:help:need explanation here..

i thought i read somewhere but cant find it now..

my IN2 is black. when i do my routine weekly car wash day, my trusted car washer show me that my IN2 color was 'bercapok-capok' or 'berbelak-belak'. cant find proper english word.. only notice when closed up.

seem like the paint color coat really thin!

any idea how to solve this matter? is doing wax and polish help? or perhaps glass coating like sierra-glow?
*
I think I know what you mean... My previous car also got the same problem. sent the car to wash someday, saw the guy wash my car, "lap it" and then park my car under direct sun. later when I get my car, the color also 'bercapok-capok' or 'berbelak-belak'.. I'm not sure which fault is it, the cheap shampoo or the direct sunlight. or maybe the combination of both.. After that, I never want to sent my car to car wash again. I wash it myself. Btw, My previous car is Red in color.

I think maybe polish and wax will help.. and then plus another glass coating.

@lunchtime

Can , no problem at all. You need to remove some plastic cover on your side door to let the wiring come through. Ask car accessories shop to do for shop if you have doubt on this.

been think of changing as well, just wondering wider tires like the 195 or 205 can fit the existing rims and how will this affect the FC?

and does anyone know how to soften the stiff ride for a better comfort?

1. Wiper arm hole. The location where the wiper arm is bolted. There is some gap especially the middle one where wind could sips into the plastic paneling. POSSIBLE BUT UNLIKELY DUE TO LOCATION
2. Weather strips on the roof. I notice a very small gap on my right hand side weather strip.  VERY POSSIBLE
3. There is a small gap between the edge of plastic panel joining to the windscreen & A pillars both right and left. Got rubber lining there. VERY POSSIBLE
4. Front door. Notice the outer window rubber lining (black rubber) ended with a small gap. VERY POSSIBLE. IF INSTALLED VISOR, NOISE SHOULD NOT BE THERE ANYMORE! ANYONE GOT VISOR INSTALLED, ANY MORE NOISE?
5. Plastic panels for side mirror. (HMM, POSSIBLE AS WELL)
6. HATCH BACK AT THE TOP HAS A BIG GAP THAT COULD TRAP THE WIND FROM THE ROOF. NOTICE PRIUS (ALMOST SAME SHAPE) HAS A DIFFUSER OF SOME SORT ON THE ROOF FOR BETTER AIRFLOW.
THE WITCH HUNT BEGINS.

Point no 6 well taken.

Anyway got a new discovery today. All the above points was carefully studied today and i found that everything quite flush and well fit (except point 6 that u just brought up). Compared to my other car with much inconsistent gaps and fitting, there's no way point 1 to 5 contribute to the whistling sound. And I notice the whistle only happens when the speed is 100km/h WITHOUT ANY CAR IN FRONT OF ME.

This further convinced me on the conclusion about the whistling sound came from the front top area of the car. Out of nowhere, i got this crazy idea of releasing the bonnet (but still hooked) and drive it to 100km/h. Conclusion, NO SOUND.

After much observation, i notice there is a gap between bonnet and plastic paneling at the bottom part of windscreen. The rubber lining between that plastic panel and bonnet is flush but slightly sink, making a nice gap for wind to spoilt and whistle at certain velocity going through them. When i release the bonnet, the gap was disturb.

Later I tried to cover them with tape and walla.... 100% no whistling sound.

I will look for a proper rubber lining or flaps to beef it up and took some picture so u can understand / pin point the location. Now back to silent driving thumbup.gif

Hey bros - just wanna ask would it hurt a newly bought insight if we drive the car up on high way and to genting? (would it stress the engine too much to have a long term deteriorating effect on the engine?

Could a new car handle this ? I know last time.. some guys said new car better don't stress it until after the first service?

It is OK going up genting... new car with nano coating can take it... the engine is already pre-run during production thats why Honda did not change oil during 1st 1000KM... hahaha drive like normal car will do... no special care needed...
