Streamyx should first think on how to improve the services, then the satisfied customers can spread by word of mouth. Streamyx will never succeed in upping the nation's broadband penetration by offering nice packages like these!

RM88 isn't enough??? Yes we might have the cheapest rate for 512kbps coz most of other country is offering >1Mbps. See that article. They compare Malaysia with Australia Australia is known for its expensive broadband. Look at Singapore, you can get 25Mbps for RM280 that RM11.20 for 1 Mbps. Alot of ISP is offering 512kbps at expensive price to promote their faster package.


TM don't have enough bandwith to America and thats a big problem. They should upgrade it.

of coz the contract period is 2 years, u apply 88 package oso 2 years mah..

actually this 77 was same like 88 package, just they deduct the monthly fees from rm88 to rm77 for 2 years..

well..in malaysia..they are many things we are not satisfy with it..example, buy cars, university,college,broadband,telecommunication,property,and they are many more...

the reason?

it is not all becoz the authorities done the job badly..

it is oso because we always comparing with countries that are far more ahead from us..

example, we compare our broadband service to small country Singapore..

for such a small country, it is very easy to implement the new and lastest infrastructure..

we can have such broadband in malaysia too..in condition tat broadband is only avaliable in Klang Valley, other states and area, dun care...you wan malaysia to become like China ? where the gap is so huge and big ?????

y not comparing broadband to country tat dun even have internet or broadband ?

The Main Problem is not the SPEED!!!

i don't want a 10mbps broadband but latency outside malaysian liike SHIT!!

what i want is an average broadband 1mbps is enough.. but with NORMAL latency..
what i mean by normal latency:


Latency to Singapore, should not exceed 50ms.(TMnet achieve this)

Latency to China/Hongkong should not exceed 100ms(tmnet did not achieve this)

Latency to Japan/korea should not exceed 150ms9tmnet did not achieve this)

Latency to US should not exceed 250ms ort at max 300ms(most of the Time, yes tmnet achieve this)

Latency to UK/France/Europe should not exceed 250-300ms(nah tmnet route the traffic VIA USA, no hope of getting 250ms-300ms)


the Cause of the problem is very obvious.

No point Adding more subscribers with promotions like RM77+ free modem if they can't achieve those stated above.

if they cannot achieve what i stated, might as well not have broadband, what's the point of having broadband when the latency is Worst then 56k eg.700ms to USA sometimes, 1k ms to china....?


As an example,

LET'S SAY

ferrari has a top speed of 300km/h

BMW M3 has a top speed of 250km/h.

what's the point of owning a ferrari if malaysian road is badly designed such that u can only achieve max speed of 250km/h? might as well get the cheaper M3 right .

with M3 u can drive at 250km/h, with ferrari(although it can go to 300km/h nut the road here doesn't permit) , in the ENd.. both car same speed, but M3 is cheaper


YES, those germans owns ferrari, but remember, driving a ferrari there can reach 300km/h, but in malaysia max 250km/h... so what's the point, Just get a M3 which can also reach 250km/h.. but cheaper... right@!??


BOTTOM LINE, improve and upgrade the backbone... and not making more profits, i think they make enough profits adi.

First of all , as said..They should upgrade their current Network...Not by doing stupid promo..Cannot get 1Mbps , cannot keep up , then they should keep their old 384K/512K package.(let just compare the other way). Will we have problems , I think not and of course let them do their promo to get some $$$$ , once they think they can handle all the demanding traffic , go ahead and upgrade. Then everything will be stable. Now , their backbone also packed , and they are trying to force more users to register , so that they can upgrade. In the short run , they are wrong actually..It will make some other customers rant , becuase..its packed (imagine , one bus , which can carry 20 passengers , and u put 40 passengers instead (something like india..u might see..and other places)..Then how the bus can tahan). So till now , if they keep their old speed (and drop the price) , then I think the network will be okay , not be packed. and after they get their $$$$$ to upgrade their backbone , then they can upgrade to 512k/1mbps..at least..it will not make us rant....Right ?

ya that's the point... what's the point of attracting more customer when u can't handle the traffic..
