Malaysian Custom is very good. Once i followed my friend to pick up his stuff from custom. There i saw they just sepak and throw all the parcels. Aiyo, if the stuff in there is so fragile, i think it will be destroyed already. And their service is very slow. And some more smoking in their office. What the hell is all this?

Some more they shake-shake the boxes first. What can we do? We dont have evidence to proof they do all this things.

What a sad story bro. People like this cannot do business right. They only think about profit only. They don't know how to appreciate us, the collectors.
Boycott her shop, don't do any deal with this monster

QUOTE(striderozy @ Oct 27 2007, 06:50 AM) Anyone has any idea that how much will the custom charge us on the tax? Is it percentage on our overall value or a lump sum of value? Thanks. Depends on what items you import to Malaysia. Then the tax is defer on each kind of item (p.s. electronic stuff is expensive in tax). If I'm not mistaken, if the item price is beyond RM300 or if they think your box is to big or fat they will charge you. They will calculate how much you will need to pay them.

Based on percentage. Each stuff is different tax percentage. even if you import food also they will charge you with tax. They have this one book, all about the percentage of tax they can charge you. Make sure they charge you with the correct tax rate or else you will be cheated by them.

QUOTE(striderozy @ Oct 30 2007, 04:38 PM) Custom Butterworth is located at the post office near jetty. Very small office. I went there to collect the items with my friend there. When you open the box in front of them, they will verify what item is in the box and if the item exceed RM300 (i think), they will ask you to pay them the taxes. You need to go to a room where a custom officer will refer the tax book and he will make you a letter of payment. So prepare your money because there is no ATM machine nearby.

The post office is near the ferry jetty. After you came out from the ferry, turn right, heading towards the new highway. Then you will meet a traffice light where you need to make a u-turn to turn back. You will notice the post office form here with all the post trucks and vans parking on their lot. You also can park there, no need to pay the parking. Then you can ask the post staff where is the custom office. They will assist you to go there. As I recall, there is no ATM machine at the post office or at jetty. You need to go further down to the town to search for a bank. But maybe there is a secret ATM machine that I dunno
