hi guys, have question about WD's RMA service.

on official website stated in Selangor only Petaling Jaya is available, i wonder if Puchong also included since it's so near, any forumers from Puchong tried b4?

thx.

Do you guys think it is going to take long? If supply is short means sales is low too. Then how those HDD manufacturer makes money and survive?

with the acquisition of samsung by seagate and hitachi by wd, and thus the only 2 big players in the hdd market, it is definitely not something to get excited about frm end-user perspective shakehead.gif

Can't really blame either of them. From what I heard the HDD industry is centralized on very high operating cost with expected low margins, during the early Pentium days there used to be like a dozens different manufacturer (Quantum, Maxtor, IBM, etc) which have either been bought out, merged or ceased to exist altogether. It doesn't come as a surprise that these former players want to exit the market.

That is a very fast RMA. Well, for my case, i sent 2 defective HDD. Samsung external (dead) and Seagate Barracuda 320 GB (Lots of damaged block/ failed short test). I got my replacement for Samsung external which only took 4 days , but for my barracuda, still haven't received it. It has been 11 days now cry.gif

I don't think it should take that long. Have you checked RMA status in their web whether or not they have received it?

If you know your order no, you can check it here:

https://store.seagate.com/webapp/wcs/stores...s:SgSSORedirect

but in your case, your seller should know it.

In my case, my RMA status still "in process" (which mean they have received it). It has been 2 weeks dry.gif

What?
I didn't know Samsung's hard drive unit was acquired by Seagate until today.
No wonder cannot find it anymore on the price list. rclxub.gif
