..unless bigboss Mourinho comes knocking on Stamford Bridge's door.. hehehe =)

Dont live in past la, we can love Jose for his past achievements, but please support our current manager instead of asking for another one to be installed.

With this current squad, I don't think even Jose can do much with it.

Yes, we can blame AVB for not bringing in a lot of new players during last summer, but won't it disrupt the squad harmony? If AVB had bought a lot of new players, I don't think players like Sturridge, Ramires would had been given chance to show their abilities, then get shipped out like Scott Sinclair.

Give AVB time to settle down into his style of play first. Last season, who'd expected Man City would had played attacking football like this season

He did say he is coming back to ENGLAND for a long term job, but if is not CHELSEA i hope he dont come back at all, sad to see him manage another team hehe.

Counter attacking football is not that bad, it has more adrenaline rush rather than seeing a team trying to break a parking bus defense. U should see how RM play now. When RA crave for attacking football he sack JM but i think he regret ever after.

Hohoho pushing all the blame to player again ? What wrong with our player ? worse than SWANSEA that play good football ? We got a 50million man that most probably enuff to buy the 3/4 SWANSEA first 11. Disrupt squad harmony ? i dont think it would ever appear in any manager head regarding on transfer. AVB would love to sign HULK or some of his PORTO player but the truth is, he will never get those transfer fund rather than him worrying of squad harmony. I think AVB strongly believe he have a good squad unlike what you say, if our player is so worse it wont be hard for AVB to replace them with 10-15m signing that plenty can be found in the market.

Yaya AVB still the manager now, sure we will give him chance to turn things around but i will not support him blindly.

Maybe u misunderstood my statement, people complaining our players is SOOOOO BAD that we playing this current shitty football but the matter of fact a team like SWANSEA play better football than us. So if our player is so bad, AVB can easily buy any player, with 15m AVB can choose any SWANSEA player which play better football than us. He did not because AVB feel we have a good squad, a squad that need player at least 20m above to improve, a squad that is definitely better than SWANSEA but why are we playing so much worse than them ?

As matter of fact, i believe our player are no way inferior than MANU or TOTENHAM but maybe on MANC because they have better player on bench. But we does not need to compare with the top 3, even relegation team play better football than us now. Just remember one thing, AVB is hired to do the job, he know before hand what player CHELSEA had, he got his reinforcement in MATA, MEIRELES and ROMEU but even with his 3 signing on the field our football not only did not improve but are getting worse. He is the one responsible to get the formation and players work, he is the one selecting the teamsheet, the one conducting the training. I cannot accept that people say we play this current side pass back pass clueless football is the player fault. Why we hired a manager if RA can just sign expensive player and let them play as their wish on the field ?

according to ur logic then, Alex Ferguson failed to get player of Blackburn Rovers level
Mancini failed to get player of Sunderland level.

i'm sorry but just because u watch Swans vs Chelsea and then u claim them better than us. last time I check Swans is not even on the top 4.
and as a matter of fact again, Swans did play much much better against MU (maybe u didnot watch this match) so can I claim Alex failed to buy player swans level ? (altho MU won the game)

please stop acting like u know how to manage a football team. ur brilliant ideas in forum does not necessarily represents how football shud be run.

league is a marathon not a sprint,

and if i'm not mistaken Modric was one of the prime target for us pre season, but we failed to get him due to Spurs stubbornness to let him go

funnylah, former coach like Vialli believes fans and RA shud be more patient but our fans keep to chop avb. oh ya because MOURINHO era whistling.gif

again I ask u politely,
if u can suggest players around 15 millions pound that move to the other top 3 teams this season, i would love to hear some names.

funnylah, former coach like Vialli believes fans and RA shud be more patient but our fans keep to chop avb. oh ya because MOURINHO era  whistling.gif

again I ask u politely,
if u can suggest players around 15 millions pound that move to the other top 3 teams this season, i would love to hear some names.
*
I would also politely ask u to brush up ur english and re-read my post, at no point i am complaining about AVB fail to get reinforcement. I was saying our player is not soooo bad that others claim which causes our current bad football. You also said SWANSEA play better football than MANU, so why cant we play better football ? The misunderstanding is, u are talking about the result and i am talking about the football, watch the FOOTBALL we play please. Watch all the matches we play and not the live score, do you even follow CHELSEA match ? Football as in how we attack, how we defend, how we pass, how we pressure ok ? not about result, we rank 4, SWANSEA rank 14 or MANU win SWANSEA lose those ? The "FOOTBALL" doh.gif

And what those player transfer have anything to do with it ? i did not complain anything regarding transfer. If u want it anyway maybe SAHA, NELSEN (TOTENHAM), PIZZARO (MANC) ? surely none cost 15m.

Chelsea should ship off Malouda,Mikel,Bosingwa, and other deadweight that u guys think are not bringing any good football..I mean when u see these bunch of footballers playing, you know deep down what kind of football u are going to watch.Even though u guys still defend these players because they are still part of the club,I know deep down how u feeling.Everyone prefers fast-tempo,attacking football with plenty of excitement, not some kind of 'exciting heart-pumping adrenaline-inducing backwards-sideways 'tiki-taka'... doh.gif

Chelsea would get trashed tommorow,I would be damn surprised if they win.If Chelsea really wins tommorow, please quote this post of mine and say 'IN YOUR FACE' to me.

dont think thats the case here. chelsea will need to pay compensation to AVB which will cost a bomb

and even if they do, just how much Roman can spare his money to buy players to suit Mourinho?

seems like we bought AVB too fast frm porto....he admitted the players not really respecting him and he failed to be their leader...usually if coaches reveals like this its not long before they take the axe...same case as scolari before...in terms of master tactician to me no one is better than JM....

just some bits and pieces of good news that were picked up during the course of the week :

1. AVB giving his backing to betrand for today's colossal match vs utd, and i think this is what the young lad needs to hear. whether he performs well or not is a totally different matter. just as long as he gets his chance. but i'm curious though..do u guys think the gaffer means it? or is it just a show being put up, before we see bosingwa lining up on the wrong side again this season? i sincerely hope its the former.

2. apparently roman has FINALLY accepted that the inherent problem is not with the manager but the squad, which has been allowed to go stale for far too long. so we're now reaping the 'rewards' ten fold this season, and arguably last season too. word is that roman has given AVB the license to rebuild his beloved team, on a long term basis.

so does this pour cold water on the jose rumours? for me it does due to the reason being FFP rules are kicking in soon and we simply cannot afford to pay compensation to AVB, and supply a new manager with the funds needed to strengthen the team. its financial suicide, even with the billions roman has in his bank accounts. in conclusion, hold on tight because for better or for worse we're stuck with AVB for some time to come lads! smile.gif

as for the jose lovers, please just make a quick comparison between our squad and theirs and look at the amount of quality they have in every position. do u guys seriously think we'll be back to being the all conquering chelsea side without investment to secure the likes of kaka, ronaldo, benzema, higuain, ozil, alonso, marcelo, etc etc type players? if u guys do, u should receive a special award for being the most optimistic fans in world football.

A manager like Mourinho needs big financial support which is quite unrealistic once the financial fair play regulations that are set to be implemented at the start of the 2012-13 season begins. cool2.gif

AVB might be a small time manager in the Premier League but he has done or at least the club has done minimal spending during AVB tenure. As much as I hate AVB's rotation policy, AVB needs to be given chance to rebuild the squad according to his own plan. Roman paid £13 million pounds in the summer to prise Andre Villas-Boas from Porto so it would be stupid to sack him just after a season. whistling.gif

I don't expect much from Chelsea to win anything this season but what I really want by next season will be more reserved players involved in the first team and perhaps paying sensible price for new players, finding the right formation, tactics and reducing the rotation policy because it will be hard to create a consistent squad team in terms of result. icon_rolleyes.gif

As for ManU tonight, a draw would be good enough..... nod.gif

But Chelsea at the moment sure don't seem like a team capable of thrashing MU... unless of course one of their man got sent off... no offense here but you need to score a lot and playing Torres as lone striker while wanting to thrash MU is two things from different world

AVB has only 2 reasons for not starting Bertrand.

1) He think Bertrand not good enough.

2) He thinks since Bosingwa is arguably our fastest player, should be able to cope with Valencia.

Hope his plan doesnt backfire.

draw.. still ok because i expect we lose. i wont comment on ref decision. like i say, sometime is goes against us.

both team deserved the result. manU is not up to their standard while it was a 50minutes of pure luck for our team. sadly, the match is 90minutes and we fall short before that.

Beginning of the game, we all said draw good enough.

After watching the game, really disappointed with a draw.

Decent performance, next week hope Suarez terrorise the shit out of that diver.

What a boring fixed game. The market was fair play and it ended 3-3 just as planned. Howard Webb made two big time penalty mistakes but I got a feeling ManU will just get a draw game after the ref gave United a penalty that wasn't.

This is a fixed draw game and the only player that earn my respect was Juan Mata. mad.gif

One mistake AVB made was taking off Sturridge and play defensive. He should sub Essien out instead.

Ok...Ok... enough with diving rant lol. Game over already, cant do no nuts about it.

Once Ramires back, midfield of Ramires---Essein---Mata should be used every game. Romeu slowly turning into Mikel "slow-passing" style already.

i dont think so. taking out sturridge was purely tactical to protect the lead. Essien shouldn't be subbed out either.
but to be honest, taking off sturridge was costly as we look clueless in attack after they've got the 2nd goal.

i'd take off meireles, or malouda

Why we still keep Torres in January? We should sell it for a bargain! With or without Drogba, he's still sucks! Roman made so many transfer mistakes. He needs to understand the role of an owner rather than manager.

1 point against Man Utd is decent enough. We lucky Webb didnt give Man Utd one penalty in first half anyway.

Torres brilliant outside the box, pretty much panic inside the box everytime. Really hope he can start scoring again.

First penalty was a soft one but 2nd was total bluff, but still ok we got 2 deflected goal anyway. But CHELSEA get pegged back 3 goal this is something NEW, back in the days we have no trouble holding 1 goal lead. That why parking the bus also need training de, not just by simply putting men behind. To be fair i think TORRES did ok, he been fighting all the high ball this time but still lack that confidence to shoot eh.

1 point against Man Utd is decent enough. We lucky Webb didnt give Man Utd one penalty in first half anyway.
Torres brilliant outside the box, pretty much panic inside the box everytime.  Really hope he can start scoring again.
*
+1. overall torres play pretty well bar the extra touch that make his drought continue. his assist for mata was inch perfect. could use him for wide role and put lukaku in the middle.

This game reminds me or Arsenal 4- Newcastle 4.

Both game also saw deserved winners ruined by sad consequences.

Like i said, good luck with webb around blush.gif

Mu deserved one penalty in the first half but they didn't deserve two in the second half more so the second one.
Since one cancels another,mu got one undeserving penalty.

If any of you noticed he was very quick to point to the spot.Just saying rolleyes.gif

That being said webb is an inconsistent and overrated ref.He shouldn't be given these type of games anymore.

as a matter of fact not really. wasnt a clear goal scoring oppurtunity summore. a yellow for the challenge might have been a correct decision. it was outside penalty box right?

What's with all the high heat stir frying going on here? we not even title rivals for this season, why so intense?

Of course im very dissapointed we let a 3-0 lead slip. But before the match, i would have accepted a draw. So meh.

Yeah, spot on. It's normal. Wait till tomorrow for proper analysis of game. Emotions take over for at least 12 hours before we start to analyse it properly. It's normal.

Btw, that commentator , Craig Burley, I know he former Chelsea player ( never saw him play before though), but he really anti-Chelsea .

A lot of games where he commentate, never ever say good thing about Chelsea. Tonight leading 3-0 also keep saying Man Utd were the dominant team.

Tomorrow maybe Graham Poll will give a piece of his mind (penalty call & overall ref performance) for this game on his column. He's not shy to criticize fellow referee. Stay tune.

it was not penalty .. but welbeck raced clear from defenders if you saw it perfectly
the only obstacle was the cahill mistimed tackle leg that clipped welbeck from behind

Don't know about that. You got me there.

Though there is still this argument that it was outside the box.

Considering the amount of controversy involved over the past two years when webb has taken charge of this affair,he shouldn't be taking this type of matches again as he has made too many errors. This is regardless of man utd fans accusing him of favouring the other team or the opponents doing likewise.

In short, webb shouldn't referee mu vs chelsea matches anymore and any liverpool game since he was recorded singing YNWA.

welbeck was going wide iinm. a yellow for the challenge shud be d right decision.

there a string of webb suspicious decision throughout the game. to name some (other than above incident):
torres's yellow card?
the two penalties?

the yellow for torres debatable... torres wasnt going to get the ball yet he nudged him from behind

althou might not contain malice but somehow it knocked the butt of evans ...sometimes small impact oso cant hurt a player

two penalties...soft but last season in stamford bridge chelsea oso won such soft penalty conceded by Smalling smile.gif

i can also say if cahill have seen red early game that would have changed the entire context dont u think?

Yea.. might be true.. The penalty might be a simulation, but the simulation maybe resulted from the decision against them in the first half, desperate I think? If Webb was on Man United's side like all people claim, shouldn't he gives a red to Cahill ? If Webb gives the foul, and resulting the MU players din get so frustrated, they might not dive? It's psychological too, right?

Guys.. this if debate will be endless. In the end, it was the referee's decision, their call. No matter the foul, the dive, the offsides..

bro, i dunno if i'm the only who thinks that you come in peace here and discussed the game properly, but i really do think that u come with good intention.

but based on what u said 'but to claim our players managed a draw just because solely of ref decision is stupid', do u think us chelsea fans don't feel the way u do when we won a soft penalty here, and snatching all 3 points here last season?

and how about drogba's offside goal at OT last 2 seasons? i can also say 'but to claim chelsea won the 09/10 epl because of "drogba's offside goal at OT -> 3 points at OT -> overtook Man Utd -> costed Man Utd the season" is stupid.' we were the best team that season, no doubt about it. i know alot of u guys congratulated Chelsea right after Chelsea lifted the trophy, but i'm sure i saw some poster posting about drogba's offside goal be it at MUST or this thread, be it last 2 years or last year

hence you should not label everyone who came here intended to troll

im came here and discuss or voice out my opinion nicely..but yet somebody said we're all trolled and all sarcastic remarks are thrown towards me (others)

and well about that ... lost in stamford bridge definitely played a role..but it's not cup final or two legged tie... hence chelsea probably a deserved winner smile.gif

duno wad u feel... we both didn't deserve to win or lose tonight ... a draw probably the best outcome?

btw dun reply with sarcastic remarks that said we're supposed to getting 3 points tonight ( in a place we haven got a win in 10 years?) and chelsea is only at 4th place

biggest winner of the week is man city and arsenal ....

and tats why i said it's bout luck whether ref saw it the same way as we or not. moot points over the game. but to claim our players managed a draw just because solely of ref decision is stupid. we played quite well on attacking /counter attack however no end products until THAT point of the game.

I can seriously cant think why some people think I'm trolling or not respecting you lot. My words did not contain any rude or malice element

eh? did i say your players managed a draw solely on the ref's decisions? certainly didn't. now why would u put words in my mouth, unless that's what u REALLY think happened in the match? icon_idea.gif

Erm, anyone here feeling that none of our players played badly tonight? Even malouda was decent enough for me.

My only complain is when we were 3-2 up, Iva, Luiz and Cahill keep hoofing up long balls. Was frustrating to see that. Our backpass/sidepass no penetration tactic could had been used instead since Man Utd would had left space behind since they chasing the game.

AVB replied as follows:-

"Of course, it's not easy to take," he told Sky Sports 1. "A game where we were very positive and had the initiative for most of it.

"It's a massive recovery for United. It'll feel like a win for them, of course. We had it in our hands and let it slip.

"There were some strange decisions today though. At Old Trafford we lost two goals that were offside and I see Sir Alex speaking about the linesman just after they recall him.

"These things just keep happening. The first one is a penalty and I agree with it. The second is very, very unlucky.

"I'm not sure if Howard is trying to compensate for something."

i thought the players played well if you compare their performance with the last game we played. the only one who was not performing was howard webb. sometimes i just think, EPL is arguably the best football league in the world but the quality of refereeing is simply not good enough. how can this happen? i cannot brain this...

Ok chill everyone. I am also dissapointed with the result as well but whats done is done. Looking at the bright side, isnt anyone happy with the way we play? Compared to our game with swansea, i was expecting we get a bashing from MU last night but we got one hell of heart pounding match. Hopefully we can play fast game like this on our next match.

Congrats for Howard Webb, what a man of the match performance. It's inevitably isn't it? to see the result coming that way when first you see Howard Webb on the starting line up instead of Chris Foy. Well, the latter might not be a bad option as well for SAF.

but hey, u still can't cross the bridge of Stamford for 10 years whistling.gif

This.. I even mentioned that Man Utd will break their jinx of not winning at SB (in EPL) since 2000 or 2002 (finally i get to know its 2002 yesterday) few days ago in this thread.. but credit to our players, I thought all of them played well compared to last few games.
Just one though - Fernando missing his best chance in the game by having too many touches on the ball before shooting...end up got no chance to shoot at all doh.gif

after 3 - 0 infront, Chelsea should defense like nobody business. Play 8-1-1 would be enough and long ball. Flooding crosses and put many effort to try.
De Gea is losing his confidence and may get goals or get corners.

The official line on Chelsea's thrilling draw with Manchester United
QUOTE
What a game and probably a fair result. I felt referee Howard Webb performed well despite it being impossible to officiate with accuracy given the way the players acted.

There were four big decisions, all penalty appeals for Manchester United, and Webb knows that his viewing angle was crucial in hoping to get every call right.

I see what are you thinking there but that's not what it is. Recently his article was too short for his usual standard and sometime no entry for a week. But it was my mistake, make assumption too early. He posted 3 articles for today. (the time i posted the article above, there's only 1 entry dated 5th February).

not a disappointing result, but end in disappointing way. I never expect chelsea can go ahead with 3-0, with such a top mood, dropped and hit the floor heavily.

4th place is hot, Newcastle, liverpool and arsenal all hunting for it.

yea, we got decisions favored to us in the same fixture last season and ultimately resulting us 3 points. this time, we got one point. better than no points at all, no? let's move on...everton away next. the only team unclelotti wasn't able to beat.. this time we've already beat them home (epl) and away (carling), hope the momentum continues rclxms.gif

yeap, his long-range effort ..perfect if the ball went in happy.gif
IMO, sturridge loss confidence after he 'fouled' Evra.. kinda loss his mood when he 'gave' ManU the first penalty.. should have subbed him earlier for Lukaku~

Was really impressed at the start of the second half when Torres and Mata looking at each other before the whistle start the game, and before you know it.. goal.. that was definitely brilliant thumbup.gif

so u missed Mata amazing goal? rugi wor..

i guess, we did pretty good considering that we haven't been in our best of form recently. honestly, before the match start a draw result would be hugely appreciated.

not taking anything away from MU, they show a lot more hunger to get a comeback. the typical "never write them off until the final whistle" statement is again proving a point. the team only had themselves (and Howard Webb) to blame for not holding the unexpected 3-0 lead.

De Gea save for Mata freekick and Cahill long range effort deserve a shout too.

anyway, i jizzed when Mata volleyed that ball from Nando cross.

satisfied with all of our players except malouda. AVB's only mistake imo. perhaps oreo in a slightly advanced position would've been better. would love to see the statistics on flomo's pass completion rate. we badly missed lampard because of a lack of a better option. notice how everybody noticeably upped their game in the second half, apart from the magnificent florent.

mata just has that special quality where he can be anonymous for one half, then suddenly come up with a sublime goal and assist in less than 10 minutes. we need more players like juan, plain and simple. essien was tiring towards the end, but still did a great job in the middle. meireles was allrite, but seems to have lost his shooting boots. oreo's form is slowly deteriorating, and i suspect is because he hasn't been given a consistent run of games lately.

neway..kinda getting bored of matches being heavily influenced by the incompetency of officials lately. its getting old to be honest. playing favourites? honest mistakes? couldn't be bothered? incident wasn't clear? can't really tell anymore these days.

EXCLUSIVE: Roman's big shock for AVB! Chelsea boss 'shaken' after showdown
Andre Villas-Boas is fighting to convince Roman Abramovich he is still the man for the Chelsea job  after an amazing showdown on Saturday.

Sportsmail can reveal that Villas-Boas was locked in talks with Abramovich at Chelsea's training ground on Saturday.

Abramovich turned up without any warning to watch them train before Sunday's 3-3 draw with Manchester United, when Villas-Boas's side threw away a 3-0 lead.

The Russian billionaire, flanked by key adviser Eugene Shvidler and fellow Chelsea director Eugene Tenenbaum, arrived at the training ground in Cobham before the start of training and the players were stunned when Abramovich walked out to watch Villas-Boas's session.

He saw 35 minutes of training before spending another half an hour with  Villas-Boas demanding to know tactics for the game against United.

After watching Chelsea draw he went into the dressing room and spent about half an hour talking to the players.

The club's billionaire backer has become increasingly frustrated with the team's lack of progress this season and was determined to see at first hand the work of his young Portuguese manager.

Villas-Boas has been struggling to command the respect of the players in his first season at the club.

The squad were given no notice that Abramovich, who has not been seen at the training ground for months, would arrive to watch them prepare for the United game.

Abramovich spent four hours assessing the mood at the club. He rarely visits the site he bought to create the perfect environment for Chelsea's expensively assembled team.

Abramovich did attend the training ground before becoming involved in a high-profile court case with former associate Boris Berezovsky.

According to club sources he was pre-occupied with the case but has turned his attention to Chelsea while awaiting the court judgement.

Villas-Boas has always maintained that he has the full support of Abramovich but he has been left in no doubt about the demands of being Chelsea manager.

Some players believe dressing-room morale has been fractured beyond repair under Villas-Boas. That is a theory Abramovich put to the test on Saturday and Villas-Boas is understood to have been left shaken by  the visit.

Carlo Ancelotti operated under similar circumstances when he was Chelsea manager and told friends life became 'intolerable' because of the pressure on him from above.

Man, I just hope he didnt get sack middle of the season. A young manager with bright future ahead. Sudden sacking will surely ruin his future path.

nahh i don't think he'll get the sack yet. roman did a spot-check on the squad just to see how things are going. it just shows how much he cares for the club. icon_rolleyes.gif

FFP rules closing in. roman will not risk being excluded from the CL just to bring in someone else imo. we'll be focused on financing some quality players in the summer, rather than financing another compensation package, hopefully. but he is still essentially a young manager, with a lot to learn.

Okay, I just watched the highlights. It was pretty good. We could've got a 3 neil defeat if our finishing weren't that good. The statement of 'fantastic finishing win you the game' is once again proven. Same goes to United, they didn't waste a chance, they shoot, they scored.
Torres chance was a big shock. I don't freaking understand why he didn't shoot, perfect position, on his stronger foot, JUST SHOOT IT. DAMN IT TORRES.

3-3 might be just a fair result I think. Great to see Essien is back, totally boss the midfield. We miss lampard and ramires really, malouda in the midfield is just not good enough.

Despite the 3 goal we score, we did not looks threatening or create any other chances till the 50minutes. Only when MANU when gungho we have more space up front to play with. The passing on first half was terrible even with CECH, many short passes hit opponent leg, we still play the same passing ball to the feet and no one actually try to dash forward for a through ball, all just standing waiting for a pass to the feet. Defensive wise, yes everyone was blaming WEBB but by CHELSEA standard get pegged back 3 goal simple means our defence does not do enough.

If you ask me, the first half was totally boring and only TORRES+MATA goal manage to put a smile on the whole match.

Maybe u just watch the highlight but you cannot judge his game yesterday just because of that miss chance, overall i think he have a good game, he is fighting all the long ball, he did often come deep to get the ball and be more involve with the game rather than sitting inside the box mark by several defender and of course that nicely done cross assist for MATA.

AVB is too young... I fear that it's hard for him to earn respects from players are their age gap is too small and it's just hard for him to put his strategy/tactics into use if the players don't cooperate.

it not easy for him to gain back his confident.
it have been nightmare for him in these 2 seasons. and we can see what those nightmare can do a high quality player like Torres.
Also our midfield division below standard, imo.
certainly is good to see essien back to game. a big boost for Chelsea.
without xabi Alonso caliber player it hard to fully utilize player like Torres when Xabi Alonso left Liverpool we can see Torres losing it sting. just my opinion though.
Torres now is changing his playing style. mayb it just me. laugh.gif

Chelsea currently lacking off playmaker and a fast winger.

Watch closely past few games and you can notice even Mata don't pass straight to Torres. Quite a few times Torres made a run, but Mata just opted to dummy, then pass to the wings/pass back.

I agree Mata and Gerrard are completely different players. Mata is the player who can bring the ball forward by his individual abilities instead of passing the ball toward the forward. We normally see Gerrard and Xabi send the ball forward instead of using pace and tricks to beat his marker. That's what we often call, starting the attack from the back. We need this kind of players too. Lampard used to do that too, but you know. We can't blame him, he has done for us so many years, and we can't expect any more than this at this age.

Essien return is really a BIG BIG boost. I can see him fitting in AVB system really well. I just hope that he can stay fit to help us fight for the trophies until the last game.

Added on February 6, 2012, 8:59 pmOh finally AVB play 4231.
Malouda on the left wing and Mata behind Torres should be alright though.
Meireles+Essien in the double pivot. I am alright with it.
By the way,

Roman come to get the list name for summer transfer..and ask AVB do you still need the old guard.. laugh.gif

for me..the second penalty claim not legit because the foul committed outside the box..the first one..how come he fall on the different direction of his shirt was pulled?? not a penalty..

the next two penalty not actually a penalty..pure dive..but according to the rules when the ref given the penalty then penalty it is..just admit that that two penalty was a dive..most of the pundits agree that ref was biased toward MU..even after the game discussion..they still talking about Webb biased CHE 1-2 MU..

nothing change..the score will remain 3-3 and a point for both side..just when you blindly defend your side and ignoring the fact..then no point of discussing anything..

CHELSEA

New pairing for CD..room for improvement..a sense a glimpse of Terry in Cahill...maybe his clearance...

Malouda suddenly a decent CM..hahaha

Bosingwa a capable LB..

if we look at our bench..and leading 3-0..we were lucky..with the two deflection goals... doh.gif

Malouda sure going to start vs Everton. He's the most rubbish player currently in the 25-man squad. As for Romeu,he's slowly learning from Mikel.Look at his slow pass. And Mata,he doesn't even pass to Torres. He will hold up the ball, then pass to the left/right fullbacks.Every player in Chelsea likes to f***ing delay on the ball and take extra unnecessary touches.Against teams that park the bus, there's no way to penetrate.Chelsea has the most negative football ever.I'm a football neutral,I love watching beautiful football. Not some boring shitty ass football that Chelsea play. But yesterday's game was a bit of an exception. It was more fast-paced.Expect business to resume as usual against Everton.

i wonder why people still discussing about the decision that didn't go our way. it was part and parcel of the game. nothing can be done to overcome it. unless some new technologies is introduced into the game. but some people might disagree on this because it will destroy the drama in the game.

and to those manU fans that come here to show your diplomacy or what so ever, it was easy for you to say anything you want because the game simply went in your favor. i said this because 1 point is surely better than nothing. so, what will happen if you actually lose the game? will you came over here and act cool like nothing happen? it is a norm when a team suffer a defeat or a draw, the opposition fans is not welcomed in the thread. you expect people to respect you but you yourself did not respect others.

a neutral here. watched the whole game yesterday. the 2 penalty for Man U should not be given, but then Man U had 2 legitimate penalty should be given before that. on to the game, chelsea play good game.. until the 3rd goal. after that somehow nearly all of the chelsea players become like selfish n nak tunjuk skill.. torres should have buried the one chance he got. conclusion, the result is bad for chelsea and man u biggrin.gif

You know, I don't think Welbeck meant to dive for 2nd penalty, he just running too fast and dragged his foot along to Ivanovic and tripped by Iva. Sadly Webb saw it as a penalty.

Not wanting to see players getting booked, but Wayne Rooney was annoying with his shouting for every single foul, not sure about this, but commentator said he even made physical contact with ref.

However we want to look at this, referees are still professionals, Webb just gave penalties on what he thinks. It's just unfortunate that his ones helping Man Utd often gets magnified.

i hope we all can see chelsea progressing in UCL and also FA cup. our position in the league is not quite good, at least we have a shot at both of the competitions mentioned earlier. i really do hope we can win at least one title at the end of the season. it can buy time at least one more season for AVB considering roman's patience is running thin at the moment...

Ferdinand is not from academy. And Ferguson has break plenty of record with his signing in the past. Remember Berbatov?

that argument is simply invalid. man city spend a lot more than us and there is no need to talk about real madrid. we spend simply because we can afford it while you guys being burden by your own owner. so, it was your loss.

So many MU fans were ex-glory hunters who jumped on the bandwagon when they were the dominant force during the 90's and early 00's when they kept winning a lot of silverware. And now those same fools are saying that MC and Chelsea have a lot of glory hunters.Come on,every team has their fair share of supporters who supported their current favourite team because of the successes they had.

MU fans should really think before they speak, not come up with some trash that shows how arrogant and shallow they are.And they think that Chelsea bought their trophies. They think that SAF doesn't buy players at all, that all of them like Ronaldo,Rooney,Ferdinand came from their academy laugh.gif You think that just buying all the top players in the world will guarantee u a trophy? It depends on teamwork, chemistry and tactics from the right manager too. Many MU fans so called pride themselves in not having bought the trophy..yea right it's not like as if u guys didn't buy any players AT ALL.

i have to disagree with those who are saying two of our goals were purely down to luck. the first came about from danny's fantastic dribble down the right which forced de gea untuk an error, and if evans didn't get something on it (which resulted in the OG) we had players waiting to smash it home anyway. the third one by a luiz header was arrowing into the bottom left-hand corner, but ferdinand made absolutely sure via a poor, unsuccessful block. so no they weren't lucky, they were result of hard work and persistence. i mean..compare that to both of rooney's goals which weren't lucky either, because they were down to howard webb. laugh.gif

hope lampard is back in the side vs everton (wow often have we said that this season?), because at the moment i think even stamford the lion can do a better job there in the middle or out wide.

have u guys read about roman outlining the 'minimum' objectives for AVB in this campaign, recently? as we've all suspected its a top four finish or we'll most probably see the back of him in the very near future. i think its a fair shout by our owner, and not totally unreasonable. having said that i don't think he'll throw away more money for compensation packages, so it'll be interesting to see what happens if we drop out of the CL places. let's hope it doesn't come to that.

one problem i foresee is with players who realise deep down their time will soon be up for the blues, *cough* malouda *cough*. how do we motivate them to sweat blood for a cause they themselves know they won't be a part of? hmm.gif

i rmb he scored a goal for the reserve team..and what a magnificent goal it is. surely he will be an important asset for us in the future, i really hope avb will let him play once for senior team appearance before the end of this season

it seems like everyone here agrees that Piazon to be our next hotshot midfiled playmaker? wah so fast we forgot mceachren already...btw the kids not getting much playtime at swansea either...i wonder wats wrong with him? is his role is too iche for any teams to play him frequently...

Cant blame Brendan Rodgers for not playing Josh though.

Since January, his midfield trio of Allen-Sygdursson-Gower/Britton have been performing well, so I guess it's hard to find space for Josh to play. I don't think even Brendan Rodgers expected that trio to perform this well.

dont know whether this thing pointed out or not..

why some fans booed Ferdinand? i think it's disgrace for Chelsea FC..

fans often booing oppositions for no reason, or silly reason.. but this is entirely worst at different level.. just because Rio is a brother of Anton, alleged victim of racist on Terry's case..

yeah, it quite similar when Wayne Bridge get booed last time. Benayoun also getting harsh reception in his cameo against Malaysian XI. That's shown that the westerner civilization were not any better than us too, don't they? But hey, they were human after all and and speaking of different level, how come MU fans chanted "Racist Suarez" in the match against Fulham at Craven Cottage?

I think because of his alleged remark that he didnt want to shake terry's hands as a result from terry's fiasco with his brother.

Not the outcome that we would like to expect but we could've lost it as well. I thought Torres was pretty alright too, but why AVB sub out Sturrigde, I have no idea. Guess we will still work a bit more on our defense but at least we don't have to worry that we have a 'De Gea' moment.

He hoped to preserve the lead by subbing studge with more defensive minded player (i.e. oreo) but the plan backfired eh.

IMO, he subbed sturridge cause he lose confidence after giving away the penalty when he challenged Evra..

Inconsistent refereeing decision, especially 2nd penalty and some minor fouls, which as usual favours United.

After Chelsea 3-0 down the road, i really thought they can win, after 1st penalty until the 2nd penalty happened, really can feel Chelsea will throw the match to let United to make it 3-3 or United 4-3 ...

Not the usual Chelsea that i used to watch ... set piece is very poor and united capitalize easily ... United deserved the draw since Villas Boas seems happy with the draw ...

I guess problem with Romeu is that he doesnt get consistent playing time now, that's why slowly degrading his standard of play. Too bad his position not needed too often when we fighting defensive teams.

Malouda seriously needs to improve his standard of play. He performed well in past seasons, don't give us a bad last impression of you please.

Even if he isn't in our future plans, how is he gonna get big club offers in summer if he don't perform well for us now?

REVEALED: Referee who's given Man United the most Premier League penalties (it's NOT Howard Webb)

is Mike Dean.... but i hate chris foy the most.. we got all bad decision from him.

only one good referee = Martin Atkinson biggrin.gif

If play Torrest as Winger, it could be a waste too given his ability to destroy the defense game reading, unless Chelskis really have 1 very wonderful striker, who is good at box to box finisher ... Drogba yes, but he isnt as agile as 2 years ago ...

Torres and Mata linked very well ... however, as i seen, Mata finishing is much more deadly than Torres lately, who instead become more to attacking from midfield ...

i wonder if roman abramovich like to see boring 1-0 win and bring us title or interesting 3-3 draw and win nothing at the end of the season. this is result industry. sometimes you have to dig deep and win ugly...

Despite the 3-3 scoreline, the game is equally boring, especially the first half. Only after we went 3-0 at 50min then MANU turn gungho that leave more space for us to attack. Sometimes thing like that will mislead that we actually play better, same when we play lesser opponent when they grab the 1st goal then at 2nd half they already set their mind at defending, thus less attacking and pressing that allow us to get more attacking but that does not mean we actually play better.
