New here. Going to buy AW M17x soon. Was searching for 8GB laptop ram. Which one is good? Can OC? (Still new, don't really understand a thing after reading)

EDIT: 1600Mhz 8GB Ram. Going to get 4 of them. Thanks. smile.gif if can OC, then will try to OC biggrin.gif

Currently there are a few ICs that are great at OC.

1) Samsung HCH9 & HYKO
2) Hynix BFR & CFR
3) PSC
4) Elpida BBSE

The rests are bad or just okay.

some info regarding this chip
QUOTE
average D9KPT/KPV clocks same as handpicked D9JNL/JNM

1600 7-7-7 : 1.70-1.75V for KPT , 1.75-1.80V for JNL
1800 7-7-7 : 1.85-1.90V for KPT , 1.90-2.00V for JNL
1800 8-8-8 : 1.70-1.75V for KPT , 1.75-1.80V for JNL
2000 8-8-8 : 1.90 for KPT , 1.95-2.00V for JNL
2000 9-9-9 : 1.70-1.75V for KPT , 1.85V for JNL

link : D9KPT @OCXtreme.org

btw you can go up to 1.65V which is very safe.
for benching, some people dare to go up to 1.9V (if the chip didn't give up yet)
but for me, 1.8V is my redline --> depends on voltage scaling for the chip.

which batch do you have? my YK0 1205 does 2133 10-11-10-30-1T at 1.325V ... currently limited by Sandy mem controller limitation, can't go beyond 2133 divider.
