Alright, shocking result really. I didn't watch the game, was in hometown yesterday. What was happening actually?
What formation were we playing and were we creating chances?
Internet is so slow today, i guess i gotta wait for a long time before i can watch the highlights sad.gif

Okay, I just watched the highlights. It was pretty good. We could've got a 3 neil defeat if our finishing weren't that good. The statement of 'fantastic finishing win you the game' is once again proven. Same goes to United, they didn't waste a chance, they shoot, they scored.
Torres chance was a big shock. I don't freaking understand why he didn't shoot, perfect position, on his stronger foot, JUST SHOOT IT. DAMN IT TORRES.

3-3 might be just a fair result I think. Great to see Essien is back, totally boss the midfield. We miss lampard and ramires really, malouda in the midfield is just not good enough.

I agree Mata and Gerrard are completely different players. Mata is the player who can bring the ball forward by his individual abilities instead of passing the ball toward the forward. We normally see Gerrard and Xabi send the ball forward instead of using pace and tricks to beat his marker. That's what we often call, starting the attack from the back. We need this kind of players too. Lampard used to do that too, but you know. We can't blame him, he has done for us so many years, and we can't expect any more than this at this age.

Essien return is really a BIG BIG boost. I can see him fitting in AVB system really well. I just hope that he can stay fit to help us fight for the trophies until the last game.

Added on February 6, 2012, 8:59 pmOh finally AVB play 4231.
Malouda on the left wing and Mata behind Torres should be alright though.
Meireles+Essien in the double pivot. I am alright with it.
By the way,

Ramires I dont think so, Lampard trained for 3 days I think.

But MIKEL is back whistling.gif  he can ignite title race? whistling.gif  whistling.gif
Btw guys, I don't think you all will trust Castrol Edge Rankings anymore after this.

Look at who's their top midfielder. ( Note: Might had change if viewed next month)

Castrol Edge Rankings Midfielder

I never really trust the statistics like that. Just like EPL index score.I remember 'that guy' topped the EPL index score last season too right? Always a bit misleading. For fantasy PL players would understand this tongue.gif

Looking at the result is disappointing, watching the game would be desperate. I didn't watch the game, perhaps that's the only positive outcome I can take from this match.
2-0 defeat, we're Chelsea, we are a Champions League team, we are the big four, to have a 2-0 defeat is just a big shame. I don't know, AVB, players or what, everyone look clueless.
Judging from the previous games in this season, only Ramires,Terry, Mata and Sturridge(double check the players..) are the first team players who show their desire to win the game, other than that, I think other players just play for their salary. Luiz, Iva might just played on par with their quality.
I think it's better for me to watch at least the highlight before I can criticize the players in this match. (Might end up with some rage doh.gif )

Sigh, to be honest, I am, very sorry to say this. I am enough with Torres.
He's poor, he's terrible, he's not providing, his positioning is abysmal.
Drogba is alright, at least better than Torres. I am very sorry Torres.
Ivanovic is 100x better than Bosingwa, I really hope Bosingwa won't play again. This sounds harsh, but he's really terrible, could've been a defeat if Bosingwa plays in Iva place.

For Napoli,
Mata Drogba Sturridge
Lampard Essien Ramires

AVB, your one last chance.
Positive note I can take from this match, I am very satisfied with AVB substitution.

I am worry for our future, we got no striker at all. NO ONE. Drogba is very old now, Lukaku isn't ready yet. Maybe Sturridge take the central role?
Depends on Drogba fitness, or I would rather start Sturridge in the middle and Kalou on the right against Napoli.

I think it's a shame for the local fans chanting Mourinho fan. Don't say they pay expensive ticket to watch football, but when your team is in down time, you shouldn't 'boo' your own team. Instead, giving energy and radiating the confidence from the stand to the pitch is a more ideal way.
Mourinho fans are just living in fantasy, wanting jose to join our club and expect 500m from Roman to rebuild the squad. This sounds harsh, but we need to back our own manager, and the players as well.
Well, I know AVB isn't doing well, but we need to give him more time. Look at Arsenal, they crashed out. So, sack Wenger?

Alright, I am sorry if I created flare in this thread. I had to express, I don't like the fans chanting for MOURINHO name. It haunts everyone in the team. The management, the board, the manager and the most important, the players.
We all know that Chelsea have been living with Mourinho ghost for few years. But, as time goes on, players are getting off their prime time. We can't live with Mourinho ghost anymore. It's time to move on.

Expressing our dissatisfy is alright to manager, at least he knows he's not doing good. But I believe, the media has already done their job. The manager knows he's doing bad, the result is the perfect proof too. But, chanting Mourinho name? That's just unacceptable. We can express our dissatisfy, but we can't influence the players. The players, especially ego players will have the mindset that, it's the manager who fxck everything up, but not themselves as a player. The mindset is totally wrong. We are a team remember, we got to work as the team, players should have the responsible with the poor results we are getting too.

Get over with it I would say. We are now under AVB. You don't buy a 16 a barbie doll just because she misses her memories at her age 2.

My lineup, I will go for the preferable 433.
Mata Sturridge Ramires
Lampard Romeu Essien
Bertrand Luiz Cahill Iva
Cech

I wonder, why Romeu isn't starting lately? Ohh! is it that's the reason for our recent slump? blink.gif

Chelsea starting lineup (4-3-3): Petr Cech; Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic; Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Ramires; Juan Mata, Didier Drogba, Daniel Sturridge.

Substitutes from: Ross Turnbull, Fernando Torres, John Obi Mikel, Florent Malouda, Raul Meireles, Salomon Kalou, Ryan Bertrand.

The best eleven. Finally AVB got it totally right. I think he started to read the articles online. We got to win this match, this is the best eleven. NO MORE EXCUSE. Victory is the only option.

Come on blues!

Finally, finally! A VICTORY.
Can't ask more than that. Lampard, great performance, that finish! *drool*
Ivanovic is so good in right back huh? Cahill impressed me with his pace, look how many times he wins the ball with his pace!Essien is very composed with the ball and Luiz passing are just delicious.
I am satisfied with the performance today. But sometimes we still need someone who can really pass the ball.

It's really hard to rate who is the MOTM.
Personally I like Luiz. He's sensational today.
Essien contribution is like holding a piano[ramires used this when he explained the duty of a DM] and let others to play with it.
Lampard is very very good too. Same goes to Drogba.

I would take, Luiz as my MOTM. Really good guy, on and off the pitch, I like him biggrin.gif

this kind of question is not necessary la bro. later only bring heat among us.

btw, we can see that when the old guard playing together (Drogba, Lampard & Essien) the chemistry is there. Lot of decent through ball or passing into space created by Chelsea last night. somehow it reflected on what Carletto and Makelele comments.

I got to say, I agree with this. Essien totally bossed the midfield, amazing composure. It seems impossible to get the ball from him. Lampard, as expected, making wonderful runs, could've been a wonder goal if he done the nasri-esque move. Ramires always an engine in midfield, leave space for him, then you're dead. Clearly you can see the opposition team always ready one player available to track his lung bursting runs.
Drogba's fitness looks good despite his age, I hope he can continue playing like this. He needs to, a team who play with 433 need a striker who can contribute and link up very well with the flank men(right and left winger), which was done by Drogba wonderfully yesterday.
Luiz is our Pirlo heh? Great deep lying playmarker ability he has there.
Next two is away to West brom and birmingham replay, hopefully this win will be the start of our winning streak.

I might say I am not a AVB fan boy, but I definite support him to stay in the club. His contract is a two year contract, next season would be crucial for him. But I really, hope that he can stay for a longer time. He has the idea, he got the vision, he got the plan. I still believe in him. He got huge potential in him, Bolton XI gave me some hope. At least he understands what's wrong with the team.

The only bad thing I don't like is, he's putting faith into a wrong player for a long time. Examples, Bosingwa! Meireles! Malouda! Torres(?)
Great to see him dropping EVERYONE who was poor in recent match and picked the best XI for Bolton. Hope this will be his 'a-ha!' moment.

Unchanged side against West Brom today.
By the way, Arsenal is leading 2-1 now, fantastic finish by RVP, that's what a world class striker can give you.
Come on Chelsea! Let's win against west brom!

whoa shocking news in this very early morning. Wasn't expecting this fast.
Indeed, we're changing managers on and off. Non stop. I wonder, is there any manager dare to take this job again? Maybe all the rafa benitez rumours might become true.
I don't know, I really don't know. Time to move on I think.
I wish AVB good luck, perhaps Chelsea are just too big for him to manage.

The sacking shook the world, it shook me too. Life is up and down, I think this is the biggest downfall AVB ever experience. No, I shed tears. It's so terrible to see how cruel can this world to be. He was declared as the 'manager in the future' and he appointed the Chelsea. He's trying to make the impossible possible. But, 8 months, he's out. He's out from club, perhaps not the end of his career, but I hope his time in Chelsea would be an experience that helps him to build your potential to peak and become the best manager in the world. I like AVB, but maybe Chelsea is just not a place for you to succeed, a place for you to learn. I wish all the best to along your career, 34 now, 40 years more to go!
