My insight's idling problem is getting worse. Honda now want me to send my car in then they will video record the idling problem then send to HQ or Japan or wherever they want. They admit there is a problem but dont know what cause the problem and dont know how to fix.

could u describe how is ur idling problem like?

When you accelerate from a stop, it shudders a bit at low speeds, kind of like a car with a manual transmission will. It seems this only happen when Econ Off. It is very obvious, but when during Econ On, the shudder feel is mild. You can see a little bouncing on the tachometer while it does this.

Another one is, when you are slowing down and you lift off the gas paddle, some times the car shudder and sometime it jerk and when you step on the gas paddle back, then is ok.. ( feeling like when u are driving a manual gear box when the car is slowing down and you didnt step on the clutch and the car shuddering..)

any ideas?

any improvement after the software update? is it the 2012 insight software?

I did the reformatting on my wife's insight recently at the BSD's SC. 1st impression for now, looks fine and no more charge and recharge that are so frequent, as the battery level seems stable. Will test again this weekend if it is back to normal.

so happy for now and should thanks to Bro gadgets2us for recommending or being the white mice.

1.I sent in for 20,000KM service at HZN Glenmarie, they seem clueless when I told them about this issue. All they said was ..there is no bulletin from Honda to update the software. We tested and everything is okay.

2. Also 30,000KM only need to replace engine air filter.

3. Kinda shocking but lucky for me they ran out of stock for that RM100 over bucks air con filter!

There is no jerk before but notice more smoother on the move. I didn't ask what version but the SA mentioned has been reformatted to the original version.

Added on April 13, 2012, 3:42 pmwhen i sent to Honda SC in sec 13 earlier, they tested and also unable to find the root cause too. They suggested for me to leave the car for few days for their testing. I a bit hesitating as my wife will not have kaki to go to office liao.

With the reformatting of the software, just hope will be back to normal. I shall update after testing for some time.

That mild forward-slow-forward-slow motion when accelerate is it? Its more obvious when the engine is cold & econ off. Felt the same motion last time but now ok after i used fully synth 5w engine oil (the red cap bottle).

Hm....I think the problem that I'm facing is related to cvt or ima calibration. I don't think using higher grade engine oil will solved the problem as I don't this is related.

After updating, no problems on IMA battery charging/discharging. All back to normal like first got the car.
Acceleration back to normal, and all seems well now, except for a few "sounds" around the driver vanity mirror/toll card holder thing. Prolly will get that replaced.

No idea what version number is it, as I didn't have a chance to sit beside the technician while he was on his laptop inside my car doing the reformatting. But apparently its a "new" version as claimed.
Jerkiness/shudder I encountered, only on low gear/speeds ard 20-35.. doesn't seem smooth, but after 40-50.. all ok. Unless there's a valid explanation for that and have the solution, I guess I could live with tht.

Can jazz hybrid steering pnp to insight to have the paddle shift?

I also thought the thing caused by tranny/ima motor. But somehow cured once i go fully synthetic. I'll observe again tomorrow morning when the engine/ transmission still cold.
