Thanks kytz for the recommendations. I did some research with the 2 model that you recommended and found out that the Lumix LX5 had an improved model which is LX7. Is there a vast difference between them? Worth the upgrade?

hi, i will be travelling to a few places in the near future and im looking for a compact camera that is durable, easy to bring around but take nice quality photos and videos. i dont want anything bulky like a dslr, i dont know what i should get. pretty noob when it comes to cameras, have never personally owned one.

Remarks: I'm going to trade off my Tamron 17-55mm lense due to compatibility issue with my Canon 70D. Personally feel like 85mm is much useful on my photography. Might be getting Canon 50mm 1.8 along with 85mm lense cheapo for special case.

Mostly is due to videography. The recording can only record for around 10sec then the video recording will stop. I will hear the live view close sound, and after google for a while, I realize I'm not the only one who is having the same issue. This one will only happen to VC version1. For version2 there is no issue. But anyhow, because this is not really a STM/ silent lense, so during videography, I will definitely hear the zoom sound which it will be recorded as well. That's why I need to change the portrait lense.
