i had a hdd that had ticking sound... and it worked for another 5 yrs. so it's pure luck.
however, u should have a backup habit, regardless the condition of your hdd.

That ticking sound was 2 years ago and yes today still working. yea. Backup is the only way.

Start backing up and get a replacement ready.

I had that issue for a few HDD and they went bad very quickly.

Even if the warranty is still effective, RMA will take at least one month or more.

Suggest you go for a SSD instead as it will make your PS4 load faster.

Nice as it fits on the estimated price range. I think there's not much significant difference for PS4 to utilise an SSD as it's not erm...optimised in such hardware?

However, I wouldn't mind getting an SSD for my laptop/desktop instead. I makes a world difference. As for PS4, good 'ol HDD will do.
