RM 675 for insured amount of RM4500 for windscreen. I am thinking of not insure windscreen. I remembered the SA told me will be cheaper for 2nd year... but it seem that the SA is wrong again.

Mine just first year (this year) for FL version windscreen sum insured RM6k, premium RM900! rclxub.gif

Yes, include the tinit. So if something happens, you get a free tint replacement too.

by the way, never before did i hear insurance company cover "tinted"..i only know tinted shop cover their own tinted...

edit: read a few things about the windscreen...seems like it is normally around RM4500...insure higher is better is true but i'm quite baffled by the cost

My Insight engine can't start today...not sure whats the root cause
Here what happens :

Alarm suddenly ringing..for about 5 minutes, my neighbour came over and alert me about it..
So I grab my car key, push either the lock or unlock button(on the key)..reason was try to disarm it but not working..

Since no choice,Ii open my door manually(insert key)...alarm still ringing..
Insert my car key to ignition(only able turn until II, not till START) and press/hold the immobilizer 1-2 seconds(which still blinking)...the alarm went off..but the red light blinking also went off mad.gif

BUT now
1) I can't start my car's engine
2) Immobilizer not blinking anymore
3) headlight not working, emergency signal light not working, all electric stuffs not working

Do any of u guys encountered this before? Whats the root cause?
How to solve this? icon_question.gif

I was advised by my SA to insured 5k for the whole car windows all around. The most expensive is the hatch back rear screen.

@Ryan Soo

can you check your front battery still working ? If best sure ask the service center / insurance technician to check it up since the car is insure.

if you have multimeter, check the voltage of the car battery. If less than 12V then mean battery is weak already, ask service center to get a battery replacement for you.

but if disable alarm , you need to know your cobra 4 - digits code but without putting the car key.

the price for the windscreen is to expensive also due to
1. import from japan
2. the rain sensor if not mistaken

what happen to my windscreen now is it got a super small stone chip...i also not sure should i claim it or leave it...haiz...

I assume the front battery not working(base on -> the emergency signals not working, headlights not working, doorlight not working etc)..am i right?

Ya the funny part was I insert my key in the ignition and press/hold the cobra thingy for estimate 1-2seconds..the alram then stop..

My question was, why the alarm ON at the first place? I don't think anyone trying to break into my car, I parked inside my house. Would it be an indication my battery was dying? Or? rclxub.gif

I just renewed insurance for my other car, a Kenari. I bought insurance frm Etiqa since that car loan with maybank. In the insurance document, since I purchased windscreen cover, there is an attachment stating what is covered. It is stated clearly that it covers front and rear windscreen, including all windows and sunroof, including tinting. Max claimable amount is the sum insured, it is up to you how much you want to insure. Claim based on replacement receipt and all necessary documents e.g. claim form and photographs.

My insight is just few months old, so have not come to renewal part. The first insirance is MSIG, my SA advised me to cover windscreen with amount of RM 4,500 for the premium of RM 675. And looking at the fine lettering, there was this "Endorsement 89 - Breakage of Glass in Windscreen, Window and Sunroof". In the detail, it is mentioned "... we will pay the cost of replacing or repairing any glass in the windscreen, window or sunroof including lamination / tinting film, if any, of your vehicle following breakage of such glass up to an amount not exceeding limit as stated in the schedule." a.k.a your Sum Insured.

I think different insurance company have different terms. Strictly speaking, the term "windscreen" is only the front winscreen, excluding the rest of windows and tinting. So the best is to refer to you insurance covernote and look at the attachment part for windscreen add on coverage. It will normally state there what is covered and what is not, together with relevant terms and conditions.

I know, not many people like to read through the fine letterings.

Hope this helps to clarify.
