yea, price solutions is the subsidiary that houses all the retail sales staff. scope international is the subsidiary that houses all the ops staff. scb create these subs cos the subsidiary != bank therefore don't have bank benefits or unions

other banks also same ba. example citi open operations shop in KL also under subsidiary, forgot what name though.

If your bonus is contractual or target-based, and assuming 4 months bonus, then it's $60k p.a. ... which sucks ass.

I thought I would miss driving when I moved to SG (after 6 years working in KL), but I actually don't. MRT is super convenient, and when I'm lazy to stand, or going out on the weekends, I'll just take cab. End up spending couple hundred on transport a month which (dollar for ringgit) is still significantly less than the cost of owning and running a car in KL.


AIYO, like this then changes things already. Strictly speaking looking at the numbers, $60k p.a. is peanuts pay for your role / experience, and I feel you would somewhat downgrade your standard of living as compared to your rm90k p.a. M'sia job. But to be together with your loved one especially since planning to get married - personally I would take the hit to avoid long distance relationship.

Do note that renting an entire apartment changes the numbers significantly, though. Don't know how much your fiancee is earning, but whole apartment, you'll need to cough up somethign like $2.5k/mth (including utilities) for anything decent.

Last year when I was searching in East area (Bedok/Tampines/Pasir Ris), don't have anything under $2k unless you wanna stay 10+ bus stops away from MRT. I'm renting my 4-room for $2.3k.

Singapore, like in pretty much every other country, doesn't allow work on a tourist pass (which is what you would have). So no, legally there is no such thing as working for food/lodging.

Any of you hosted family for a couple nights before on the cheap? As in like, I need to house like 8 adults for 2 or 3 nights. Too many people to fit into my HDB, and hotel accommodation is like $200 x 4 rooms x 3 nights = $2,400

Kallang area $320 x 2 = $640/per room, seems about right what.

my fiancee did 2 medical checkup (one for LTVP long ago, one for EP recently). raffles clinic 3 days, shenton clinic 5 days. anyway no rush one lah you can actually start working before you do the medical checkup.

given the size of the hdb rooms here, i can't imagine 3 people sharing one room o_O
