You cannot get ota updates with a cook rom installed. Flash back to a stock rom first

I'm cant get my stock browser to sync with my google chrome..
Anyone know of other methods?

I've tried it and it's AWESOME !! even though its only beta and the camera doesn't work, it's really snappy especially since it's a vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich without Touchwiz. Compared to the tab running overcome and overclocked the kang ICS performs way better. To be fair I only have 1/3 of the apps installed though but at the very least navigation on the home screen and menus are instantaneous and doesn't lag like before, even when rotating between landscape/portrait.

So I need to flash it back to 3.1 before getting the OTA. Do I root it again after that?

just curious if you're already on overcome why do you want to go back to stock ? if you want to download OTA you'll need to flash to 3.1 first.

I thought that's what needed to be done to upgrade to official 3.2, somehow still noob in this.

Suggestions if I should do that or just stick to Overcome?

Why you wish to flash to 3.2 when you are already on Overcome based on 3.2 ??
After getting the OTA update, ask YOURSELF not us whether you want your Tab to be rooted ? It all depends on your needs

still cannot upgrade to 3.2, both KIES pc and OTA...

my tab is stock 3.1, rooted... what else could be wrong?

evrytime i use KIES, while it was downloading the package, my device shows as disconnected in KIES.. then after finish downloading, the dload window closes then my device tries to connect again.. then back to download screen again...

Try uninstall KIES...and install back...

Mine is root but smooth when update to 3.2....

maybe you can try to uninstall your kies and resinstall. but do not update to the latest version of KIES..

I'm not sure this way works or not, but no harm to try if you're free.

few months back, there was a firmware update for sgs2. not the 2.3.6,
still the native 2.3.3 with extra asian language support.

as usual i tried using KIES.
This KIES is really NOT USER FRIENDLY and refuse to JUST WORK.
same case like you half way always disconnect or hang.

i went to many forum and check, mainly in jaceooi blog and read their comments.
at that moment, my sgs2 was also stock and rooted.

i tried many times with my laptop also fail. some people suggested me to stop my anti virus.
i tried but also fail. so what i install the latest KIES on another pC, which is my netbook, it does not have anti virus at all.

strangely it just works on my netbook
maybe the anti virus is causing prob.

so try uninstall your antivirus, or use KIES on a PC that has no antivirus.

OK.. gonna install kies on my second laptop..
Then I will try disabling anti virus...

Hopefully that works...

Tried reinstall, but kies won't allow me to upgrade firmware unless I upgrade kies...
No choice, but update kies first... unless u hav a way to bypass that...

Any idea to upgrade official 3.2 without using kies? Kies cannot recognize my tab since months ago.

Wierd..why some tabber cannot update via kies? I'm also last time scared cannot update by kies and after put usb cable..kies show got update firmware...so i'm update and get 2.3....what ur firmware before update kies?

Successful update to honeycomb 3.2 ota...easier than tru kies
