liverpool was the last la. they went into qualifiers also cos they were 5th and champions. after that no more. that was the last time

yes you can read up at UEFA website.also just see who qualified for Cl this season from Spain.it was barca, real, villareal, and valencia whom finished in top 4.barca won last season so their place should fall to others but it didnt else sevilla 5th last year would have gotten in.


remember liverpool won one season and yet finished 5th behind everton.they were given a chance to defend the title after much deliberation by the FA and uefa but went trough the process of qualification rounds from rnd 1.

it will.. if Barca finish 5th in league last season.. they wil have to play qualifying round for next season UCL..

if Barca already have the auto qualification, then this place will not pass to 5th place of the league.. instead it will pass to other country..

UEFA said "additional entry will be given"..

if my memory serves me right, the winner will still qualify for Champions League next season, it's the 4th team in the league will only go to Europa League

For Liverpool case it was the last time a country got their team qualified more than accepted slot, after that UEFA change the rules into what I pointed above.

only maximum of 4 spot in CL available each country, 5th place definitely not going to qualify in normal case. but if he is the previous winner, he will the the spot with the rest of 1st - 3rd to make up to the number of 4.
