how to make tab recognize on PC? for data transfer

me using window XP...

if use USB cable to slot in thumb drive will it work?

wow thanks for the review , but come to this , how is the compatibility ? can play HD video smooth which eveyone is facing problem with the tab ?
Any fix on the compass accuracy ? which everyone is also facing ?

Last time when i use kies my trick is when upgrading to newer version of kies must disconnect tab from laptop. After finish upgrade then connect and windows will find the correct driver for it.

I'm using windows 7. Earlier, I got no issue connecting my tab to my PC with USB...

i've got kies working in XP and Win7, no problems and updated to 3.2 for 7500 and 7510 - tab is not rooted

I just updated my tab to HC3.2 through setting --> About device --> software upgrade
But look like no change at all
Anything that I miss?

the whole interface has been skinned on the Galaxy Tab. To know how vanilla honeycomb looks like go to the nearest Harvey Norman or whichever that has different variant of tablets on display and try it. The most vanilla honeycomb would be the Motorola Xoom I believe.

When ICS comes out for the Galaxy Tab it will look exactly the same as it does now. The TouchWiz UI remains, only the internals are changed for better performance etc. To the end user there will not be a drastic change.

Added on February 4, 2012, 12:38 pmhaven't really tried HD videos. When you mean HD are you talking about 720p or 1080p ? On overcome and pershoot kernel I can play 720p videos without any issues using DICE player (the best player so far !!) Will try and see how it is on ICS. Compass accuracy means I need an actual compass to compare the reading to ?

No need, just use any android phone and install any compass.Of yourself also can sense the direction at 7am where is sun rise.
The tab really having problem with the accuracy , they read the sun rise at the west.
on this forum , there are a few member tested also having this kind of problem , not sure whether it's the HC 3.1 or the hardware issue.
Still need a lot of people to test to make some confirmation.I hope most of the owner new willing to help and test because if it's an hardware issue , it must be fix.

Where I can get Stock ROM 3.1 with CSC code XME ... I already try some Stock ROM at XDA which it said Multi CSC .. XME included but when I flash that ROM and i check back the CSC, it change to GLB ... ??? right now I cannot connect with kies at my PC .... "your device does not support software upgrading via kies"

To those who have issue upgrading...try this...

Make sure u have at least 3gb of free space on the drive u installed kies..

If that doesnt work, try different laptop...

The OTA most likely wont work..so better use pc kies straightaway...

But the actual download is very slow on my home 1.2mb line..
So i stop halfway...
Gonna try again in office next week...

like mine, 2 port can recognise... 1 cannot... and that is the only port i use to plug in my wife's ipad... coincident? God knows

If that doest work, try to remove kies and usb drive manually from control panel and delete all kies installation folder... that should gives u a fresh start...

Sigh, bought a expensive 3rd party charger that says can charge the ipad. Output is 2.1A.
I thought 2A is to charge tablet, so can work for tab also.

The charger is the USB kind, so the tab USB cable also can plug in and charge. But when plug in, it says mtp mode on and never charge.

So I tried put ipad to charge using tab charger. It also says not charging.
Samsung and apple really not good friend lo. :-(

Further checking shows Samsung charger is 2.0 A, ipad is 2.1A.
Never thought that 100mA can make such difference.

Monitor the battery level. It will charge though you see battery logo with a X. It is a software bug

If you have the ability or a good buddy that can do soldering, all it need are some jumper resisters. It is an old trick played on Ipod users in the early days.

Like i said it can be charged. Just monitor your battery level. I have been using such usb ipad chargers for all my tabs

hi guys. i've been using GT 10.1 wifi for 2 months but this is my first visit to this thread. Now using stock HC 3.2 rom. need a lot to learn here...

mine stuck at 17% and then reboot if update OTA. Tried over KIES but it could detect my tab. Gonna try uninstall and reinstall.

I had experience the following prob:

1. When i click on the market, it wont load and give out error msg "your client is out of date. It will be update automatocally shortly".

Please help and advise...
