They have a custom book..and they have different percentage of taxes for different types of items..not a lump sum of money..its the percentage of the total cost which is item cost + shipping cost

Since you guys are more experience those tax rate, mind to share with me, what will be the approximate tax for plastic model?

Well..try to use EMS coz they can't tax you if total cost is below RM500..but if its above RM500 you can't argue

It looks quite true to me as all these times, I was using EMS but I want to save up some shipping cost, so I have been using SAL for past few shipment.......
And now, headache to me......

If you use courier/EMS and the total cost is less than RM500..no tax will be applied ^^

Based on percentage. Each stuff is different tax percentage. even if you import food also they will charge you with tax. They have this one book, all about the percentage of tax they can charge you. Make sure they charge you with the correct tax rate or else you will be cheated by them.

Thats why I need to know what is the tax rate for plastic model from expert here......

Custom Butterworth is located at the post office near jetty. Very small office. I went there to collect the items with my friend there. When you open the box in front of them, they will verify what item is in the box and if the item exceed RM300 (i think), they will ask you to pay them the taxes. You need to go to a room where a custom officer will refer the tax book and he will make you a letter of payment. So prepare your money because there is no ATM machine nearby.

I havent been there as my working hour doesnt suit our custom's working time......
I will only back after 630pm, I guess our customs are already sitting at home having their 'kopi'.......

And some experts from other forum telling me that they will charge around 15% on our items (including shipping cost)

The post office is near the ferry jetty. After you came out from the ferry, turn right, heading towards the new highway. Then you will meet a traffice light where you need to make a u-turn to turn back. You will notice the post office form here with all the post trucks and vans parking on their lot. You also can park there, no need to pay the parking. Then you can ask the post staff where is the custom office. They will assist you to go there.

As I recall, there is no ATM machine at the post office or at jetty. You need to go further down to the town to search for a bank. But maybe there is a secret ATM machine that I dunno
