Hi, may I ask, what are the biggest HDDs that i can fit into a laptop (9.5mm max)

I heard that there's a Samsung Spinpoint 2TB, and also a Seagate, but i'm not sure if there are any other models.

I've not been able to actually find these HDDs in Malaysia's online stores, but supposedly these 2 brands have superior specs (despite 5400RPM speeds) and better reliability. Any thoughts?

Hi guys,

I just bought a new 2TB hard drive to combine with my current rig with SSD. However, the new hard drive isn't showing up. Instead, I'm seeing this:

The guy in Lowyat told me I need to reformat it first, so do I just reformat this System Reserved?

Kindly advice, newbie here.

Thanks!

hi I think the rest of the space is still in "unallocated" mode

do a reformat, at the start of the reformat screen it will show you this unallocated space, u just right click and partition it in any way you like

Hi just wanna inquire I have a 1TB hard disk back from 2009, recently gor corrupted while steam installing dota2.

I tried reformatting but windows wont allowed it, so I tried partition guru to verify and repair.

Now after partition guru verify and repair, when I tried to reformat the MBR is missing during the first reformat.

I tried with all the available options of partition guru trying to reformat my hard disk, now it wont even be able to read anymore it says some error with memory allocation error.

Now my question is, is better to send to a professional to fix it or just purchase a brand new one? or is there any other DIY tools to fix it?

Hi guys im looking for an external hardisk with at least 2TB. Contemplating whether to get thunderbolt or just USB 3.0 hardisk as i heard there is no noticable difference between the two unless u have a SSD inside. Is that true?

Any recommendation. Im looking at the WD My Book, pretty pricey, any better alternatives?

Thunderbolt external dual RAID0 SSD for speed

otherwise, any external HDD with USB3.0 will do

HDD cant even touch USB3.0 top speed anyway
