QUOTE(mhyug @ Mar 15 2012, 10:34 AM) actually if you qualify outside top 4 you cant enter the cl.auto qualification for winners was scrapped long ago. are u sure? sos?anyway good comeback. usually holder automatically get the chance to defend their title in the following season This post has been edited by Alexdino: Mar 15 2012, 10:45 AM |

QUOTE(Alexdino @ Mar 15 2012, 10:42 AM) yes you can read up at UEFA website.also just see who qualified for Cl this season from Spain.it was barca, real, villareal, and valencia whom finished in top 4.barca won last season so their place should fall to others but it didnt else sevilla 5th last year would have gotten in.remember liverpool won one season and yet finished 5th behind everton.they were given a chance to defend the title after much deliberation by the FA and uefa but went trough the process of qualification rounds from rnd 1. edit: 2 of you beat me to my post haha This post has been edited by mhyug: Mar 15 2012, 10:57 AM |

UEFA Champions League The top four teams in the Barclays Premier League qualify for the UEFA Champions League. English winners of the UEFA Champions League finishing outside the top four places (but who qualify for the UEFA Europa League through their domestic Barclays Premier League position) go forward as Winners to the group stage along with domestic champions, runners-up and third place. No extra domestic place can be gained by winning the UEFA Champions League, therefore the team finishing fourth drops to the UEFA Europa League. English winners of the UEFA Champions League who do not qualify through their domestic position go forward as Winners to the group stage, with the team finishing fourth dropping to the UEFA Europa League. In this case, the national association of the title-holder is entitled to one additional place in the UEFA Europa League. maybe this old news , not sure also |

it will.. if Barca finish 5th in league last season.. they wil have to play qualifying round for next season UCL..
if Barca already have the auto qualification, then this place will not pass to 5th place of the league.. instead it will pass to other country.. UEFA said "additional entry will be given".. |

QUOTE(Alexdino @ Mar 15 2012, 10:42 AM) are u sure? sos? if my memory serves me right, the winner will still qualify for Champions League next season, it's the 4th team in the league will only go to Europa Leagueusually holder automatically get the chance to defend their title in the following season For Liverpool case it was the last time a country got their team qualified more than accepted slot, after that UEFA change the rules into what I pointed above. well that's what I remember, I don't know if it's right and still applicable. *sorry for the repeating points from 2 posts above, haven't posted before I was gonna post This post has been edited by alowie: Mar 15 2012, 10:58 AM |

From here:
http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/se...rmat/index.html QUOTE • The 2009/10 access list was changed according to the following principles: 22 teams (21 teams + the titleholder) qualify directly for the group stage instead of 16. The three national associations with the highest UEFA coefficient ranking each had three teams gain automatic entry to the group stage, with the countries ranked 4 to 6 in the standings having two automatic qualifiers and the associations ranked 7 to 13 having one. So the titleholder qualify directly to the group stage. You can download the pdf for more detailed information. Though, the link posted by yiporan is accurate enough. I don't think Premier League official website will keep outdated information. |

Essien was immerse. But just like Rosicky after back to back injuries, he lost his powerful long distance shooting ability. |
